"I've officially gone to mozelle's twice, one for brunch and one time for dinner. Thoughts? Brunch is a bit overrated with items could probably get anywhere. Now dinner?? Super worth it. Love the pastas, really enjoyed the burger. Also highly recommend the sale flight! It was a chillier day so they provided personal heaters by our table outside which I appreciated! Service tends to be slower when you're outside and by the corner rather than closer to the restaurant. A very cozy dinner spot is what I recommend!"
"Lovely ambiance with very good food. I had the halibut and a baby lettuce salad. Both were excellent. The salad was not overdressed with the dressing. The halibut was perfectly cooked and beautifully complemented by the saffron sauce.Service was excellent, friendly, but not obtrusive."

"Southern Roots in Jamestown is a gem that blends Southern charm with incredible culinary experiences! From the moment you walk in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere sets the tone for a fantastic meal. The menu is packed with a variety of options that cater to every palate, but the Pimento Cheese Fritters are an absolute must-try--crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and served with a perfectly tangy dipping sauce. For mains, the Shrimp and Grits is a standout, with creamy grits and perfectly seasoned shrimp that hit all the right notes. The drink menu is equally impressive, with a great selection of craft beers, wines, and creative cocktails. The Southern Belle Martini pairs wonderfully with their dishes and is a treat on its own.To top it all off, the service is impeccable--attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Whether you're here for date night, a family dinner, or a casual outing, Southern Roots delivers on all fronts.Highly recommend stopping by to experience it for yourself!"
"My wife and I are in town for a wedding and house shopping. This was our first visit. We stopped in early afternoon to make reservations for dinner and the hostess was very helpful. Our server was excellent I wish I remembered his name. My family and I split a meat and cheese board which was excellent. I had the Rueben. I am very particular about my Rueben's but I have to say it was one of the best I've ever had. My step son had the fried chicken and my wife had the scallops. They said their dishes were also top notch. We will definitely be back!"
"The food was delicious. I don't think I have had better mushrooms than the side dish they offer."
"My Friendly's was so yummy! It was our first evening in town and I'd made a booking for the 4 of us for dinner. I knew we'd be seeing my son for graduation in the coming days and admittingly hoped I hadn't just made the best dinner plans without him in attendance, it was so tasty I began to feel bad being there without him. Luckily, we did share some other great places with him.I started with a chocolate orange old fashioned, creature of habit ;) It was great! My son teases me about how much I love dark liquor and it's true. This drink reminded me of something I'd had at Jameson, in Dublin so I had to try it.We shared the fried green tomatoes to start with, and they were fantastic. I love that they sandwiched pimento cheese in-between the stack of them. Two of my favorite items, in one dish.My bestie and I went halfsies on two entrees because we wanted to try the meatloaf but I also wanted catfish. Our two entrees were delish!!! We love meatloaf and make it often, but we always try to make it a little "healthier" and use turkey meat so having Mr. Friendly's was a REAL treat. My bff mentioned it really didn't need the sauce, which is true it's solid on it's own but I did like sauce. Their collards, grits and mashed potatoes are all very yummy too.I think my Mom had the oysters and my sons girlfriend had the grit cakes, but in all honesty I can't recall. We had just had wine and light bites before we came here, but my appetite is non stop unlike most normal peoples. My drink and two entrees were so delish, they were my sole focus but I think my Mom and my sons girlfriend enjoyed their choices as well.Service was great and very friendly too :) I would definitely recommend dining here. I'm so grateful we did."
"Wouldn't come back There are much better options in Asheville. Potatoes - heavy on spice. Salad - ok, not great. Small portions. Forgot what my friend got, but not the best."
"I sometimes come to Charlotte to meet with my clients and found the Eagle last spring. The food is very good. -Fried chicken. What they are known for. Really good.-Spoon bread. Amazing. I got an extra order to bring back home to Los Angeles for my kids. -Burnt ends- very good.-Shrimp and grits- very good.-collared greens- very good. One area they could work on is table service. Our table was a booth behind the bar where we were told the bartender would be our server- except the bar tender seemed busy and didnt stop by often. Maybe they had a server out sick that night?"
"Tried this place for the first time, and it somehow fits the plaza midwood vibe perfectly. Walk-in in, you are transported back in time, but in the best way possible. The service was friendly and prompt, and they even have high chairs for kids! We started with the hush puppies, which arrived fresh from the fryer with that slightly sweet, fried goodness. Add a little butter on top and they were great! Then the main course arrived, the 2/3 lb burger. Well prepared and full of flavor, my only regret was I didn't savor it more when consuming. Great place to enjoy, especially later in the evening after having a few drinks, definitely a must try!"
"Delicious spot on Montford with your meat plus sides. Be sure to check out the daily specials. I had the BBQ meatloaf and it was enough to feed a small family. Love the sweet potato mash too. Servers are friendly and will bus the table for you."
"I ordered via uber eats, it initially said pickup was 20-30 minutes but after placing the order it changed to 60-70 minutes. I get it, they're busy, but knowing that up front is important. Overall, the food is good. Wings- I got the lemon pepper: definitely lacking flavor. Shrimp- amazing!Fish- kinda rough but it was good. Lobster mac and cheese- ok, it has to be a mix of a little lobster and a lot of imitation crab. Regardless, thoroughly enjoyed. The mac and cheese itself is divine, the seafood or imitation just adds to the yum!Strawberry banana pudding- idk, personally I'd prefer just regular banana pudding as the strawberries were minimal (2 small pieces) and then the strawberry syrup on top didn't add anything to the dessert. In conclusion- I will be going again! Staff is friendly and they definitely are trying to get the orders out but when I was there 8 of us were waiting, needless to say this business is blessed and I can see why!"
"Food and service was very good and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant is also pleasing to the eye."

Amazing food & the atmosphere is exactly the chill I needed. We sat at the bar and it was comfortable & fun to watch the dance of the kitchen. We had the edamame hummus appetizer, tomato pie & meatloaf. All had fantastic flavors.

Absolutely delicious, pricey, but delicious for sure! Stephanie was our server and she was so fun and knowledgeable! So what did we eat?! We started with an old fashion which was really good! They muddled the orange peel and cherry just a little bit- it was perfect. Also tried the orange crush. I could have drank a pitcher of them! It was sweet but not overly sweet. Had fresh orange peel and a bit of spice to it. I will definitely be craving these!THE BRUSSELS SPROUTs!! Even if you don't like them- I swear these will convert you lol no lie I wanted to order another plate of them. The but of char with the perfect amount of seasoning and a drizzle of goddess dressing. Honestly I can't love them more! We also indulged in the grilled shrimp, beef short rib, and Au gratin potatoes. The only BAD thing I can even come up with, is that I wanted larger portion of the short rib for the price, but mainly because it was the best short rib I've ever had. The au gratin was creamy and light with just the perfect amount of browned cheese on top. Starving just thinking about it all. But that wasn't all- I couldn't leave without dessert. The chocolate torte w butter pecan gelato was the perfect balance to the whole night. The torte was sweet and creamy. Not too dense. The gelatos really balanced out the chocolate - true compliment to each other!

Southern roots has been a go to for me for date night and girls night out for over a decade! If I want co distantly delicious food and service, I know this is where to do. I've been obsessed with their pulled pork quesadilla and cornbread for as long as I can remember. I'd love to try other apps but I just can't because these two are so good. It was my first time trying steak and I have to say it was seasoned and cooked to utter perfection. My go to sides are always grits and okra and you can't convince me to get anything else. Just so so good. The only thing is they don't take reservations so make sure you either get there early or be prepared to wait, but it's worth it!

We arrived at 5:30 pm, but the place was already halfway packed. There were several seats (at least half a dozen?) open in the main room. Still, we were escorted to the back room since the remaining tables were supposedly booked by folks that made reservations. The back room was cold and had this stark, uncozy ambiance (possibly due to the raw flooring?)...despite some good art on the walls. Also, the hard chairs were not comfy in the least. Oh Well. This time, we started with the Fried Calamari appetizer...then we decided to share a plate of Short Rib, along with a side of Brussels Sprouts. Then ended with their version of Creme Brulee. For drinks, my husband got some beer, and I tried this mocktail, Summer Berry Splash (or something like that).Well, as always, everything was DEE-Lish. Unfortunately, the presentation of all the dishes, from appetizer to dessert, was just NOT good. Very sloppy! Maybe they got too busy in the kitchen to care??Not only crudely presented this time, the Short Rib dish was just a lesser version than the last time. The meaty portion seemed smaller, and there was definitely less Risotto...and this time, the carrots were just yellow...not a mixture of orange and yellow carrots. Good thing that it tasted just as good...though it didn't look as good. See both pictures of this Short Rib (last year, and today), and you'll see what I mean. My husband was very disappointed with the Creme Brulee. The crust wasn't hard enough...nor warm enough. The entire dessert was cold! Plus, what's up with the topping? No strawberries or blueberries...just cream??Hostess was somewhat snotty in attitude and borderline rude, but the waitress was quite friendly and courteous.Obviously, there were some disappointments this time. As much as I like this restaurant (one of my faves in Rock Hill), I wasn't too impressed this time. The entire dining experience was sub-par...and the food presentation was bordering terrible. Am truly hoping that it was just an off night...so I'll just dock 1 star this time. Hopefully I can upgrade this review on a future visit.

In town for the day. I was able to get a 5:15 reservation called 10 minutes before opening. Host was very friendly. We loved everything. The ambiance, food and customer service were all fantastic. I will definitely visit again when in town.

This restaurant is located right in the heart of Downtown Asheville, and I've been wanting to check it out for some time now...I made RSVP for 2 at 6 pm on a Saturday night...and it turned out that I really didn't need to, as the place was only a quarter full. The place was very spacious...and was appealing aesthetically. However, the ambiance just wasn't there. For starters, the place was a bit dark...with dim lighting, but it didn't create a romantic effect. Rather, it just felt depressing. Also, the overhead music was also dim...muffled even. It would have been much nicer if it was cranked up. In short, the vibe was all off. It just struck me as a place that was probably awesome in its heyday, but just isn't anymore.Service was pretty good though...no issues there. Now the menu was rather small...and maybe more American than French. For some reason, I expected more French? They didn't even have Creme Brulee...HUGE disappointment! In any case, I ordered this Burrata Ravioli with Shrimp, and my husband got the Brisket Short Rib Burger. I personally loved my dish...as it even had Vodka sauce (my favorite), yet my husband only liked his. I think he was put off by how the cheese spilled unto the bottom of his burger, making it all soggy. In any case, we thought the foods were good. I only wish there were more options on the menu...and again, I wished they had the Creme Brulee.BTW, I tried their "Love Potion" cocktail...and it was very small, but strong. It was O-Kay. I didn't like how they hid the pricing of these drinks. Like WHY? Also, many drinks featured on Yelp is no longer of the menu. Yet another thing that was offputting was the attitude of the hostess. She did not even flick a smile when we entered. I simply don't understand how a hostess could put up a rude, silent demeanor when a guest walks in. Isn't part of their job is to greet the customer...and at least TRY to be friendly??So yeah...the whole experience wasn't ideal. Again, the foods were good, but there were all these offputting things and the disappointments. Honestly, I thought about dropping 3, but I'll bump it up to 4, thanks to the delicious Burrata Ravioli.

I have been to The Eagle multiple times. This time I was there as part of a party of 14 people for my best friend's birthday. We all came in prepared to order whatever we wanted when someone mentioned the Family Style option where it's $24/person and you get fried chicken and multiple sides served shareable/family style. We all decided that the food sounded good and like an easy painless option, and boy was that the truth! Every dish was so good - I may miss something but we had at minimum fried chicken served with a hot honey (amazing!), Mac and cheese, hush puppies, collards, kale salad, corn bread and buffalo chicken dip. All of our drinks were great too, and service was on point, especially for a large party. Can't wait to go back for this type of meal again!

"Always love going to Mama Zoe's. Their selection of daily soups always offer a great variety of choices. I had the chicken souvlaki plate and it was really good."
"Pretty good, just a lot of food so come hungry. Daughter and I were in the area and went for an early dinner pretty average service but good food."
"Im not sure what happened here but Village Corner is definitely not a tapas bar any longer regardless of what the description in Yelp says about this restaurant. While it's still a casual restaurant, with pretty good service, it's more of a sandwich restaurant but not quite a delicatessen. I'm guessing their old business model wasn't working out and just adjusted. It has both indoor and outdoor seating and seems like a nice place to relax with friends. Our visit this time just consisted of two sandwiches and a couple of beers. The "Hot Hot Chicken Sammy" is described as a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich but it definitely isn't a Nashville. It's a decent chicken sandwich covered in a moderately spicy sauce that I think would taste good on wings. It came with fries that had what I think was a Cajun style seasoning which gave it a nice kick. My wife had the "Village Club" which was very good with the sourdough bread but I thought it tasted a little different. It took me a minute but I realized there was Swiss Cheese on the sandwich which I thought was odd for a Club but it actually tasted good. It also didn't have the extra slice that of bread in the center of the sandwich which, in my opinion, is an essential part of a club sandwich. It was good regardless. This restaurant has changed numerous times over the years but it's a decent place to grab some lunch."
"Uptown Yolk is easily one of the best brunch spots in Charlotte! The food is absolutely delicious,, with rich flavors and perfectly cooked dishes that make every bite worth it. Whether you go for the classics or something a little more creative, you won't be disappointed. I typically go for the Double Up and add a pancake or the super delicious sweet potato waffle! The service is friendly and efficient, even when the place is packed. Yes, there's often a wait, but it's well worth it! If you're in a hurry, the bar is first come, first served, which is a great option if you don't want to wait for a table. There is also the option of takeout.Highly recommend Uptown Yolk for a top-tier brunch experience in Charlotte!"
"Nice and lively - with live music!Very friendly service but slow because it was a busy Saturday night. The food depends on who you ask! We are a party of eight and some really enjoyed their meal but others didn't. The burgers were over cooked; the short ribs were great; the shrimp and grits were perfect; the chicken pasta was good; the tuna tar tar chips were good."
"Old soul...Freshwaters is the definition of tradition, from the "Mrs. Freshwater will come greet you" to the lack of substitution/creativity you can have with the menu (because the chef doesn't make it "like that"). These are not slights to the restaurant, just observations of what feels like a much older establishment. Let's start with the ambiance, which feels like classic after church dinner, but also we just took over this Chinese buffet dining room. The only thing missing is a dragon sculpture and water fountain. While the interior can be a bit confusing considering they are serving traditional cajun mixed with soul food fare. It doesn't hinder what the owners are trying to deliver, which is southern hospitality and homemade simple dishes. Some of those simple dishes include, catfish, fried chicken, ribs, and a lot of delicious sides. So many in fact I had a plate of just sides that included collard greens, yams, mac and cheese, and cabbage. The cabbage was a stand out and paired perfectly with my fried fish. While you are trying to settle on a particular dish, there are cornbread muffins with a side of butter delivered promptly to your table. Overall I thought the Swai was very meaty and "unfishy" which may seem strange but thats the only fish I'll eat. Some of your other options are rainbow trout and catfish.Freshwaters is in a great location near the music factory by Graham street. The parking lot is large and you don't have to pay to park, that's a relief consider it's still so close to uptown. With such a great location, wonderful food and customer service...that makes it a bit of a Charlotte sleeper when it comes to people's favorites in the Queen City.Customer service was superb! Our host Devin was not only knowledgeable, but was very open and honest about her favorites menu items. She was personable and friendly, I felt very confident with my food choices and they turned out incredible. If you go, ask for Devin if she's not busy being awesome somewhere else.Pro Tip: Tell them it's your first time! Mrs. Freshwater herself will greet you and give you something of a secret menu (chef specials and such). I personally think thats a great touch, but also what Freshwaters is...good people and great good."
"Good food, lots of options, attentive service, fair prices. Family atmosphere. We had breakfast a nd enjoyed it."
"Copied from my other account that I am closing out to consolidate all here. A truly wonder place for upscale special intimate dining in NC's Queen City. "A rather pricey experience but wonderful for romantic special occasion / dinning / date / celebrating. Two 4 course meals with wine came to $550. -- In home built by the Vanderbilts. Residence of Charlotte Mayor McNinch back in 1890s. His ancestors renovated the house and with it did it historically correct. Original glass in the windows, warbly. Authentic touches. Routinely rated amongst America's best restaurants. The kind of sweat one's. They remedied with Martini's much better matching our desire. Appetizers and palate cleansing treats in between. Some most food was stellar and some just good have had better. The Fillet was good but not especially seasoned or tender so have had better experience elsewhere. But for the price it should be best in class. Everything else was stellar especially the service. The sommelier was pleasant, explained much with enthusiasm and professionalism. Wines were perfectly paired. I would definitely consider returning to celebrate something special.""
"An eager to make you happy menu with a friendly team of locals and staff to ensure a good experience. We had the burgers, the pastrami, the grilled chicken breast with the artichoke sauce, and it was all really good, and that chocolate cake was to die for I am not a chocolate cake fan. I never ordered. Somebody brought us a piece and it's real old school style. It's not that dark, dense death by chocolate, which I don't care for this was light and almost like a spice cake, I would definitely go back for that. We enjoyed ourselves and it's great to see locals running a successful restaurant in Lenoir."
"Great clean restaurant and tasty dishes. Service was also top notch. Great place to eat in Kings Mountain!"
"Biscuit Belly is my go-to brunch spot when I'm craving some comfort food or non-Southerners are here for a visit. I've been lucky to snag parking in the lot, although it can get full. Once inside though, it's a fast, smooth process of ordering at the counter and taking your number to your table. Once your food & drinks are ready, they are brought directly to your table by a friendly staff member, who asks if you need anything else. Everyone who works there seems to really enjoy it. Inside, the aesthetic is bright with colorful murals on the walls, as well as branded merch for purchase. There's a good variety in the menu, from coffee drinks to breakfast cocktails, sweet to savory options. Most recently, we were impressed by the tenderness and flavor of the brisket biscuit. And biscuit French toast with fried chicken was a brunch dish I never knew I needed. Pro tip: download the Biscuit Belly app before you visit, and redeem your free order of bonuts (biscuit donut holes)! They come out hot & fluffy, and both the icing and jam for dipping are amazing."
"CJ's Olde Towne holds a special place in my heart. Located in the heart of Asheboro, near the hospital and the well known restaurant, The Table. It is the opposite of The Table however. It is not modern, nor does it host innovative dishes, but what it does have is an old timey feel with a large menu of comforting dishes. Everyone seems like a regular. Their pancakes at breakfast time are the biggest I've seen locally, and their specials menu always hosts a plethora of cozy dishes (my favorite being the honey mustard chicken). When my grandparents were alive and my grandmother worked at the nearby hospital, we would meet them when I was a child so being able to visit with my children now gives me warm, nostalgic feelings. I got to tell my girls that this is where we would meet their great grandparents when "mommy was a little girl." So while CJ's may not be for everyone, it makes me happy being able to visit and have a taste of my childhood."
"1st time visiting but not last when in the area. Good, hot, well seasoned, made to order variety soul food. Friendly staff. Very clean facility but dated. We ate in but noticed most people were ordering to go or through delivery services. My husband was dying for some banana pudding. They had run out on Saturday but were making some. I mentioned it was his birthday and that's what he wanted and since we were eating in, they gave him some when it was ready. He said it was absolutely delicious and worth the wait. We got to go a child's chicken finger plate. DD was very pleased and happy. It must of been good because she ate it before I could snap a pic."
"Love it here. The service is friendly and familiar and the food is simple southern food done right at a good price. Don't miss the broccoli casserole on Wednesdays, limas on Thursdays or the Mac n cheese. The bbq is one of my go tos but the chicken and dumplings surprised me with how similar it was to the way my nana made hers. Just a bit of salt and a ton of pepper and the only thing missing was one of my nana buttery biscuits. Yumm"
"We ordered take out the last time there. The food was delicious, the staff was very friendly, and everything promised was included. It was a great experience. I would recommend this place without hesitation."
"Didn't try the food. Drinks at the bar only. Bar wise, it was good. Decent selection of drafts and a full bar with cocktail menu. Bartender was very attentive.Location wise it is right in the bowels of the Hilton Hotel, in a corridor connecting other buildings and businesses. This would not be in my top 10 places in Uptown to get a drink. Probably not even top 50, but it was convenient to the hotel I was staying at."
"Breakfast is delicious, filling, and greatly priced! Can't compliment the staff enough - these ladies are great!"
"This place was close to my hotel and I was looking to try local fried chicken. I ended up ordering a seafood platter with a chicken leg on the side. The chicken was extremely crispy which was great! The seafood was all fried. Not that I expected anything different but too much for me. The staff all had their southern charm and were so pleasant. I didn't come close to finishing my food but happy to be able to try it. One comment is that the south loves their sweet tea. I was hoping for unsweetened tea to drink but they had either sweet tea or sweeter tea."
"They need a new location but food and service great I love eating there I just never sit and eat I always get Togo"
"A group of us, were taking forever to decide what to eat, because we all wanted something different. Someone found this menu and then we all said yes and got the same Lobster Mac n Cheese, just different side items. Two of us ordered fried shrimp, someone got chicken. I also ordered a side of zucchini and squash. We ALL Loved the Mac n Cheese. Flavorful, not too cheap with lobster, and seasoned. Pretty much everyone was loving their plates. For those who wanted veggies, the zucchini and squash was even good. Only negative. I ordered and paid for a specialty drink and didn't get it. It's partially my fault, because I forgot to check. Support this business. It's not hard with their amazing food."
"It's a good thing I don't know how to make this at home this good because if I did, all I would do is eat & nap. That was so good! I'm so glad I went. I went 35 minutes before closing and they still had everything on the menu! I ordered as if what I wanted was out but to my chagrin, they had the Meatloaf, sweet potatoes and Mac & cheese. It was delicious for me. The meatloaf: Thick w/ tomato sauce. Sauce had a marinara taste but it complimented the meatloaf perfectly. Mac Cheese: Taste of different cheeses not just 1 our velveta, it was good w/ a sprinkle of salt not much flavor added seasoning but it was still so good. When adding seasonings you have to be careful so this was good for me. Sweet potatoes: Sweet.. not in syrup when served, which is great, especially for travel. Again, just right.Inside, there is a long bench to sit on. Food is served on the right w/ plenty seating in the front and back. Staff is welcoming & personable. Will definitely be back. Try for yourself!"
"This is probably the best food I've had in Charlotte. Everything I tried was so unique and flavorful. I went for lunch on a Friday. Unfortunately they were out of quite a few menu items; however, my server gave some great suggestions. From what I tried, the braised greens were phenomenal. The catfish po'boy was so flavorful, light and crispy. The wings were cooked to perfection. Next time I would request a more simple seasoning for them though. Finally, the field pea mafe was hearty and delicious. The restaurant is stylish and has a great vibe. I'd like to return for dinner or brunch on the patio. I am especially interested in trying the Mac and cheese next time."
"We ordered the pulled pork butt plate with sides of broccoli and mac and cheese, and also added on a side of battered onion rings. Everything was delicious and flavorful, with my favorite being the garlic broccoli. The service was also kind and fast for a Sunday. The reason for 4/5 out of stars instead of 5/5 stars is the richness of the food- Mac and cheese and broccoli were a bit more oily than I'd prefer. However, it was an authentic North Carolina BBQ experience and I would come back here again!"
