"Champa is truly a hidden gem when it comes to exceptional sushi dining experiences. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for a memorable meal. The menu offers a diverse selection of fresh and expertly prepared sushi rolls, sashimi, and nigiri that will delight even the most discerning sushi connoisseur. The quality of the ingredients shines through in every dish, showcasing the chef's commitment to using only the best seafood and produce. Each bite is a flavorful explosion of taste and texture, leaving you longing for more. The presentation is also top-notch, with beautifully crafted plates that are almost too pretty to eat.The staff at Champa is attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about providing excellent service. They are more than happy to guide you through the menu and offer recommendations based on your preferences. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or a first-timer, you'll feel right at home at Champa.Overall, I highly recommend Champa for anyone looking to elevate their sushi dining experience. You won't be disappointed by the incredible flavors, impeccable service, and inviting ambiance that this restaurant has to offer. Make sure to make a reservation, as this place tends to get busy - and for good reason!"

Excellent Por-Pea-Sod, shrimp rice wrap, fresh..for lunch I had the three roll specialShrimp avocado roll, spicy tuna roll and spicy crab roll.Indifferent as the filling was all ground like a mush (see pics). But the flavor was amazing. I just prefer slices of tuna and shrimp.Green tea was great. Overall 3.5 stars on the sushi, next time I'll try a meal, saw many savory choices.

I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed this place yet but Champa is a great option for those in the Hendersonville NC area looking for solid sushi options among other Asian cuisine. The place has a ton of seating and we've never had an issue being immediately sat. For those interested in a more unique experience, ask to sit in front of the sushi chef and what him work. My go-to is the Yummy Yummy roll and a cup of the Tom Yum soup. It's the perfect amount of food and never disappoints. Check it out today!

This place needs to rethink their menu, recipes and maybe straight up rebrand. It shows up as a Thai restaurant and I was looking forward to some good Thai food. More Accurately it's not just Thai It's one of those fusion restaurants that try to offer a variety with a mix of Thai, Japanese, Chinese fair. I find those types of restaurants are unpredictable the food at those establishments can be amazing, or dreadful. This place lands squarely in dreadful to lacklustre. The Thai food was not even ok, the sushi was meh and the lomein was average. The table order was, dumplings, lo mein, pad Thai, and larb (the server didn't even pronounce it right). The dumplings were good. The Lo mein was average, I've had way better in a food court at the mall. The sushi was ok but nothing to write home about. The pad Thai was so saucy it was almost soupy, the flavor was decent though. The larb was not larb it was horrible. Larb has onions, lime, cilantro, chilies and is fresh tasting. This wasn't larb it was really terrible Chinese lettuce cups with shiitake mushrooms, sugar and soy sauce and it was horrible I couldn't eat it because it was way too sweet for me. When the server brought it to me I was confused because it had no onions, no cilantro, no chilies.. she had already brought two dishes that we didn't order to the table so I asked if she had brought me the right thing and that I ordered the larb She impatiently replied "this is larb lettuce cups". I asked to see the menu to see if there's a description of larb as lettuce cups there's no description. How was I supposed to know they are using a Thai dish name to serve a bad version of something completely different. If it was listed as Chinese lettuce cups I wouldn't have ordered even though they can be tasty if cooked right they aren't my thing.I am a pretty tolerant person. I waited tables for years and am extremely empathetic to staff typically. But this place needs to work on everything. It has nothing but location to offer right now.

Really disappointing experience at Champa. Everything here was below average from start to finish, save our server who was so completely overbooked she didn't have any time to do her job (not her fault). We came in the other night with a party of 5, and the restaurant in general looks nice. It's not dirty and the decor is pretty, but the seats we sat in were busted and uncomfortable. The host seemed to be taking every single table that came in the door. We made a reservation over the phone earlier in the day and showed up and the reservation was lost. It looks like the host did her whole job on pen and paper, but seemed to be completely untrained. We offered to wait a bit longer and she insisted they could seat us as a walk in. At the same time we came in, a man asked for a walk in party of 14 people. I was pretty surprised because for a party that large it's rude to do that last minute. Rather than turn him down, the host assured him they could also be seated immediately.Due to the volume at that point, I probably should've just left - I read they have poor service in other reviews, but was shocked at just how bad it was.The host seated us and we didn't see our server for at least 20 minutes and water took a full 30 mins to come out. There were really young children working and our server seemed to be the only adult. Our food order didn't get taken until a full hour into us sitting there, and our food took another hour to even come out. ALSO - tell me why the party of 14 was halfway through dinner before we even got our order taken??? Half of their party wasn't even present when we came in and they were sat at least 20 mins later. We spent SO MUCH time waiting for them to get it together we probably should've just got up and left.I felt so bad for our poor server - she was clearly the superstar of the restaurant, but because their staff is all high school age or under, they all sat at the front behind the counter in a group rather than help her. I watched her sit and process receipts most of the night while also juggling the majority of the serving for the ENTIRE restaurant alone. The host should not have sat that many people, but the restaurant should also look at employing actual servers, not kids.By the time the food came the pad see ew was drenched in sesame oil and the two people in our party who ordered it found it inedible. The fried rice was good, the duck entree was cold and very bad. We ordered a sashimi platter and the fish was fresh and worth the $25 we paid for.Overall, the sashimi and fresh sushi looked to be pretty good, but the variety of hot entrees were not. This is an Asian fusion restaurant, so they blend Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and perhaps more cuisines. I found only the Japanese entrees were really worth anything, and overall an entire restaurant cannot rest on the back of the 1 good staff member they had working that night. There were so many problems with the night we would probably never consider coming back and would not recommend eating here.
