Charlie's Bar-B-Que

I've been coming to Charlie's for years, and even though I live in another state now, I make it a point to visit Charlie's on every trip back to Greenville. That should tell you everything you need to know, but maybe not, so let's go.This is BBQ done very well -- Very Well. You march right up to the counter, and your order is prepared right before your happy eyes. Pay there, grab a cup for your tea, and take your plate to one of their tables.I used to order a Mild Chopped Plate with Cole Slaw and Baked Beans, with a side of Fries and a Tea. Those days may be gone forever (since I've learned that I'm gluten intolerant, and also have a severe intolerance for tomatoes- ech!), but I can still love on some chopped BBQ with slaw and the ever-beloved iced tea.So, if you're in the mood for BBQ, and want some tender, tasty pork, come on down to Charlie's; there's a table waiting for you.

Solid barbq. Pork is always a little dry, but I really like their sauces. Potato salad is homemade, so thats always a plus. When you get a craving for a pulled pork sandwich, beans, and potato salad, this place does the trick. I'm in here twice a month.

Food was sub par at best . Best thing they had was the French fries. Plus the have a sign stating that it's the law to wear a mask. This is false there is no law stating that. If you want to make sure all people wear masks just say we want you to wear masks .Do not try to scare people saying it's the law .

Had lunch here this past Monday after flying in for a quick one day job in Greenville. While It wasnt bad- but when BBQ has so much potential- this was disappointing. I had smoked turkey & pulled pork. The turkey wasn't bad but I've certainly done better birds on my WSM. While not dried - it wasn't overly moist either. Flavor was decent. The pulled pork wasnt bad but certainly not some of the better pork I've had in recent memory. They probably would have earned 3 stars but they lost points:- Mac & Cheese: this was like box mix stuff. - Cornbread (lack thereof). What kind of BBQ place doesn't have cornbread?- Coffee: They offered coffee and said that they would brew a fresh pot, but this was very, very weak brew. I'd pass on Charlies BBQ. I should add that the next day I had BBQ at the Airport during a layover and this was far better. I guess I'll have to do a review for that place.

Great food at a great price. Service was quick and friendly. Food was fresh and delicious! Only minor complaint was the average mac and cheese and missing a sweet side like sweet potato crunch or banana pudding. Certainly something I can overlook given the awesome bbq.

This place is excellent and I would surely return - the basic BBQ at it's best. The selection is perfect - price is amazing and taste - now THAT is BBQ!Plenty of free parking too!

Just flew in from airport. Rental driver recommended so we gave it a try. Great service, great BBQ. Friendly staff. Got the jumbo sandwich with beans and potato salad. Potato salad was like a loaded bake potato, my husband loved it. I am a bit of a potato salad snob (only eat my moms recipe) but it looked interesting. I had the beans and they were good. All of it was good. I regretted not getting the French fries as they looked amazing. The French fries were those large crinkle fries. I love eating at small local places and this one did not disappoint.

Absolutely love Charlie's BBQ. The staff are always nice, fast, and wear a mask. Most importantly the food is great. Great flavors in the pulled pork. Just the right price!!!

food and service are the best! truly friendly people. great prices too! we live out of town but we have made this our meal stop from now on!

Had lunch here last week with some work buddies and enjoyed the delicious barbecue, macaroni and cheese, fries and chips! The tea was sweet and the service was stellar! Great visit, thanks!
