Casa Vieja Birrias & Tacos

I went to this restaurant because of the 12 good reviews that it received previously. I must say, being a lover of authentic Mexican food, that I was very disappointed. I ordered 3 tacos, all of which lacked flavor and were extremely small compared to other restaurants. To top it off, my meal for 3 tacos and a side order of beans which were also flavorless came to $15. I thought it was extremely expensive. I likely will not be back.

The best birria tacos I've had hands down. Just make sure you brush up on your Spanish before going!

What a lunch home run! Saw this place after going to the farmers market in Monroe, it's very close. Amazing birria tacos (cheese, beef, onion, and cilantro with a fried tortilla) and soup. Steak and pork tacos (asada y pastor) were excellent as well. The pastor / pork was one of the best tacos I have ever had. Can't wait to come back here. Prices are very reasonable, and the place was packed which is always a good sign. Fantastic food quality, and great service! A great value! What more could we possibly want?!

Such a good lite spot with really tasty birria tacos, nice aqua Fresca and quick service. Look forward to going back.

Best birrias and tacos in Monroe. Moving from Florida we had a hard time finding good tacos and birrias around, someone recommended me this place. Service was okay, but it's understandable it's a small place where not a lot people eat in.In regard of food quality, is was great, no complains. Been twice and is constant.Recommend!

This is the most amazing place. The quesabirria is the best I have tasted. It's a smaller place tucked away in Monroe but so worth it. We have been eating here since they opened. And they gave a lot of gluten free selections. Everyone in the family loves this place.

This is the first place in the Charlotte Metro area that I visited that had authentic Mexican food. Their birria tacos are so tasty! The staff was super nice and service was quick. We dined in, but they also do a lot of take out. Can't wait to go back the next time we're in the area.

So happy to have found this place! Best tacos I've found since leaving Southern California. Knowing authentic and eating anything else sucks. But Casa Viaja knocks your socks off with real quality and taste. Friendly and accommodating, I always leave full. Make sure and try the Queso Birria tacos. To die for!

My fave has to be the cabesa taco (cow cheeks, I think). It's usually quick. The service is good.
