The food reminded me of a restaurant in South Carolina I used to get breakfast at in the seventies. This is what we got... we don't do much but what we do is good. I would get the smoked sausage every day. Quick in and quick to the table. Excellent. The paper towel napkins in the bag with the sandwich defines the ambiance. Yes. This is a hidden treasure of a forgotten era.

I was in town to visit relatives and my cousin suggested that we meet at CDA for breakfast. Of course, I had to look it up on Yelp and decided to give it a try. She had never been there before, but heard it was good. When I arrived it certainly didn't look like your typical restaurant, but the parking lot was full. We entered the building and there's not much to the place. It's small, very clean and the people were super friendly. FYI, this is CASH only establishment. The prices are reasonable, so you can still get a good breakfast if you find yourself having to dig for change in your car to eat. I think you can get a biscuit for a $1 or so. :) The menu is teeny tiny, but they actually have way more available than what you see up on the board. You just have to ask. We ordered, but I stuck with a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich with hash browns. The hash browns are McDonald's like...but way better! My mom ordered the Livermush...(YIKES!) and it ended up looking like a liver sausage patty. She loved it. I'll take her word for it. There is a small "dining" area if you want to grab a seat, which we did. The owner happened to be carving a pumpkin and was so nice. Just a good ol' southern guy that was very proud of his employees and the customers that he was honored to have for so many years. I would absolutely recommend a visit to CDA if you're in the area.

This place is a unique no nonsense cash only breakfast stop.Established in1950 and I'm thinking the new building is one of the few things that has changed over the years.I'll say they do make a dang good breakfast sandwich before the sun comes up. A little crowded at times but you won't be disappointed.

This is a good CASH only dive-ish joint that is a good, quick breakfast to hit up on those early mornings. Livermush, bacon, sausage, egg, no egg, on a bun. It's basic southern breakfast stuff.I've only had the livermush and egg. I like it, not crazy about it coming on a hamburger bun but it's not bad. You order to the left, wait, then pay to the right. A few random drinks in a cooler. I'm not a sweet tea fan but my co-workers love it like 5 stars and then a bonus star for extra love. It's also not outrageously expensive you can get breakfast for just a few dollars so it's nice sometimes I can buy breakfast for all my co-workers and not feel like I need to take out a loan. It's clean, and quick too. Service is good. I was told to have your cash ready by another customer it helps speed up the process. Good spot if your in the area.

It's a local cash only spot that is definitely a breakfast and lunch staple for many working folk in Gastonia. Everything comes on a hamburger bun, no substitutions. Personally I prefer my livermush, egg, and cheese on toast but it wasn't bad on a bun. Ham is tasty also! They didn't seem to be all that friendly behind the counter, especially the first time I stopped in and asked for toast instead of a bun.. as a local who's used to southern hospitality and politeness, I wasn't impressed, but it was a busy morning so I'm guessing that might've been the issue. The men in line that morning were all really kind, hardworking guys who didn't hesitate to help me figure out the ordering process when they realized I hadn't been there before.

This is another local classic restaurant. I eat breakfast here a lot. I either get their liver mush sandwich or their bologna sandwich.
