After having the best dining experience at 73 and Main, we ventured across the street for a latte. Katelyn took the best care of us. She was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu. We both ordered raspberry/white chocolate lattes and they were so good! Not too sweet and full of flavor. Will definitely come back and hang out on their cozy couch!

Café Lentz is a European style café in downtown Mt. Pleasant, NC serving craft coffee, paninis, smoothies, and pastries, according to their Facebook page. All I know, is little Mt Pleasant has stepped up their game from a snoozy, nearly invisible hamlet to a stop worth making. Apparently, Café Lentz is associated with 73 & Main (across the street), and possibly the bakery next door (but it was closed when we visited). The offerings are typical of most large cities (hand crafted coffees, sandwiches, etc.) which may make some of the locals frustrated that a basic coffee and BEC biscuit is not available (the Hardee's is still up the road). I like that.As of this writing they have been open about six months. I think they still have some wrinkles that need ironing: the counter area is contentious with the sole bathroom, as well as the condiments counter and ordering station, all competing for the same space. Claustrophobic. The coffee was delicious, but I think the "small" size is one click above a communion cup serving--I'll call it petite. Step up to the larger sizes for a better value. My first visit to Mt Pleasant was 25 years ago and it was all one could do to find a pizza shop. Much has changed and is getting better. Some local hangouts remain (e.g. What-A-Burger #13--yeah!), but Café Lentz is a forward move that I say, "give 'em a whirl." Support the nouveau investors willing to spend some cash in their pockets.

We live out near the Cabarrus Events Arena and there's not a ton of food options around us, especially for breakfast. That's why, I'm excited everytime something else pops up in Mount Pleasant and this spot... well, I'm not sure why I waited so long to go! This morning I stopped in around 8:15am, there were several customers carrying out as I was walking in, but not overly busy (mind you it's a work day). I ordered the Franklin Street breakfast sandwich, a dark chocolate strawberry latte (seasonal) and a blueberry danish. The latte blew my little tastebuds' minds. It tastes just like a dark chocolate covered strawberry. Not too sweet given it's dark chocolate, but soooo delicious and festive in advance of Valentine's Day. Will definitely be back to try their other seasonal flavors! The breakfast sandwich was also so yummy! The biscuit's just the right size, not too large, to balance the egg, bacon and cheddar and oh so savory. Haven't tried the danish yet, but I'm sure it'll be good too and I'm already convinced I'll become a regular! TL;DR: Highly recommend if you're in the area. Try it all and you won't be disappointed!

While I am giving Cafe Lentz 3 stars its not for negative reasons. I just was not overwhelmed to give it more than 3 stars. Was the service good? YES. One very hard working young lady was doing it ALL. Was the place nice? YES. Quaint. Clean. Outdoor seating with comfortable furniture. Was the food good? YES. But here is were I cannot give those two extra stars. The food was good, but for $9 I got a turkey panini and the pasta salad. It was pretty basic. Nothing over the top. And it was light on the amount of meat on it. And the pasta salad...well there was maybe two fork fulls. It came in a tiny...TINY...container. I hate I didn't take a picture but we all were giggling at the fact there was so little food for the price we forgot to take one. And like I said at the beginning, everything is nice, clean, friendly but for what we ordered, the food was very overpriced.

Coffee and attitudes from staff are hit or miss. Currently have been waiting for 30 minutes for one cup of coffee..... dirty tables. It's not that busy. Other people are asking for refunds.Don't recommend. We've had one good experience here out of 6 visits.

The place is super cute with such a good vibe but the food was terrible. I got a pimento cheese sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup. My husband got the chicken parm sandwich. The pimento cheese was incredibly salty and soup was cold. The parm sandwich looked amazing but was cold and salty as well. This was our first visit and will sadly be our last. It definitely was not worth $42 for lunch.

Ordered breakfast for myself and husband, simple bacon, egg and cheese, no aioli on either. Two parties came in after us and ordered - were served first. It was clear that they forgot our order and when we reminded them they copped an attitude - snapping at my husband with a nasty, give us a minute. Later brought out luke warm sandwiches that had aioli. Never again with this place.
