Tried Cabo Fish Taco right before we went to see the lights in Ballantyne's Backyard. We had some time to kill and our waiter, Caleb, was cool with us sitting for a while. We ordered Baja Shrimp and Crab dip to start. Wow, was that good! The pita toast points were a bit much with it, but the chips that came with the salsa were great with it. For the mains I had the BBQ mahi tacos and my husband had the carne asada tacos and we both had Baja rice as our side. It was a lot of food, but so good!

The only thing solid about this visit was Isabella, our server. It feels cramped except in the back. The chips weren't warm and the salsa was not as hot as my dining partner would prefer.Had a couple go steak tacos. Goodness gracious great balls of gristle and fat. Obviously not high quality meat. The black beans had no flavor. No corn tortillas so the only real option for gluten sensitive is not to eat the tortillas.It was not what we had expected after having been here years ago - both the original NoDa location and this one.

I am a longtime fan of Cabo's. I frequent the NODA Location a lot and found myself in Ballantine around lunchtime. I remembered that Cabo had a location here so we made our way over. I am happy to say that this location is a great addition to the family. Same quality product that you get in the other locations and we really enjoyed our experience. Quite selfishly we asked the manager if there were plans to open a location at Lake Norman. Funny as one of the owners was actually there and came over to chat with us. I would recommend this location and would visit it again when I am in the area.

Cabo Fish Taco is our go-to spot for tacos and margaritas. I just love their fun, fresh flavors of the land and sea. I never venture outside of my usual Honey Soy Glazed Salmon taco but this time I did and WOW. The shrimp & chicken burrito had so much flavor and I really enjoyed the guac they throw in there. I got the sauce on the side for drizzling onto each bite and it was fantastic. Very filling, too! Also enjoyed were the lemon grilled shrimp taco and tavarua tuna taco. We loved it all! I also highly recommend the shrimp/crab dip with those toasted pita pockets. YUM. The el cheapo margarita is good for only $8 but I usually go for the skinny margarita. It just tastes so light and fresh to me.

We went into the restaurant on a Sunday night. The first thing I noticed was that there was a prevalent smell of old oil. Never a good start. The service was good. And the food was hot. The food wasn't great tasting though. Chips and salsa were brought out. The salsa ok. Not memorable. We had the queso...it tasted like off brand Velveta melted down. We also ordered beer battered fish tacos and chicken tacos. The taco shells were lightly fried and hot, the proteins were nice and hot and plentiful in the tacos. The food overall was mediocre though. Overall I wouldn't go back. We have definitely had better tacos many other places.

First time here and front staff was nice but took a little while to seat us, it seem like they were busy. It's pretty spacious inside and outside. The food I would say is a little pricey. I got the Diablo shrimp salad and it was good but definitely pricey. Nothing really to complain except for the fact our checks were wrong.

Cabo is always a pretty easy, casual option for us. Being right near Ballantyne Backyard is nice so we can grab a bite to eat before or after exploring the attraction going on in BB at the time. I am more of a traditional Mexican food fan but my husband and daughter are so-so and Cabo has more options that satisfy them :) Service is good but not fast so keep that in mind. Here's what we tried:A Little bit of Spice cocktail and the mango jalapeno margarita - both were delicious. Spice one was very light and refreshing and the margarita was on the sweeter side.Queso is always a must here for us.Kids meal was solid - huge portion of quesadillas and fries with a big cup of milk. And crayons with coloring page - always a win. We tried the blackened mahi, steak and fried shrimp tacos - all extremely delicious and filling. We got the plantains and jalapeno cheddar mashers for the sides - OMG. Both so good.Plenty of parking and outside seating - a nice option when in the area!

I enjoyed my lunch here. Huge building and a ton of room for all size parties. Dining inside and out. I ordered the grilled salmon and blackened mahi tacos. I asked for the salmon rare and it was excellent. I didn't really care for the mahi but the salmon I highly recommend. I also had the Mexican slaw which I thought was very tasty. It was a mayo based and had a great flavor. Salsa was full of corn but other than had an excellent flavor, too. Chips were good- not my fav but definitely good. Server was very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were very clean, too!
