Inexcusable steak butchering

My family of 5 visited Alchemy for Brunch.First, my wife and son waited 30 minutes for drinks, and when they arrived they were the wrong drinks. They both ordered iced Cinnamon Toast Crunch lattes, and both received a hot version thereof. As for the food, my daughter ordered her steak medium, and it was far overcooked. This is inexcusable - both to cook AND to present if you're a food runner - but she didn't want to make a fuss, so she kept it and ate half of it. In addition, the steak was butchered badly, with a far amount of unrendered fat. It's 4oz of strip, not an 18oz ribeye. Whoever was expediting should've had it recooked. Additionally, the fries were soggy, the eggs were far from over easy, the hollandaise was bland, and the steak-covering 'tomato aioli' (which looked or tasted like neither) just seemed a way to try to hide the mistakes with the steak. Please see the attached photos for documentation of her dish. The other food issue was with my wife's (beautifully plated) Japanese pancakes. When I've ordered these in the past - or made them, or even relied on the description in your menu - they've been light and fluffy. Generally, this is accomplished via folding in egg whites, which lends an airiness to the dish. Deflation is normally a concern, but not with yours. It was as though dense pancake batter was simply cooked in a ring mold.In terms of the service in general, it was subpar, to put it kindly. My eldest daughter never had her water refilled, and in general the waits were too long between checkups at each stage of the meal. And finally, the check. When the check arrived, it included three additional drinks beyond what we ordered. After pointing it out to the waiter, and him having it corrected, it still contained (contains, actually) an additional drink. Regardless, I went ahead and paid it, because everyone was annoyed and ready to go.Somewhat slow service I can understand, especially with the labor issues that have plagued service industries of late. I still tipped $22, because my wife and I both used to work in restaurants and understand that people should be paid a fair wage regardless. That said, a $170 breakfast - without alcohol - should be memorable... for good reasons.I'm giving it a 2, because the presentation was definitely instagram-ready. But it's been 5 days since I emailed them feedback, and not so much as an automated reply. So maybe even the 1 was undeserved...

I had been wanting to go to this place for a long time and finally went this past weekend. They specialize in making their menu friendly for all types of diets. It was so nice being able to go into a TRENDY/ nice restaurant and be able to order what I want. I'm used to going to these quick, casual, vegan restaurants so it was refreshing.Parking is a little confusing and crowded but it wasn't bad. I believe their parking lot was like one building down but we found a parking spot pretty quick. We went in around 1:30 and I believe we just missed the brunch crowd but it was still a decent amount of people and I did not feel like people were sitting on top of us. We sat at the bar because we didn't have a reservation which I didn't realize that we needed one. Still not sure, but the bartender and all of the other staff were very pleasant. The food came out at a decent time as you can imagine with plant based food, and was delicious. The mimosas I had were amazing. Very different. Can't wait to take all of my non vegan friends. I am so happy to be able to say that!

Stopped in here for brunch with a friend. The staff was more than accommodating and very friendly. My friend and I split the prosciutto de parma benedict and the japanese pancakes. I can't say enough about the eggs benedict! They were perfect. Also, a perfect size to split since there are 2 each of the benedict and the pancakes. A perfect pairing of salt and sweet. We also enjoyed a trio of various mimosas which were fantastic. The place is set next to a gallery and has a large outdoor area. I really hope this place makes it because I'd love to come back often for brunch!

My first time at C3 Lab was to attend the Charlotte TEDx event in October of 2015. Since tickets were sold out at the main venue, this innovative business chose to host a free viewing party - complete with complimentary cookies, drinks and other snacks.I met some cool new peeps as I browsed around their working art studio and I noticed that the offices for SocialFresh are also housed here. . . It looks like an awesome space to host events of your own although I'm curious how parking would work for sizeable groups (?)I was a little bummed that no one from the facility seemed to be there - so no one actually greeted me, talked about what C3 is, or showed me around . . . but there were a couple guys playing ping pong so maybe they were the ambassadors (and just got caught up in their game?)But it appears that you can rent a desk or an actual office and have shared access to a conference room in a copier machine and other standard business tools. . .so if you're open to co-working environments - this one seems pretty cool.

I attended my first Yelp Elite Event here last night, the facility was nice and spacious, the floors were average and there were couches and places to sit scattered throughout the venue which was nice to give your feet a break after a bit. I would have gotten a massage but the lines were way to long. The area of town it is located in is crossing over from the good to bad, which makes it a little sketchy but it's cool because I could have taken the light rail to get to this event last night if I had thought of it. Parking was a little tight because we arrived shortly after 7, but there was plenty of it - you just had to walk a little further.I was blown away with the amount of services that were at the event, and variety. Many restaurants I was familiar with but many others I wasn't. The variety was great. I won a free overnight stay at a boarding facility for my puppy and a great dentist to visit when needed. There were things to keep us busy from when the doors opened at 7pm, till they closed at 10pm - a awesome night for a donation made to the supporting non profit.I'm hooked now. I can not wait for my next Yelp Elite event!! :) :) :)
