Charanda Mexican Grill & Cantina

My family and I love Charanda! The food is always delicious and the service is great. The atmosphere is good for families and a good girls night out for MARGARITAS

Took friends out to eat... service was delayed with food coming out slowly for each person. We ordered "homemade" guacamole and any grocery store guacamole would have been better. They seemed very understaffed. We may give this place another chance but will wait a while for them to figure things out.

We went here for lunch during the week. It didn't seem too crowded and were seated right away. They first had us in a booth and my husband said it didn't feel right so we moved to a different one and then I could feel the wood like the cushion is completely worn so very uncomfortable. Service was overall slow. Slow to order, get drinks, bring out chips and server at one point said she was going to bring more napkins and never did. The menu has what you would expect for a Mexican restaurant. We went straight to the lunch specials. My husband got the Arroz con pollo and I got the chicken fajitas. Food was just okay. My fajitas didn't have a lot of flavor. They were so charred that it took over the whole dish. I didn't finish because it was a lot. Turns out I didn't specify lunch fajitas when I ordered even though we were looking at the lunch menu page. I wasn't even asked lunch or dinner. There's other options in the area I enjoy more, but wasn't impressed with the service or food.

Service was good. Food was ok. Nothing great except the guacamole. Lots of families here eating and drinking.

This place isn't going to make it very long. Food takes a really long time, servers aren't properly trained, the owner hides in the back bar area while the restaurant is going down in flames and always blames the "new server" unfortunately servers are only as good as they are trained and the owner needs to stand up and take control of his restaurant before he doesn't have it any longer. Stop blaming your staff and get up and run the restaurant! Or hire an actual manager because you clearly can't do both!

This was my 2nd time dining at Charanda's, and my family's first. My boys are foodies and I wanted them to have the Charanda experience, as we normally have another Mexican go-to spot. The staff was friendly and attentive. Everything came out exactly as ordered. My boys ordered two entrees to share (steak & shrimp fajitas and the fajita fries with chicken). My husband and I each had the mixed fajitas. My husband made the comment everything tasted fresh and authentic. We also enjoyed the opportunity for both mild and spicy salsa provided on the house. Margaritas are HUGE and options are plentiful! The restaurant is open and seating not too close together. We will definitely be back!

Super friendly staff with good food. My sister and I shared the chimichanga with birria tacos. Loved that the birria was not salty like other places I've tried them. Price was fair. We enjoyed it.

Margaritas aMAZing. Luis was hilarious. Our server provided lots of entertainment and had such a bubbly, positive attitude. It was contagious and we had such a lovely afternoon. Seating was available inside and outside. They had lots of space and many large booths. Best part- they have homemade hot sauce. Fresh, spicy with that slowly building heat. I mixed it with salsa for dipping chips and covered my chicken with it too. Delicious! Authentic flavors in both of our chicken dishes, but not spicy so no worries if spicy isn't your thing. Lunch specials looked good too. We will go back and try more. Margarita was the perfect mix of tart and sweet, with that hint of tequila flavor. Definitely real deal and not watered down. They have so many sizes of margaritas, and Sunday specials.

Extremely poor management. Talked to a manager about rude service and he proceeded to try to argue with me instead of acknowledging the mistake at hand. Took him going back and forth with me to finally apologize for the mistake at hand. Lack of accountability and respect completely as if I am not paying you for a service. Save your money and time, there are better Mexican restaurants in SC that actually respect their customers.

This place is awesome. My sister's and I had dinner here when I visited in November. zit has great food, great service and great clientele.
