"Aesthetic: Upbeat, bright brewery in the heart of Southend with a wide variety of beers on draft. My Favorites: It's not technically local, but I loved the Bludacris cider since it's gf friendly. Experience: We were waiting for a dinner reservation, and we decided to wait and have a drink at Wooden Robot. I've recently transitioned to gluten free, so the Bludacris cider was one of the only options I could have. It was delicious and not too sweet for a cider. The atmosphere was lively and bright, and we enjoyed our short hang out here. We will definitely try it again, when in Southend."
"Went for New Year's Eve party. They advertised it as an "all inclusive bar package" but when we showed up we were given 7 drink tabs. Fraudulent. Also, this was a ticketed event but we had to wait in line for AN HOUR to get in. They had one person at the door checking IDs and bags. The line literally went to the street corner. Once we finally got in, the place was practically empty bc everyone was outside waiting to get in. Horrible management, planning and execution for such an expensive event. For $125 + fees per ticket I should not have had to wait an hour to get in. Also they need to change their marketing because that was not an "all inclusive bar package". False advertising. The one positive I will say is that they had a lot of good bartenders so the wait for drinks wasn't bad. Save your money go to ink and ivy instead for a fun new year."

"Such a hidden gem in the NC vineyard tour! The stories behind the wine and learning some history while trying new wines was an absolute blast. My favorites were 'old dirt road' and 'share cropper's dream' the muscadine wines were fun to try too! Also they have local honey and cute gifts. They have such cute events planned throughout the year, check them out!"
"Lovely winery not far from CLT! We came here after a hike at Crowders Mountain, which perfect because from the outdoor tables, you can look out on Crowders. It was a Saturday afternoon, and there was a food truck on site, No Forks Given, which makes amazing cubanos and yucca fries. The line inside to order drinks was long, but the staff were friendly and efficient. I ordered the "Favorites" flight, which is Albariño, Red Blend, and Petite Syrah. The flights come with a branded glass that you can take home, which is so nice! I thought all 3 wines were tasty. My preference was probably the red blend, but honestly I'd drink all of them again. The setting is absolutely beautiful. Come on a nice day to enjoy the weather, wines, and views!"
"What an adorable venue! First time here and certainly won't be my last. I had the pleasure of attending a free jazz concert here and it was a vibe! Venue was spacious enough where we were all on top of each other. And the band was absolutely amazing. Not sure how often this venue hosts events like this, but I have seen ads for it before, just was my first time able to go. Loved every min of it."
"We made an early dinner RSVP at 5:30 pm, so were seated right away. This time I ordered their Korean BBQ Mahi Mahi, which came with Sweet Potatoes and Edamame...and all of it was really good! Very spicy too, of course, with the Gochujang sauce on the fish. My husband tried their Cajun Fried Snapper...and he loved his dish as well. I love how they changed up the menu since last time with many new, juicy seafood options. We got this complimentary bread with red-based sauce, which my husband loved. We also ordered a cup of She-Crab Soup again. We thought they were a bit too salty, but good. I also tried this Blueberry cocktail, which was good...but not sure if I'd get that again. Service was good as well. Our waitress kept things moving fairly easily...and even a manager stopped by our table to check on our meal. The thing that disappointed me was that the ambiance was off. Maybe because we came too early, but the place was still a tad too bright, even as we were leaving...and there was no overhead music. I remember they played really nice overhead last time we were here. Also, the A/C wasn't too strong, and it was a super-humid day.Overall, we really enjoyed our meals here...and I'm sure we'll be back."
"Beautiful venue for a wedding. A friend had the ceremony outside of then house, cocktail hour in one of the smaller rooms and the reception in a bigger hall. The staff was very efficient at cleaning up during the cocktail hour and reception. Parking was in a gravel lot, and the whole venue was very walkable. They had a fire pit outside and the view of the pasture behind the reception space was beautiful."
"Great venue for concerts, galas, exercise events - you name it, they've done it and done it well. There's plenty of bars so you can always be sure to find a drink for whatever event you're attending. Lots of bathrooms so you don't have to wait in a long line and typically always very clean. It's a small, intimate venue - so if there's an artist you want to see, go do it! I'd recommend VIP, as you'll have a nicer view. If you don't get VIP, get there early to get a good spot because it is standing room only and no reserved standing room outside of the VIP section, which is elevated."
"If you're into well done home town theater, Saturday movies, a yearly film festival (Real to Reel International Film Festival), and more than this is the place. The little theaters home is the Joy Performance Center in Kings Mountain, a center for cultural and entertainment in Kings Mountain."
"Landed a Groupon deal. We were lucky enough to go on a quiet day. We shared a nice bottle of wine and enjoyed the tree top view. Cute little vineyard"
"This place is the stuff of dreams and I have been looking for a reason to go and I finally had one with the etiquette of High Tea. The tea was lovely and it was a great refresher. I would love to attend again one day soon."
"We came to The Crosby Pub and Restaurant about 7pm on a Friday evening. It is located within the Village Inn Hotel and Event Center in Clemmons. It is conveniently located just off I-40 and Lewisville-Clemmons Road in the heart of Clemmons. We came here specifically to watch a colleague who is part of the local band, City Lights. It was great to be amongst my colleagues to support the band. The bar area features four taps as well as bottled beer, wine, and at least some hard liquor. I chose the IPA by local brewery, Wiseman Brewing, which was one of the options on tap. It has been my experience that prices in venues which are within a hotel/event center tend to be more expensive because they usually have somewhat of a captive audience. My IPA pints were $9.50 each plus a tip.We did see a few people ordering food and I did track down a menu to post. Overall, the venue was nice, clean and the staff was friendly. The band, City Lights was really, really good and we enjoyed ourselves. However, we do feel the prices were a bit steep."

Charlotte is a brewery destination. It seems like there's one on every corner. I visited more than a handful of different places during our visit to Charlotte, and Wooden Robot was a winner. For starters, the staff here was amazing. We sat at the bar, and there was a great rotation of bartenders who were super friendly and attentive. It seems like the ones I talked to were longtime employees, which I feel like says a lot about a place. Additionally, one of the bartenders even gave us recommendations on which other breweries we should prioritize - and we valued that opinion a lot! The space is huge - bar seats, high-tops, and a sprawling outdoor space make for a fun hang. To my surprise, they also have a bustling coffee shop attached. There's nothing I love more than beer and cold brew: an essential to my food pyramid. For beers, there were many enticing options. We had a Botbier (foeder-aged farmhouse ale), Good Morning Vietnam (coffee vanilla blonde ale), QC Gold (golden lager), Strawberry Swirl It (fruited sour), and Riwak n' Roll (New Zealand-style pilsner). The Strawberry was a dark horse - it was recommended by the bartender, so we sampled a 5 oz. It was TASTY! I'm picky about strawberry beers, but this one was just the right amount of sweet + tart without tasting artificial. I also deeply enjoyed the Good Morning Vietnam - I love a good coffee beer! Everything we had, I would drink again. There are TVs playing local sports, and there are some funny art and photo ops, if those are your thing. Wooden Robot is a must-stop amongst Charlotte breweries.

Family owned and run vineyard off the beaten path that is a must-see. We did a tasting for $12 and were able to sample all 9 wines! The owners behind the bar take time to explain each wine and share their story. I enjoy a nice glass of wine but usually pick a sweeter Moscato type wine, but I liked every single one of their wines. Normally, I found dry to tart, but these dry wines had such delicious, crisp flavors, I loved them. My personal favorite was the blackberry wine with Sanctuary a close second. In short, no matter what wine you get, you can't go wrong. This is a beautiful property. You can sit in a rocking chair and look out to the vineyard, the screened in porch, or grab a seat in the tasting room.

Two girlfriends and I were in the area for the Southern Christmas show and decided we needed some wine to get our ladies' weekend started. Veronet Vineyards had wonderful reviews so we headed that direction. What a great choice!!The weather was kinda icky, but inside, everything was warm and clean and inviting. We all tried some wine- I had the white flight and a cider mimosa. My friends had the apple cider specialty drink along with some wine, and we all shared a massive charcuterie plate. The wines were lovely, and the food was super tasty and very filling. Definitely a fantastic choice and in a beautiful location.

Great little playhouse in Pineville, NC. Slightly raised stage as you sit in floor level chairs. Very homey. You are just about on the stage, so the players and action are very intimate. You are part of the play. Amazing that the actors manage to not make eye contact with the audience.Very friendly staff. They serve limited refreshments during the intermission, but it is crowded inside, so you need to go outside to refresh yourselves. If it is cold outside, you do not have that option. They usually have a poster up with photos of the actors, along with their biographies. A good bit of information and for those of us who regularly attend plays, we see familiar faces and recall when we have seen those faces in previous shows. Interesting.More than adequate parking. Do recommend that you arrive early because it is floor-level seating so you will be looking over many heads if seated in the rear of the audience.A nice evening out.

So it turns out the young Chef in the back and I are kindred spirits. I had the day's special, which was a blackened salmon served over sweet potato grits. These grits were so delicious I had to ask Manager Joseph about them when he gracefully checked in on our table (not hovering, overbearing or over questioning, just a quick, quiet pulse check). The Chef had some leftovers and decided to get creative. And boy, did he create! It was like candied yams and fluffy grits in one dish. If you cook, you know that some of the best 5-star meals were made from scraps, an artistic mind and a palate for deliciousness. I would love to meet him one day when it's not so busy, but I know talking food with me the poor guy wouldn't get any work done.Oh, and I will not discredit Dawn, our Server. Great knowledge of the menu. Worked to satisfy us, but did not pull out the circus clowns. Beautiful and pleasant smile the entire time. This was our second time there, but with a smaller, more intimate group you get to see more, so you notice more. Definitely recommended! Definitely stays on rotation!Very pleasing, overall experience

We were here for my nephew's wedding. The plantation is nice location with several different buildings for special events. The wedding itself took place in the barn which has a rustic beauty to it. In between the wedding and reception, they served hors d'oeuvres in the Boulder Lodge which was quite charming. The reception was in the Stable Pavilion just a short walk from the barn and right next to the Boulder Lodge. It was nice having the ceremony and reception all at the same location. Everything was beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Well done Langtree Plantation!

Came here for a concert. It's been years since I've been here, and it has changed quite a bit. Now, the whole process of getting checked in went swiftly and smoothly. Everyone was super polite and knowledgeable. This is standing admission, so if you want to secure a good spot on the floor, you must arrive early. If not, you're really out of luck. We arrived and got in about 7:50pm, and we were out of luck. There was no way we could get into the space to try to even find a good spot. Now they put green tape where you have to be inside off so that walkways can be clear for when people need to go to the restroom or anywhere. We ended up updraging to VIP just so we could get a spot and sit down. It is further away, but you still get a good view. You're just not as close as you may want to be. Overall, it's not a bad location.

"I attended a Saturday afternoon wedding at this new facility on Highway 49 (see photos).I had no idea it would be an outdoor wedding until the day before so I was prepared. Many of the heels I saw were buried deep in the pebbles (not cute). They have a small private room in back of the restrooms for dressing. The ceremony took place outdoors facing the fountain on the lake followed by refreshments on the patio area. The reception took place in the hall and it was very comfortable. It is a nice facility for an event. What you need to be aware of: 1. The season. Canker worms were in full force during the ceremony.2. The railroad. Freight trains ran at east twice while I was outside. During the ceremony, however, none were heard.3. The pebbles in the walkway to the outdoor seating area. Remind your guests to dress appropriately."
"A real hidden gem in downtown Charlotte. Both a coffee bar and wine bar located on over 2 acres of urban garden. As you enter, you have no idea what is in the back. You order your coffee or wine ( We had beer..lol) and then you can stroll thru the gardens or just sit on one of the many sitting areas thru our the gardens. We went on a Sunday afternoon and waited about 15 minutes to order our drinks. There are no food options other than a few bags of snacks they sell along with bottles of wine.A real quant cafe/bar in Charlotte that is worth a visit."
"The staff is friendly and well... they have a bunch of cats, what more reason could you need?? They also have a lot of cute items for sale that seem to be sourced locally. I purchased a couple pairs of earrings, a cute little phone stand, and a sticker notebook. Everything was reasonably priced and good quality. There's also a great drink menu but I didn't try it out this visit. We browsed around a bit while waiting for our appointment time. I like that you can see the cats while in the main area and learn about them while you're waiting. They had about 15 cats if I counted correctly. Most were sleeping during our visit but there were a few that were willing to play. You can tell they're all well socialized and used to getting attention all day long as many were not interested in interacting. We also visited in the middle of the day and having owned cats before, I know how much they love their beauty rest and tend to be most active at night. So just be aware that you may find yourself wandering around trying to find a cat that is awake and willing to play or receive pets. They seem well cared for and the room has tons of toys and games for both humans and cats to enjoy. Everything was clean and I appreciate that they had a designated area for litter that was not within the visiting room. There was no unpleasant odors, which I know is always a concern with animals. There seems to have been a lot of thought that went into the set up and tons of cat themed items every where you look. I imagine it's a great hangout spot during the week when it's not as busy. I love supporting local businesses and especially those who help animals find their perfect home so I would recommend checking it out if you ever have the chance."
"I've had an opportunity to play this course for a few months now. The greens are always in good shape and the staff are very friendly and helpful. By joining here you also get the chance to play at Rock Barn as well. I had a golf lesson with the head pro Andy today. He simplified my swing and had me swinging better in 15 minutes. Getting a tee time to play is extremely easy and the pace of play has been great. I can usually play a round in 3 hours. I highly recommend giving it a try."
"Absolutely perfect place to host your wedding! Beautiful event venue with so many accommodations!"
"Goldie's opened about a month ago in LoSo, and like many new businesses it did really well on some things and was rough on others. The high points first. The people who greeted and served us were cheery and engaging, and the manager took pity on us in the heat and let us in a few minutes before official opening time. I appreciated their demeanor and willingness to offer suggestions about what to eat and drink. Everything was spotless, and though it features live music I suspect it'll be a great place to catch a football game this fall. Food-wise, the appetizers were very good, especially the pork rinds, and getting fried Oreos outside of a state fair was bonus material. I still regret not trying the pretzel bites...next time. The not-bad but not-great included the prime rib sandwich, which with a small side was $20. It wasn't bad at all but it wasn't memorable, either. In value, quality and size it compared poorly with others in the area, especially Cheat's. The 4-Cheese Mac was...acceptable at best. Little disappointed it wasn't better, but probably good enough for people who don't think mac and cheese is the best food in the world (like I do). The low point was definitely the Born in the USA sandwich, a soggy thing with Alabama BBQ rotisserie chicken and way too much cole slaw. My husband also found two bones (which he informed me about after we'd left, so I couldn't insist he return it). The supposedly tangy Alabama BBQ sauce was indistinguishable from plain mayo, so the result was pretty flavorless. We also found it curious that a bar didn't have soft drinks on tap. Canned beverages only. A little thing but little things add up. Like no ketchup with the side of fries, and none offered. (Not a fries girl but c'mon. This is America. Ketchup with fries is de rigueur.) No napkins or eating implements with the appetizers and none to be seen for easy access...also kinda weird for a place without waitstaff. Like I said, it's the little things. So all in all, I can recommend Goldie's as a place to hang out, listen to music and get some snacks and drinks from their fairly extensive bar offerings. The place is appealing, the service dependable, but as a restaurant it hits square in the middle of the rankings. I'd give it a high three stars but I just can't bring myself to give it four stars, not with bones in the shredded chicken and horseradish sauce less horseradish-y than Arby's Horsey Sauce. If you expect decent food and drinks in a sparkling new venue, Goldie's is fine. It's more music club and bar than eatery, and as long as that's what you're looking for, you won't be disappointed. Your mileage may vary. But at the very least get the fried Oreos. :)"
"The bar has a clean modern vibe and is dog friendly. I guess if you can't go out without your dog, you have a great place to hang out. If you are able to go out without your dog, watch your step, you do not want to step on Fido's tail :-).The patio is nice, but it was a cool night with only 1 of the 4 heaters on."
"This a hidden gem right in Uptown Shelby. Beautiful 3 level event space. Nicely decorated and furnished. Food and drink was good. Staff was nice and helpful."
"We've been to Carrigan Farms twice now; once for apple picking and the second for pumpkin picking. Both times were a roaring success for the entire family. Everyone who works here were just lovely and helpful. Both events included a hayride out to the picking area and back, and a visit to a tiny petting zoo. The apple picking includes a 5 lb bag for apple you pick and the pumpkin picking is any pumpkin in the field. Both times we all were satisfied with what we got. We had to make reservations on their website with a small cash deposit beforehand and then pay the remainder in cash on the day of. That was smart, because it controlled the flow of people at the event. They have other events throughout the year and we are looking forward to them!"
"What a great spot for an anniversary weekend ! we had a lovely suite with an amazing view, and a soak tub. Pool was great and the people were really nice. I'm really glad we stayed here for our special weekend."
"Thinking of buying a home in this area so stopped to visit the gold club. Very nice and met some really friendly home owners. Now to jut find a home lol"
"Site of the Get Lucky Yelp EventWent to my first Yelp even which was help here two day ago.Really enjoyed the event. Space is very condusive to creative venues and the staff is great.Has great potential but let's see where it goes."
"Absolutely adorable place to take your kids for a play date, birthday party, or to just get some energy out. We were invited to a birthday party here and I was so happy with how clean everything was! The kids had a blast while the parents were able to relax and chat. Everything was safe for toddler through young child play. We'll definitely be coming back soon!"
"We hosted a graduation party for some Wofford students last weekend. The Light Building was the perfect venue. It is clean, comfortable and offers something for everyone. The grandparents had plenty of seating and the kids loved the pool table and hoops! Stephanie was great to work with and made our evening easy to plan! Thank you!!"
"The Willoughby Compound is an exceptional experience. We were welcomed by Mr. Willoughby with open arms. He is very hospitable and continually upgrades safe projects on the compound to accommodate visitors needs. If you want to camp out with your family, have an upscale event like a wedding, or just want to take yourself to a peaceful place to retreat make the Willoughby Compound your destination."
"might be too late to meaningfully review this place since they are officially closed in their most recent incarnation but sometimes that happens. turns out that it wouldn't have mattered much anyway since I've only been a couple three times and I'd learned they were closing on the second a week ago... sorry.this was actually a very nice place place that seemed a bit pretentious at first (it was more the customers than the business) but was certainly a better establishment than this town rates. didn't sample the kitchen menu but the cocktails were top notch from the inspired drink menu to the old guy drinks of legend. even though it was situated in the currently sprawling jackassery of 21st century lake norman this place just felt right.on the plus side, the note in the window suggests this is a temporary setback so keep an eye on this spot and their social media..."
"I visited the Big Chill for a concert. This is a simple venue that can be spruced up for a special occasion, but stands on its own visually. This was a candle light night, which was more of an initiate setting. There was a bar set up with limited options for drinks. There was not food, but they allowed food to be brought in from the outside, and they're near a restaurant. Overall, it was a neat experience. I think that the staff worked for a private event business, not necessarily the venue. So there's a good chance your experience may differ."
"This little chapel is more quaint than you can imagine. From the outside, it looks like a humble building without any bells and whistles or even modern amenities. Though surrounded by a beautiful plot of greenspace amid busy Kings Dr, 4th, and 3rd St. I've been to a handful of weddings here and they have all been spectacular. For those seeking a smaller ceremony with an intimate feel, and perhaps more of a less modern or dated feel, St Mary's is perfect. A bit of a bonus is the connection to the Little Sugar Creek Greenway. You're maybe a hundred yards from steps that take you onto the path. The whole site is run by CharMeck Parks & Rec and they do a darn good job of keeping it pretty. Love this spot!"
"Stunning golf course for the entire family! We had a blast riding around with our kids and showing them the ropes of playing golf. The mountains surrounding the course are absolutely breathtaking. Best part is that it's open year round so you don't have to stop playing golf in the winter... most places around here close with the cold weather."
"This is a pretty place to get hitched... They've redone the courtyard with a really nice stone layout... There is a literally a gravel pit in the back of the area for your smokers and a couple of wrought iron benches... The food was okay... It wasn't the worst I've had at a wedding, but it also wasn't the best... The fruit was fresh, the roast beef was flavorful and whatever sauce they had on the meatballs was pretty good... No one knows what it was, though... lol The ceremony and reception were both outside and it was a beautiful day, so that was great... They needed a little time to flip the space, so I figured they would have us go inside for the cocktail hour, but they kind of let us meander around the property... There's a really nice wrap around porch and all, it wasn't bad, but I kind of felt like I was in the way a bit since they had to set up around us... There's a nice mini field of lush grass directly across the street where you can go for pictures and it looked like they got some great shots, so I'm sure the bride and groom will be excited about those... The meh parts? Well, here they go... A couple of the beers we ordered were old... I'm talking 2010 and 2011 old... No one got sick or anything and once they were aware of the issue, they offered replacements with no questions asked... I thought they handled it well, but they should definitely check their inventory a little more thoroughly... And look, I know where I am... This is the South... And I'm sure this house was a plantation quite some time ago... But I still have to say, the pictures in the men's room were a definite topic of conversation what with the slaves, confederate flag and all... The rest of the décor was nice and I understand it's their property, so they can put up whatever they like... That was kind of a sad distraction from the rest of the happy day, though... Overall, it was a decent place... I'm not sure how much it runs for, but they have nice hardwood floors, the staff was very accommodating and the courtyard was picturesque... Just watch out for the parking lot, ladies... It is ALL gravel, so either walk in pairs or bring some flats... (Especially if you're a smoker...) Stilettos might not end well... lol"
"I was excited to check out this new Italian restaurant while visiting my friend who lives in Belmont. We had reservations for four and were promptly seated upon arrival. Fresh bread immediately arrives as well as filtered water. Our Server, Liz D was prompt and took excellent care of us - not overbearing but always there if we needed anything at all.I started of with a Lemon Drop Martini - Not one of their speciality drinks, but they were quick to make one for me. Next time I would choose one of their speciality drinks menu. They also have a nice wine and beer selection. For my meal I chose the Fettuccine Alfredo and added chicken. It was nothing short of delicious - nice rich flavor and a large portion that I was unable to completely finish. I finished off with an amazing Creme Brûlée. I believe without a doubt it was the best ever. Nice ambience, an amazing staff and delicious food. Give it a try, I don't believe you'll walk away disappointed."
"This place is absolutely stunning. Beautiful grounds to have a wedding or a special event. I went for a fundraiser event, and it was a beautiful day to walk along the beautiful grounds. They do have a couple indoor bathrooms and they also had a bathroom trailer set up as well. Would highly recommend this place."
