Carmellas Pizza Grill

Came to visit this place for the first time with friends for NYE and the pizza was amazing! I appreciate the parking lot on the side of the building, because Montford parking can be crowded sometimes. There's not a ton of light but it's definitely not sketchy. It was fairly quiet when we first arrived so we had a healthy choice of where to sit, but more people arrived shortly after and things picked up as the night carried on. It's your typical pizza bar with straight forward decor and a good number of TVs, so you can't go wrong with choosing a place to sit and catching a game. Our server (Janice) was super friendly and invited us to walk over to the bar to check out the beer options available (available in bottles/cans only) - she didn't want to mess up the available options; much appreciated. Once we got our drinks, Janice made sure our closest tv was showing something we wanted to watch and promptly took our order. I tried the Picnic Pizza (fried chicken, peppers, tomatoes with added mushrooms) and it was fresh and cheesy. I surprised myself with how full I was after a couple of slices. The pizza was flavorful and I'm glad I was able to give this place a try. I'm already planning to head back to try another one of their specialty pizzas. Go check them out.

The food is pretty good if you need something quick or some lunch the pizza is my go to. The pasta i wouldn't try its very soggy and not flavorful at all. I've tried the garlic bread and it's good as well

Great slices, love the deviled eggs too! Always a good spot to spend an afternoon and play some Keno. Beverages are super reasonably priced and the menu has a ton of delicious stuff. Would recommend if you're looking for a casual sports bar with quality food and properly priced drinks.

Way way awful dry ass Pizza no tomato sauce lots of onions a little bit of bacon crust was like shoe leather I don't know how it survives

So, we dropped by Carmellas for pizza on a Saturday. This was my first time here, even though I've heard about it plenty. Fun fact: I love a good dive bar and MAN Carmellas was a great one. The bartender, who I am sad I didn't get his name, was a blessed man with a VERY heavy pour. I ordered a bourbon on the rocks and he poured half the bottle in my cup. A man after my own heart I tell ya ...LOL. I will be back, if for nothing else, than his gracious pours.We had so much fun here though. We were a group of about 8 and our bartender friend was 1 of 2 staffers and he held it down! I ordered a slice of plain cheese pizza and it was actually amazing for being just cheese. Super flavorful!! Inside was cool, very much a bar vibe. Great spot to come drink and watch sports. This is in Montford area so parking is iffy, but I found a street spot and walked over just fine. Can't wait to go back!

"Give credit where it's due," was a maxim my parents taught me. My unimpressive visit to Carmella's was a few years back, so I was hesitant at giving them another whirl.Alas, I ordered an 18" pie with pepperoni, and presto!, via Door Dash had it sitting snugly on my counter. On time. To order. Hot. Mmmm.The pizza was delicious with a proper amount of red sauce, spicy pepperoni with a drop of goodness cupped slightly in each one, and an acceptable crust (no one gets it crusty enough for this NY'er). Overall, excellent.Feeling like only a hot slice of pizza can brighten your day? I say "Give 'em a whirl." It will put a smile in your belly.

Disappointing experience. Order placed in their online platform. Arrived for pickup, and apparently the order was not received. After giving the receipt, they attempted to make the order but didn't take time read the order and provide the right food. 3 items incorrect and after calling to attempt to get the order corrected 5 mins after arriving home, they did not answer. Let the phone ring for 5 consecutive minutes, still no answer. Not a great experience.

I doordash Carmellas probably once a month on average. Their Italian dishes are very tasty and savory, especially the baked spaghetti and chicken parm! The garlic bread appetizer is also very good! Not as impressed with the non-italian options such as the buffalo chicken sandwich. But overall a good restaurant

Horrible pizza brunt looks like the scrapped the bottom and put it in the box. 9.00 for five mozzarella sticks! Only giving it a one cause there was nothing lower!

The bartenter Kelly is terrible. Carmella's became the place for a lot of local, loyal Charlotteans. They are finding elsewhere because they are ignored while he entertains himself. The food, atmosphere, and drink specials bring people in. He runs them off.
