You cannot beat the Friday night dirt track racing at Carolina Speedway! My son and I have been coming to Carolina Speedway for the past few years and I'd highly recommend this track to any racing fan! This dirt track has similar racing to the dirt tracks you might have seen other areas of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. You will find this track very well managed and operated. Things that stand out for me include:- There is plenty of free parking and it's easy to get in and out.- Tickets are not that expensive (~$20) and kids 11 and under get in free!- There is plenty of seating and you are not tightly packed in. Bring your blanket, cooler, and spread out!- The Concession Stand and "Sugar Shack" both have great food at good prices. I've found the food at this track to be the best of many of the other tracks in the area!- The prayer and invocation at the start of the race is authentic and caring.- The announcing is on point, informative, and loud enough to hear.- You feel safe as there are many friendly fans. You also see friendly police officers stationed nearby in case there is ever an issue. Paramedics are also staffed to handle any issues on the track.- About an hour into racing they have an event called "Kids Meeting Time" where the kids in attendance are asked to gather near the concession stand. They then get free candy thrown out from the track mascots: Mudwagon the Dragon or Captain Carolina. My son loves this!!!- The track is well maintained, safe for drivers and fans, and seems great to race on.- And, most importantly, the racing is excellent, fast paced, and exciting! We enjoy all the divisions and there always seem to be a lot of cars in each division.I've referred to Carolina Speedway as a "gem" in Gaston County and every time I come out with my family we have a blast!!!

Carolina Speedway is my favorite racetrack in the Carolina's!I didn't care very much that they cut the track down last year but I still enjoy watching the intense racing action on the 4/10 clay oval.It is very kid friendly as well. Every night they have a Kid's Meeting where drivers and sponsors donate candy to pass out to the children in attendance. Very cool! This is one of the few tracks that I have been to that actually keeps the flow going all night long to finish at a decent hour of the evening. The track allows food and coolers to be brought in - including alcohol which some race tracks do not allow, just do not bring glass containers. They offer different types of food albeit typical "race track" food, but all the choices are tasty. And for good measure the concession stand has always had a very high state restaurant inspection score! One downside is the extreme volume level of the public address system! If they could just figure out how to lower that a few notches for the entire evening it would be a miracle!!!I try to go back as often as I can!

Just go! It is a blast! They still allow coolers and alcohol (BYOB), the cars are fast and loud, the track is well maintained. It is just a great evening of southern entertainment! The racing action is intense. During the last race, one if the drivers spun out and hit the wall trying to stay out of the way of the race leader. I was amazed when the announcer stated while the wrecker was heading out to get the car off the wall and back into the race, that the driver was only 12! Obviously, he instantly became me and my brothers favorite driver. Get'em started early :-)

When I moved to Fort Mill in 2010, I need some racing. Ive seen very few dirt track races so I was excited to check this out. Its a really great facility. The racing is almost always exciting! The support divisions are the best, providing a lot of bumping and banging. The late models are hit or miss, sometimes its "follow the leader" if the track is really smooth. The track itself went through a change around 2012 I believe and once it got worked in, its been solid. Very rare to see holes or ruts. The food is GOOD and priced well. Lines can be long though as it is popular. You can bring your own cooler and food too. Bathrooms are decent. Seats are just concrete so bring a chair or seat back. Their announcer is HILARIOUS. They do a candy drop every fri night at intermission. Most times racing is over between 11 and 12, starts right at 8. They promote a very safe facility with atleast 3 sheriffs there at all times.. Plenty of parking. Special attraction races sell out so beware!! Ive taken my friends family and even my boss here. Ive been to about 8 different dirt tracks now, and this is one of my favorites.

Would not recommend if going to Monster truck show....they cancelled a show the day before bc of too much rain...and would honor the ticket next day and added on a show but there were people everywhere....way too many that parking became an issue...not enough. People were parking on the side of the road, parking up the road and walking. The bathrooms were locked and there where only porter John's available....and we got there an hour early but since parking was so bad it took an hour to get to the track and it was only 1/2-3/4 mile. Then we missed a quarter of the show standing in line to enter and then trying to find a place to stand, that's right stand....was no where to sit...just a big mess.

I as a former racer and I love to see a track that would make it a family sport's where no type of alcohol could be brought in are sold and control the fan's. also I would not allow are but up with the fighting on the pit's are track property. then people would come also build a arcadia and play ground for the kid's.
