Had a great day at this club. The course, facilities and staff are everything you would expect. The vibe is good and nothing disappointed! Everything I experienced was true to the old adage "you get what you pay for" I imagine this club isn't value priced to join, and it shouldn't be. It's top tier from start to finish! Really nice clubhouse with anything you would need to enjoy the club lifestyle. I can't speak for events and occasions, but I'm sure that would be handled quite easily at Carmel!

Best Private club in Charlotte! Best for families, best for fun and entertainment. Good is always excellent and the staff are amazing! The two completely different golf courses are always in amazing playing shape. The new $21 million renovation and addition is second to none in the southeast!

This is my first visit to this country club. I can understand clearly while the many would want to be have a membership here as it is not lavishly a dawn but very well decorated spaceship Ballroom and other amenities, I found the staff here very helpful very friendly extraordinary professional. They handled this banquet event of well over 200 like the consummate professionals that they are. The meal was delicious, and just enough to fill you without the desire to ask for a carry home box, and the pleasing feel of an elegant event. I must strive to book myself here for more business meetings as it proved to be extraordinary early beneficial.

At $70,000 to join and $700 a month with 1400 family members and parking can get tight. I'm shocked they want to pay food and pool workers $8.50/hour to $10/hour. Yeah, I asked. I guess this is the south so this seems to be par for the course but my word. I'm grateful for my midwest exposure that showed me it's possible to pay people a living wage and that's that. Banquet workers get $12/hour and they are part time. I'll update this once I compare against Myers Park which was closer and my first exposure but I genuinely don't believe I can ever justify such even if I had millionaire status. I'm not a member solely arrived for the Wells Fargo gold tournament and I will say things are pretty and nice. I do expect that from a Southern country club so they are heads and shoulders over the things I have experienced in the midwest. Of course, the grounds are 5 stars worthy. That's to be expected in the south, imho. All in all consider the employees say everyone on staff is nice to one another and I think that speaks volumes. I'd just expect folks to make a living wage when the buyin is as much as a house in the area. Yeah~ I'm not making it up... you can get a lot for that $70k. May not be where you want to live but yo... I'm not wrong.

So, you're considering joining a country club? Thank the Lord above you've been so blessed. You have been given the gift of belonging to one of the BEST golf & tennis clubs in North Carolina. Realize this. . .it's going to cost you money. You have rich people problems. SO, when considering facilities, services and fun, Carmel is a FABO place. Super friendly staff, excellent facilities and the food is TOP NOTCH. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more fine Club in SouthEast Charlotte and maybe perhaps North Carolina. bill

I went for an event, I'm not a member. It is beautiful, though. Nice views from the clubhouse. Beautiful porch and patio areas to dine. Golf course looks fabulous. I've played tennis there and they have really nice courts.Food...no comparison there to judge by, so it was ok, but probably could have been better based on how much I eat out. If I were a member I'd expect a lot for what I would be paying as a member.Service personnel are really nice. Ballroom? Dining area...needs some refurbishing. Kind of dated.

Course smells of Cheetos and hookers. Littered with hamburger wrappers. SAD!

There is a reason there is a waiting list. With 2 golf courses, 9 tennis courts, a great gym, pool area, bar, restaurants, a long list of activities for kids and adults, friendly members...it does not disappoint. There are a number of great country clubs in Charlotte, each with its own character. Carmel is definitely one of the top ones.
