The setting of the place is okay. The lighting is darker than most restaurants. Seating is a little tight as well. The food was good. The Birria Tacos were good, strong beef flavor and good Birria but nothing extraordinary, a solid 7/10. The "El Mexicana" was okay. Steak cuts were okay, too chewy. Rice was good. Elote was good as well. Strongly salted. Taste became boring after a few bites with the tortillas that came with it. 6/10.Service was 3/10. No refills. We went on a Tuesday around 3PM, it was not busy at all and there were plenty of waiters/waitresses. No napkins, no sauces. No refill on the free chips and salsa. The only reason why it gets a 3/10 is because of how fast the food came out. Overall, would not recommend unless you're ordering To-Go on the Birria tacos.

Ah, Casa Azul, the elusive treasure I've only unearthed twice! Commuting from Denver to Lincolnton for a taco fix might sound absurd, but hey, desperate times call for delicious measures! Our server deserves a medal for ninja-like attentiveness, and those chips and salsa? More addictive than Netflix binges! Hubby's chicken tinga tacos were a mountain of yum, almost a food-induced coma waiting to happen. Meanwhile, my chicken soup was like a warm hug on a drizzly day, with enough chicken and veggies to make a farm jealous. Casa Azul, you've stolen our hearts (and stomach space). Be prepared, we'll be back for round three before you can say "guacamole"!

Very cute restaurant, with great friendly service. The food however is not good. I usually base my first visit to a new Mexican restaurant by ordering a combo with ground beef. This order was a burrito, quesadilla, and chili relleno. Huge serving, also came with rice and beans. Every single thing on the plate tasted the same. They use some type of seasoning that permeates everything and it is not good. Its like a smoky and sweet spice, maybe chipotle, not sure but I do not like it at all. My daughter had a steak burrito. The steak was good, but again they had topped the burrito with some type of sauce that had the same seasoning. I will stick to El-Rey when looking for Mexican food in Lincolnton.

Ordered chicken fajita's and enchiladas. Both were flavored well. Salad and chips were good tasting also. Nothing sets up a good meal better than good salsa with chips. If they are good, most probably the rest of your meal will be. Pleasant waitstaff and checked on us just enough. The restaurant is decorated very festively and complements the good food. Will be a repeat customer if going that way again.

Casa Azul, I've been wanting to go for months since opening. So glad I went. As soon as you walk in you're greeting a smile. Then they proceeds to ask how many is in your party. Sat us down quickly.. My server she checked on us continuously and made sure we had all our needs. The food was fantastic. The vibe in their is great! We got there around 8. They closed at 9. We didn't feel like we was rushed at all!

Y'all! This is the place!I travel to Mexico several times a year (6x last year to be exact!) and this restaurant has a great mix of food from all over Mexico. It's also super cute inside and clean! Convenient too- located next to Marshalls and near Big Lots. We all enjoyed our food, and I really loved the hot salsa we asked for specially. The chips were delicious! My fajitas were not overly greasy, which I really appreciated!Service was consistent and friendly! The manager also said hello. Business seemed to be very steady- even on a Tuesday night. Everything was reasonably priced. The kids meals were 6.95 I believe. We will be back!

I've gotta say I've been absolutely loving this place. Been taking all my friends and fam here. The ambience is unlike anything else in NC. From the outside it is nonchalant but inside it is not only a beautiful forest like aesthetic. It has a super regal and upscale urban bar area. It looks so fancy I just can never stop looking at it. The lighting is wonderful. The menu is extensive. The queso is amazing. Super fun!
