"Wouldn't come back There are much better options in Asheville. Potatoes - heavy on spice. Salad - ok, not great. Small portions. Forgot what my friend got, but not the best."
"Ya know. Well. Usually I critique with long missives about a restaurant but I'm so utterly full of amazing, delicious food I must lay down. You'd think I was pregnant but at 80 it's impossible. Our first time here; for bunch! Fourth floor, elevator opens...TADA! Really charming decor with that kind of 'Kool' atmosphere you'd want when someone references Poppa, Ernest Hemingway! (He'd be very pleased.)Outdoor dining a must, especially if you want to catch the sunset view from here. Wowza!Oh yeah, the food? Well this restaurant is a keeper: the food was deliciously CUBAN. Can't wait to try everything on the menu!Like I mentioned, I'm going to lay down! Phew, full of terrific Hemingway, Cuban cuisine!I"

"We decided to visit because of Burger Week. Unfortunately, we found out after we ordered drinks that the burger week didn't start until later in the afternoon which wasn't a problem. The service was good and we didn't have any issues. The cider we ordered was a delicious blackberry. I would come back for the cider!Brunch menu was pretty subpar. We ordered the wings and the Hen's friends. The wings were alright. They didn't come with ranch or anything so we had to ask for that. The Hen's breakfast was pretty awful. The eggs were cooked correctly but the sausage wasn't cooked enough and the potatoes were l soft from them not cooking them long enough. I wouldn't order either option again if we came back. They did have a nice outdoor patio with some live music but the flies were pretty bad so I'd recommend sitting inside if you decide to make the trip."
"Came at a weird time so there were not a lot of people and we were seated right away and given menus. I wasn't going to get a drink but was curious because of how insane their bar looked. Their whiskey and bourbon menu is incredible if that's you're thing. Very large menu of cans, bottles, taps, and mixed drinks. Went for the fried green tomatoes for the app this time. Wasn't crazy about the idea when ordering because I don't normally like tomatoes but these were actually delicious. Had to stop myself from literally scraping the plate. I ordered the short rib sandwich and the meat was so tender, I just wish it had more of the horseradish sauce on it. Sidewinder chips are a must have for a side, crispy but fluffy and delicious. They even have an outdoor seating area with a large fireplace if it's a nice night. Give them a shot, but avoid peak hours as I've had to wait for a while before."
"The food is really flavorful here. It's suppose to be a little upscale fancy but for me it felt like casual dining. Great for a date night can be intimate setting but a lot of group families dine here. They need MORE waiters. I enjoyed the lamb chops. Portion size are small to average. My husband was still hungry when we left."
"Super cozy brewery with friendly service and great eclectic pub grub. Stopped in unexpectedly on a chilly Friday evening and had a wonderful experience. Sat at the bar and had a fun time learning about all their different beer offerings; bartenders were fantastic and super friendly. Enjoyed a few beers, the chopped salad with chicken, a flatbread and the giant pretzel; everything was delicious and my salad was crisp and fresh. Paired nicely with the beer however I don't remember which one I had (it was comparable to a Blue Moon). Also ordered the sweet potato app/side and they were unfortunately soft, soggy and flavorless; didn't even eat them after sampling and the bartender took the item off our bill which was a very nice gesture and also added that it wasn't their most popular menu item. All in all an enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend."
"We made an early dinner RSVP at 5:30 pm, so were seated right away. This time I ordered their Korean BBQ Mahi Mahi, which came with Sweet Potatoes and Edamame...and all of it was really good! Very spicy too, of course, with the Gochujang sauce on the fish. My husband tried their Cajun Fried Snapper...and he loved his dish as well. I love how they changed up the menu since last time with many new, juicy seafood options. We got this complimentary bread with red-based sauce, which my husband loved. We also ordered a cup of She-Crab Soup again. We thought they were a bit too salty, but good. I also tried this Blueberry cocktail, which was good...but not sure if I'd get that again. Service was good as well. Our waitress kept things moving fairly easily...and even a manager stopped by our table to check on our meal. The thing that disappointed me was that the ambiance was off. Maybe because we came too early, but the place was still a tad too bright, even as we were leaving...and there was no overhead music. I remember they played really nice overhead last time we were here. Also, the A/C wasn't too strong, and it was a super-humid day.Overall, we really enjoyed our meals here...and I'm sure we'll be back."

This restaurant is located right in the heart of Downtown Asheville, and I've been wanting to check it out for some time now...I made RSVP for 2 at 6 pm on a Saturday night...and it turned out that I really didn't need to, as the place was only a quarter full. The place was very spacious...and was appealing aesthetically. However, the ambiance just wasn't there. For starters, the place was a bit dark...with dim lighting, but it didn't create a romantic effect. Rather, it just felt depressing. Also, the overhead music was also dim...muffled even. It would have been much nicer if it was cranked up. In short, the vibe was all off. It just struck me as a place that was probably awesome in its heyday, but just isn't anymore.Service was pretty good though...no issues there. Now the menu was rather small...and maybe more American than French. For some reason, I expected more French? They didn't even have Creme Brulee...HUGE disappointment! In any case, I ordered this Burrata Ravioli with Shrimp, and my husband got the Brisket Short Rib Burger. I personally loved my dish...as it even had Vodka sauce (my favorite), yet my husband only liked his. I think he was put off by how the cheese spilled unto the bottom of his burger, making it all soggy. In any case, we thought the foods were good. I only wish there were more options on the menu...and again, I wished they had the Creme Brulee.BTW, I tried their "Love Potion" cocktail...and it was very small, but strong. It was O-Kay. I didn't like how they hid the pricing of these drinks. Like WHY? Also, many drinks featured on Yelp is no longer of the menu. Yet another thing that was offputting was the attitude of the hostess. She did not even flick a smile when we entered. I simply don't understand how a hostess could put up a rude, silent demeanor when a guest walks in. Isn't part of their job is to greet the customer...and at least TRY to be friendly??So yeah...the whole experience wasn't ideal. Again, the foods were good, but there were all these offputting things and the disappointments. Honestly, I thought about dropping 3, but I'll bump it up to 4, thanks to the delicious Burrata Ravioli.

Hemingway's was an amazing rooftop vista in downtown Asheville with great cocktails, cozy spots to chill, and impeccable service! We went for cocktails only- and the view- everything was amazing. We tried making it for live music - next time! Be sure to swing by Hemingway's the next time you're in downtown AVL!

Came here for lunch and its a brewery with sandwiches, wings, and bbq. The place is pretty big and can a bit loud. I tried the food and I was not impress. Cant really share much cos my expectation was high on the food but the reality was the food just okay.I might come back and give them another chance if I am back in Charlotte but most likely not.

We were passing through the area and wanted some good food before the rest of our 4 hour drive. Twisted Oak stood out to us because of their delicious looking menu items and charming decor. Safe to say we were not disappointed. The service was great and super fast. The food was on point. Better than either of us expected. If we ever return to the area we will 100% be back.

I've heard some good things about this place, so I agreed to meet some friends here for dinner.Well, I hit the place around 6 pm on a weeknight, and it was mostly empty. The place itself looked cozy...very woodsy, with lotsa comfy booths. However, there wasn't any music overhead, so the place felt a bit barren...lackluster.I've been craving Spanakopita for awhile now, so I was highly anticipating this! Well, sadly, it was probably the worst version I've ever had...worse than the ones I've gotten from grocery stores. The taste was totally off (for me, at least)...in that it was a mix of bitter and bland. The worst part? The pastry part was hardly there!! It was a very odd presentation of Spanakopita...in that it wasn't even a fully enveloped triangle...which didn't make sense to me. I mean, isn't a triangle the hallmark of a Spanakopita? Plus didn't get the weird wavy-crusty presentation overall. Was it supposed to be fancy...or did they just mess up?? Looked NOTHING like the other Spanakopita pictures here on Yelp. Anyway, it was just a minimal dose of pastry, too heavy with Spinach...and not a great flavor. Just very odd...and just very, very bad...priced at 8 bucks! Honestly, I wasn't really craving Souvlaki or anything Greek (aside from the Spanakopita), so I just ordered their Bolognese. Well, again, very disappointed with the flavor. Just flat...utterly tasteless! OMG...I expected so much more than this, given the high ratings here. I didn't want to be a "Debbie Downer" with the girls by expressing my true feelings for this appetizer lol, but downplayed it by saying it was just very "different"...but yeah, I was NOT a fan of their Spanakopita.Guess the only thing I enjoyed was their Mediterranean Mule...very tasty and strong. Service was just passable (if even that?). Our waiter barely checked up on us. Also, might mention that despite the fact that it was a small group of gals, the waiter botched up an order...and one of the girls had to wait extra 10-15 minutes for her corrected meal. Noone raved about the meal either...and I sensed that everyone felt that their meals were barely good...if even that. Also, given how bad the foods were, I felt everything was way overpriced for what it was. At least the drink and the conversation was good??Maybe it was an off night, but I just expected more from this highly rated place. Obviously, I don't think I'll be making any more trips over here.

We love all of Legion's locations, but this one gets bonus points for being walkable from our house :) Love their beers as always (Juicy Jay and Penguin Pilsner are personal favs). Their food menu is slightly smaller than the SouthPark location's, but there are still plenty of great options for sharing snacks or a meal with friends. Service is wonderful at all their locations (including this one) as well!We especially enjoyed the pretzel with beer cheese, brussels sprouts the very flavorful Mac 'n cheese, and the dip trio! The caprese flatbread was pretty good (was expecting it to be a bit fresher) and the roasted broccoli was just a tad dry (but still tasted good). Our favorite part of the experience was sitting out on their adorable patio and enjoying the nice weather - we love having Legion in the neighb!

So it turns out the young Chef in the back and I are kindred spirits. I had the day's special, which was a blackened salmon served over sweet potato grits. These grits were so delicious I had to ask Manager Joseph about them when he gracefully checked in on our table (not hovering, overbearing or over questioning, just a quick, quiet pulse check). The Chef had some leftovers and decided to get creative. And boy, did he create! It was like candied yams and fluffy grits in one dish. If you cook, you know that some of the best 5-star meals were made from scraps, an artistic mind and a palate for deliciousness. I would love to meet him one day when it's not so busy, but I know talking food with me the poor guy wouldn't get any work done.Oh, and I will not discredit Dawn, our Server. Great knowledge of the menu. Worked to satisfy us, but did not pull out the circus clowns. Beautiful and pleasant smile the entire time. This was our second time there, but with a smaller, more intimate group you get to see more, so you notice more. Definitely recommended! Definitely stays on rotation!Very pleasing, overall experience

What a beautiful experience! I was gifted a spa day for my birthday and Rock Barn did not disappoint. My Mom, daughter and I spent an entire day getting pampered. The service was amazing, the food was tasty, the pools were enjoyable. It was a great time. I had the Queen for a Day package which included a massage. The massage was not the best to me but everyone else enjoyed theirs. I will definitely return!

"This spa is my favorite place. The staff is always so welcoming and kind. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. The food is blah but the drinks and appetizers make up for their lack of good food. This spa is perfect for a solo trip, girls day, or with your loved one. You will not be disappointed."
"First time going to the market place and I'll say right off the bat they do a lot of things right here -- The restaurant itself is very nice and "homey" if you will... Good ambience, very spacious inside. There's a lot of nice decorations, and paintings for sale from (I assume) local artists. In the lady's bathroom there's a lot of religious art work and scripture related things, which I really liked. The outdoor seating is great as well. Over all "The Market Place" has a lot of personality My husband and I ordered 2 smoothies, the bacon and brei sandwhich, the roast beef sandwhich, the chicken salad croissant, and lastly a piece of cheesecake and chocolate cake (we were hungry in our defense haha) Upon checking in on yelp, we were also awarded with a free chocolate chip cookie! The sandwiches here are a definite 5 stars, and personally I highly recommend the bacon and brei. My husband and I were definitely more than satisfied. The wait staff here is also 5 stars. We were attended by nearly all the servers, as they do a shared tip/order system. Quick story - My husband ordered the monkeys breakfast smoothie, to which they informed us they didn't have anymore bananas so he would just be getting peanut butter, milk, and oats. He decided to order it anyway and the staff went out of their way to make sure he knew what he was ordering. They even made it, and let him sample it so he could decided if he liked it or not free or charge. In the spirit of full transparency IF I had to say ONE thing that wasn't 5 star about this restaurant, it would be how long it took to get our sandwiches.... There weren't too many people when we arrived, and we noticed that a table that sat down about 10 minutes after us, got their meal before we did. Since this was our first time and I like to air towards the positive, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume there was good reason for this, but because everything else was so great I'm going to give them the 5 stars. Overall good experience and great service"
"Better than expected. Enjoyed the chips and ranch appetizer. Nice setting and experience."
"Came here on a Friday around 3:30pm for a late lunch. There was no one else dining it at this time but we chose to sit outside. Service was good. The staff wore masks, hand sanitizer was available and I saw table cleaning/disinfecting happening. Food was good and the Groupon I had covered our nachos, calamari and steak bites (not pictured) leaving only a couple dollars left + tip. We ordered solely off the appetizer menu but portions were shareable. I can't say much about the place outside of that the food was good because again we were the only people there to dine and it was mid day. Overall nice lunch experience though."
"My husband saw this place mentioned in Southern Living and it was just off the interstate on our way to vacation. So glad we stopped for lunch. The barbecue was literally the best we ever had!! My husband got the sweaty pig sandwich and I got the rib and brisket plate. We had collard greens, coleslaw and fries. All were delicious!! The pulled pork on my husband's sandwich was plentiful and cooked perfectly. Moist with no fat or gristle. The collard greens were our favorite side ( even though the slaw and fries were terrific )! The ribs were meaty and tender and the brisket was melt in the mouth tender. Perfect with just enough fat for flavor! My husband proclaimed The Smoking Butt Head "the standard by which all barbecue will now be measured ". We plan on stopping in again on our way home!! Our waitress was great and our food was served quickly. We enjoyed local beer as well. Good music was playing overhead and they also have an upstairs venue that broadcasts NFL football games. Great place!"
"Thanksgiving at Willow Creek Inn. Location about 1hr from Fort Mill SC. The drive isn't difficult. In searching for somewhere to eat for Thanksgiving this discovery turned out to be a good choice. There were 2 dining areas and another room was used to set up the food item buffet style. Initially choice of beverages (included wines and signature cider drink plus other non-alcoholic beverages) were offered and then the different tables were directed to the buffet area. It was an orderly process. The only downside is that being the second to last table resulted in cold food. The salad type food items didn't seem to appeal to most people. A regular toss salad would have been better. Propane heaters helped with the chill in the air on the enclosed patio area. All in all a great experience with the minor improvement can make it 5 star rating. We agree we would attend again in the future."
"Five star course at a three star price. I absolutely love Rocky River golf club. The greens are always in immaculate condition even in the winter. One of the best and such an important feature that is not available at a lot of other golf courses is that they have navigation on the cart, and it doesn't just give you the yardage to the center of the green, it gives you exact yardage to the pin, the front and the back of the green. The course is challenging but definitely gives you an opportunity to score as well. If I have to nitpick, I will say that after a few days of rain the course can be very wet. I have noticed that is the case with a lot of other courses in the area as well but I do think the rain may hurt this course a little bit more. The facilities are great as well with a nice driving range and a great practice green. Since I have moved to Charlotte I have probably played approximately 35 rounds of golf, and about 25 of them have been at Rocky River. I kept coming back because of the value and how great the course is, but I definitely have to say I was always made to feel special when I would show up here. After my second time I would be welcomed with hello Sami how are you today? I definitely have to give credit to Joey and Christian, as those two gentlemen have been great to me since day one. If you have never played here I recommend you making it the next course you play."
"This beautiful course is built around Lake Wright. The area exudes natural beauty. My only tiny complaint is that some of the holes are spaced very far apart but if you are using a cart it doesn't really matter. The carts are equipped with a GPS mapping screen that relays an amazing amount of information to the golfer. It also has a screen where you can order food and beverages from the Champion Grill. The food from the grill is great. I suggest the Angus cheeseburger. Holes # 7 and 8 creatively bring water hazards into play.Several holes situated to insure that water comes into play. Bring a few extra balls- you may lose them in the water."
