Cabo Fish Taco

Each taco was stuffed with fish and had a delicious flour tortilla. Usually I prefer corn tortillas because they have a better texture, but these flour tortillas were great! Honey Soy Glazed Salmon Taco (5/5): Such a great blend of flavors. The honey soy glaze was perfect for the salmon and I also really liked the honey wasabi sauce. The wasabi was very noticeable, but not overwhelming. The salmon was fresh and tender as well. GREAT taco. Fried Flounder Taco (5/5): Perfectly fried! The batter didn't overwhelm the fish so it still felt light while providing some fried flavor and texture. It also wasn't too salty which I really appreciated. The jalapeno tartar sauce was nice as well but could've been a bit spicier. I liked the slaw as well. *Daily specialBlackened Mahi Mahi Taco (5/5): Light and refreshing. The fish was tender and I loved the blackened flavor. Grilled Lemon Ahi Tuna Taco (4/5): Simple and tasty. The fish was good and was complemented nicely by the cabbage, guac, and sauce (I didn't mind the tomatoes either). Baja Shrimp and Crab Dip (4/5): The dip tasted a lot like crab rangoon. The pita was great! My husband and I have been coming to Cabo Fish Taco for several years and we have always enjoyed the food and friendly atmosphere but this last visit - on our first anniversary no less - was a giant disappointment and has me concerned about the integrity of the staff and management. We came in on Monday Dec 23rd and noticed that on the blackboard that it was Margarita Monday so when we got seated I quickly decided I'd get my usual the Queen city Margarita. We waited at least 10 minutes before our server came to the table & I ordered the Queen City after he explained they were $1 off. What he brought me was definitely not the Queen City margarita and when I told him it should have blood orange purée in it he took it back and returned very quickly with a pinkish drink with no puree but I elected not to pursue that. Then, our dinner came. We had ordered two appetizers and decided to split a blackened chicken & shrimp burrito. The appetizers came out ok and the burrito made it to the table at about the same time. I took a bite of the burrito and realized instantly that it was not what we ordered. There was no rice and beans, no shrimp, only chicken with some lettuce, a less expensive option on the menu. We alerted him right away and he picked up my husband's half, looked at it, put it down on the plate and stated that there was new kitchen staff that were not familiar with the menu. He brought us the correct burrito about 5 minutes later to bring home with us.I have a child in the food service industry and would never not tip a server for a mistake in the kitchen or at the bar but I think that the servers should be familiar with the food and drinks they're serving so they don't grab the wrong plate/drink or bring a bartender or cook's mistake to the table. Honestly, the whole meal should've been comped.UPDATE:The owner responded below, asking me to email him, which I did, but I did not get a response.

I got the shrimp tacos and salmon tacos and it was not a 10/10. The meat tasted fresh and so did the toppings, but i'd definitely recommend adding some type of sauce to go on top of the tacos.The environment and service was great!

Been stopping here for 14 years, each time we are in Charlotte. I always get the Honey Soy Salmon Taco, have never wanted to try anything else- it's always that good. I get excited about eating at Cabo Taco. There is a paid parking dirt lot behind the restaurant. Warm crispy tortilla chips come complementary with chunky corn salsa, which had always been fresh. Darling little covered patio area with the plastic walls and heaters in the winter. They also have my favorite beer Red Stripe ! (among others). In the Noda area so plenty of neat little shops on the street for walking off the queso, or just grab a coffee at Smelly Cat.

Friendly neighborhood restaurant with southern hospitality. They're known for their seafood tacos as clearly stated by their name. I ordered their lime shrimp tacos and their calamari. The tacos were excellent and came with your choice of sides, I got the plantains. Shrimp was plump and juicy and tortilla was really good too, loved the toppings also. The calamari was flash fried and so it was light and crispy, very good! Service was super quick and food came out very quick as well! Overall a lovely spot to get a nice lunch!

Not sure if we came on an off day but our visit, food, and drinks were just okay. Nothing amazing but also not terrible. My husband ordered Thai shrimp burrito and the Congelado (which is a frozen margarita) as his drink choice. He really enjoyed his food and rated it as a 4.I ordered a chicken quesadilla which was okay. But my drink, Azularita, was not good. Not even sure what was wrong other than it just didn't taste great.If you do come to Cabo's, definitely get the Congelado as it was delicious!

Been going to CFT for 20 years-always consistent, high quality offerings. Good sized portions and fantastic margaritas! Funky chill relaxing atmosphere make you think you're kicking it in SoCal!

Outstanding service. The burrito was delicious, the mashed potatoes with jalapeños was Devine, I wanted more but knew I shouldn't. Great spot for lunch

The staff was very kind and the food was super flavorful! It was busy so my friend and I were sat in a back area that felt a bit odd but was still well lit and decorated. The food is interesting, I've never had a queso like it before, I enjoyed it but my brain struggled to process it at first. The Rasta pasta was delicious but unlike any Rasta pasta I've had before, most notably it had pineapple in it. There was so much going on in the pasta it was delicious but I would be mindful if you're someone who has a weaker GI system as it did upset my delicate stomach a bit. My friend got tacos and loved them. Overall the staff was kind, the restaurant was nice, and the food was packed with flavor!

Greasy tortillas and very greasy fish, I have had many fish tacos and they are never this bad. Overrated place for the quality of the food. I would not come back
