Carolina Steel Sports Bar

Great atmosphere, 30 microbrews on tap and plenty of good bar food. Located in Ballentin area just south of Charlotte off 77. Can't miss location for socializing for sure.

Food: 3 starsAtmosphere/bar: 4 stars We stopped by for the first time on a Friday night to grab some casual food/drinks. The interior is well laid out with tons of bar top seating and a view of the TVs from pretty much every seat. The bartender was friendly and attentive. They have a great draft beer selection along with some bottled beers from up north. I would not recommend the dirty vodka martini because it came out ?sweet? and not very strong at all. The glass of wine was hard to mess up. As for the food - The wings were without a doubt the smallest wings I've ever seen. And for $18.99!! they should have been half that price. The flat was about the size of my thumb. They only had a few of the multiple flavors listed on their menu. We couldn't tell a difference between the ranch and blue cheese because both were chunky and lacked flavor. My Pittsburgh "steak" salad was topped with meat that very closely resembled shaved gyro meat. We enjoyed the pizza rolls the most which were basically a stromboli cut into pieces. I could see this spot being great for game day! But we'll skip it for dinner next time.

Consistently inconsistent is the best way to describe Carolina Steel Sports Bar, as I have come to learn that the quality of my experience is 100% dependent on who is working that day unfortunately. Thankfully for me, I had the marvelous Meredith as my server, so everything flowed as smooth as silk, as she is definitely one of their MVPs without a doubt.The food has never been the issue here since they unveiled the new and improved menu to go with the renovations in the kitchen, but for some reason the quality of servers is all over the map, so hopefully one day they bite the bullet and hire quality staff across the board to go with the awesome setup and solid food, as this place has so much potential but...

I believe that this place is in a transition and for that reason, I'm not going to give a full review of the service and food. According to the server, they are redoing their menu and making some changes. It will be interesting to see what changes in the coming weeks. I will say that it's a nice spot to watch sports and they have a lot of televisions and are very accommodating with what can be viewed on the screens.

I really didn't know what to expect when you walked in and the place did not have a lot of patrons. However, the chicken wings were fabulous. Some of the best have ever had the server at the bar was awesome. I had a totally enjoyable time would go back.

I've now been here quite a few times. Great place for watching sporting events. I've had some really good food. They changed up their burgers. It was a very good burger. They have some beer and drink specials throughout the week. If you're a Steelers fan, this is a place to go. They have a menu just for you.

Passing through. Saw this place had IC beer so thought we'd give it a whirl. The Jeff Reed Sandwich was enjoyed by my husband. He really enjoyed it -added fries. I had the chicken quesadilla with tortilla chips. I thought this was just ok. Between food and drinks, our bill was $92. Pretty pricey but we are passing through so it is what it is.

His place was terrible. First time here and I can say I will not be returning. Poor choices in draft beers Waited 30 minutes for my bill. Only one server working the tables and bar and barely checked in on the table. Asked for a to go drink twice. Never got it. Food menu was very little variety and it was mediocre. Would not recommend this place ever.
