Charanda Mexican Grill & Cantina

This is the best Charanda's, Mexican restaurant, and anytime restaurant in Rock Hill.We love sitting outside in their covered area with fans to keep us cool.The wait staff and support staff are incredible. They make us feel welcome, take care of our requests quickly, and they treat us with great respect and kindness. They accept our special requests with equanimity. We don't want to leave anyone out, because they are all phenomenal, but we have had many wonderful experiences over the years with Isidro, Odie, and Alex.The food and drinks are beyond compare. My latest favorite is veggie nachos, since I am a vegetarian. I ask for black beans to be scattered on top for protein, and I end up with a satisfying meal with enough to bring home for later. I have ordered this dish at other Charanda's locations, and the difference in quality is like night and day. At this location, the generous servings of broccoli, red bell peppers, squash, and mushrooms end up creating a healthy dish that I couldn't possibly finish in one sitting. If you are vegan, perhaps you could ask for poblano sauce or tomato sauce instead of cheese sauce. I'm planning to try that myself soon.My favorite drink is the cucumber jalapeño margarita. It is so refreshing, and it is light compared to other margaritas.My husband has many favorites, so I won't list them now. However, when he was sick I ordered the Azteca chicken soup, and it was to die for, as well as helping support him as he healed.Just give them a try. You will not be disappointed!

I have been here several times now but won't be going back to this location. Tonight I ordered the shrimp chimichanga which I've ordered 4-5 times and the shrimp were not fresh and not seasoned at all. When I mentioned this to my server he didn't seem to care and sent the manager over. The manager is the reason that I won't be returning here. He wanted to argue with me saying that they do their best and I'm the only one that complained about the food all night. I mentioned that I have ordered the same thing several times and it's always been excellent. He told me basically if I don't like it don't come there. Then offered to remake it. Worst manager I have ever dealt with. I will continue to go to the fort mill location but will not return here.Edit: after reading some more reviews I'm pretty sure the idiot manager I was dealing with is the same CESAR mentioned by several others. Whoever owns this place should get rid of this moron, he's ruining your business!

Worst Mexican food I've ever had. A piece of bland toast has more flavor than the food we were served here. "Burritos" are just pieces of meat with a tortilla laid over it because it's not even wrapped. 10/10 do not recommend. Los Cantaritos in Rock Hill has much better food and service. Go there instead.

This place is awesome, food is flavored perfectly and the staff is always friendly. It's tucked away in a little shopping center that shares a space right next to a grocery store. Parking is not an issue. When you come into the restaurant there's a small waiting area I that I can see getting crowded but the rest of the restaurant is decent in size and spaced out well. The abundance of aromas are all in the air that will bring a smile to your face. For my entree I ordered street tacos 1 pastor 1 carnitas 1 chorizo and 1 carne asada. All were very delicious with a classic corn tortilla and cilantro and onions. All the proteins had amazing flavors and topped with the spicy salsa verde made this place one of my new favorites. The waiter was great very helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. I can't wait to go back. Please go and support this amazing restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

I hate leaving this review... I really do. My family and I have ALWAYS received great service...always. Friday, April 2nd was our worst service ever.Seated at 5:20 and brought chips and salsa. No service by waiter for at least 15 minutes. The gentleman came and took our drink order and we requested a bowl of the luxurious melted queso cheese. The food runner brought the the cheese out and he clearly saw that we had no more chips. We asked for a refill of chips and he said no your waiter will bring these. Okay.Drinks come out and we ask for more chips and he sees our basket is empty and he returns 5 minutes later with the chips. Mind you...the restaurant is not even halfway full and there are lots of servers and food runners standing around at their station looking at phones. We dig in to our cheese and it has already gotten cold and lumpy. No worries!!! It's Friday evening and this is my family's favorite place to eat. Comes to take our order. Pretty much the same as always. Carne Asada rare, no rice or beans for me. Wife has fried chicken chimichanga, no rice or beans. The boy gets chicken and cheese quesadilla. The girl gets 2 soft chicken tacos. Simple right?My wife and I get our plates a little after 6. Kids meals don't come out until 6:15. Wife and I waited for kids meals before we ate. I ask the same food runner for salt and pepper please...not again. Nope!!! Your server will bring this to you. I then ask could I have a little more salsa as I like to put this on the salad that comes with the Carne Asada. Nope...not again. No your server will bring it.Well heck!!! So I wrap up this review with a sad feeling that I truly might consider a new Mexican restaurant next Friday. What breaks my heart the most is that we have come here for years. We've celebrated birthdays and anniversaries here numerous times. Our bill has always been $60+ dollars each and every time.Service terrible minus a star.Food runner service minus a star.Other servers playing on their phones minus a star.

Worst food and service 5hwy charged me for food I sent back after 1 bite. Manager came to the table was rude didn't care that I didn't like the food. Won't be back

Probably one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Rock Hill. This meal on the other hand was lacking flavor. I wanted to try the birria tacos because it seems to be the trend now but they did not live up to the hype from this restaurant. They seems to just fall apart soon as you picked them up which made it difficult to eat. The meat on the inside was amazing though. I ended up just eating the meat out of the taco with the rice and queso. Maybe next time I'll just stick to my usual from this location. On the plus side their horchata is amazing there!

I really just love everything about this place. The food is absolutely amazing every time and their drinks are creative and just right every time. I live out of state and travel to this area frequently- i try to eat every meal there that I possibly can. I will even order food to take home with me

Good food but I have had better. I ordered the street tacos asada. I also ordered a chicken tamales and was brought a beef. I sent it back and never got another. I didn't realize until I paid and left. Price for 2 was fairly cheap!
