Carnitas Guanajuato Mexican Restaurant

Doesn't look like too much when you drive past this place, but if you give it a chance, you won't be disappointed. It has a big parking lot with plenty of parking spots to choose from. The place inside is quite big with an open floor plan and plenty of seating to choose from with a spacious bar. They offer a variety of Mexican dishes, cevhiche, menudo etc. I came and decided to get their menudo and 2 steak tacos. Thr food came out and was extremely hot! It's not a bad thing as that tells me that the food was freshly made and wasn't just sitting there. There is nothing worse than a cold tortilla for tacos. These tacos were hot and tasted delicious! The steak was perfectly marinated and exactly what I wanted. The menudo was extremely hot and burned my tongue a bit, but I definitely did not mind as it tasted amazing! They also bring out fresh tortillas for you to eat with it. You also get free chips and salsa. My server was extremely polite and gave great recommendations. I definitely recommend this location if you are craving some mexican. You won't be disappointed.

Some of the worst service we've ever had sadly. We really tried to be patient and accommodating. But all of our dishes were incorrect. Overcooked and missing ingredients. Forgotten dishes. And it took us over 25 minutes to get the check after asking 3 times. We were only acknowledged urgently when our entire party decided to stand up and stare around as we approached 30 minutes waiting to pay and leave. The food was not good and the service was so so bad. I am reluctant to leave bad reviews since I'm a server myself. But the building was empty. We were one of maybe 4 tables and had more than 5 different employees approach us and all of them got our orders wrong or forgot us. Overall it was very disappointing and we were still excessively kind and patient

Great food. Authentic and delicious. Ambiance is a little dated, and the seround parking lot is less than tidy. Service was impeccable and very friendly.

I've gone to this restaurant quite a few times I actually enjoyed their food the service is okay sometimes I got friendly people but overall a true authentic Mexican food that I am sure you would love him before off of I even believe they have karaoke nights because one night when I was ordering it to go order I saw people singing karaoke to the left full of authentic Mexican decor and decorations and it does give you the authentic Mexican vibe when you walk through the doors. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.

Carnitas Guanajuato really let me down. After seeing such great reviews I was anxious to check out this spot while in the area. The place is huge, which was a definite standout the night I was there, as I don't believe they had enough servers so service took forever and someone different took my order, delivered my food and gave me my bill.With that said, we received chips and salsa when we arrived, but they must have been short that night because we only got two salsas so I asked for the limes and pico...which eventually did receive.We started with Margaritas, stay away unless you like Margarita Mix that is SO sweet, too much for me.I ordered the Chicken Fajitas, because you really cannot mess that up. Well you can, but not too much. The chicken and veggies were good, nice and hot on a steaming platter. However, the beans and rice were cold. I tried to flag someone down, which took about 20 minutes, and was finally able to get them heated up..which was so bad because instead of serving fresh rice and beans they re-heated my plate, making everything else, including the guacamole, hot and nasty. Should have just eaten the cold rice and beans.After finally receiving the receipt, and spending a lot more time there than I had expected, I am in no rush to return anytime soon.

Pretty legit Mexican food, the servers are nice even though a lot of them aren't good with speaking English. I found this place through my DT Local function in my DT app where I can dine my way to vacation with participating restaurants. I was super excited once I pulled it up on Yelp and saw that the star rating and reviews were great which I didn't question as my DT membership is Top Notch. "message me for details"Back to my review, I first visited his place in the a.m like 10:30am for a meeting to share DT with someone. They had just opened and boy was it freezing cold inside and no sign of heat anywhere. I was wrapped in my sweater and snugged in a booth awaiting my appointment to arrive. I figured since I had another appointment at noon it would warm up by then BUT NO. I almost ignored the amazing Salsa, warm chips, various dips, etc.. due to the cold and was planning not to return until my appontements ordered food and ended up licking their fingers as they signed their apps. I ended up scheduling my next meeting here again the following week at the same time and this time I ordered food and guess what ? It was warm inside , the food was so yummy and fresh and again the service was great. I'll be back, let me know if you want to meet me there

Loved our meal! When you sit down, they bring out a huge platter of different salsas, chips and limes. Delicious. I had the Enchiladas Guanajuato. They were so good. The Chile they use for the enchiladas was great. My husband had three different meats in his tacos and loved them all. We just moved from California and are thrilled to have a great Mexican restaurant nearby. My grandma's family was from Guanajuato, so this type of food is what I'm used to and what I love. It was excellent. We will definitely be back. I think the negative reviews must be from people who are used to Americanized Mexican food or Tex-Mex. Poor things just don't know what real Mexican food is. This is authentic.

Jose` was very polite and an amazing waiter! Thanks for the great service! My only complaint would be that the frozen Lime Margaritas could have been stronger as there was barely any alcohol, but hey, he's not the owner and therefore, not to blame!By the way... I tried the Monroe location and was superbly disappointed! It is AWFUL! Definite changes should be made if that place is going to make it! The food there and the food here is as different as night and day...

I have nothing good to say about this establishment. The salsa was very watery and the chips were stale. The food was very bland and not very appetizing. Service was lackluster with the exception of the 2 security who were trying to facilitate our service. As a 1st time visitor to Charlotte I would NOT recommend this restaurant to ANYONE. I am amazed that anyone eats there.

Great food will def go back! The staff was very friendly and helpful when asked for their best items on the menu
