"This was not our first experience with the Logos Theatre but it was an excellent and highly recommended experience. We attended the Saturday matinee of the Prince Caspian production. It was outstanding. This production was a first ever stage screenplay written based on the C.S. Lewis Narnia character. I was amazed at the quality of the production and in particular the puppetry and the intricate scene changes.Having seen productions on Broadway as well as in Los Angeles and Toronto and even the traveling Broadway series a our local Peace Center, I can say that the Logos production can proudly stand side by side with these venues, losing nothing in terms of the production, execution and talent. The facility and seats are different, of course, but I cannot say enough how impressed we were.Highly recommended and very well done."
"Spent the evening at the Ovens Auditorium as I waited to see Gladys Night perform. Seats were great and the stage was easy to see. Entering the auditorium was fairly easy but the bag restriction needed to be clearly communicated on the tickets and also from the parking lot. It was sad seeing all the older women or the elderly gentleman taking pocketbooks that were a few centimeters too big back to the cars (don't they know old ladies need big purses) lol.Oh back to the concert and venue... TheOvens Auditorium was in great condition, it was clean and well maintained. The seats are decent with a nice amount of room for legs. The evening and the over all concert was great. Gladys still had it at almost 80 years old and she killed it."
"I really enjoyed my experience at the Asheville Community Theatre. I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought my ticket to 9 to 5 as I thought it was going to be in the smaller building on the corner but there is another building I discovered that was much larger. I'm not sure of the number of seats but it was around 200. The stage was large as well so the cast of at least 30 was able to utilize it all and even were in the audience for some parts. The seating is divided into five sections; left; right center and back right and back left. I sat on the left and thought the view was great. The ticket was $30 so not bad for a show. The back sections are $15 and I'm sure had a great view too as those seats were still fairly close to the stage. The cast was very talented. If I did not know otherwise I would have assumed it was a professionally produced production as the singing, choreography, and sets were elaborate. I wish I lived closer to attend more performances but I will make the drive to see a few a year. The show was very timely with the Me Too movement. "If you don't take the reins It's gonna stay the same. Nothin's gonna change If you don't change it!"The location is great here as there are so many restaurants nearby to go before or after a show. I did not need parking but finding it could be a challenge although the friendly staff likely has suggestions for those that need parking."
"Wanted to take the time to write a kind review towards this ballet school. The lead teacher Val has decades of experience as a performer and trained in Russia at one of their art schools and also did 8 years of university study. He's very knowledgeable about ballet history which has been really insightful to learn about. He's someone who is really passionate about ballet and it's heritage and getting new people excited about dance. The style is very classical ballet and traditionally Russian with strong roots to origins of ballet. As teacher, he's noticeably thoughtful about each member of the class and adjusting his teaching to the students there each day. It's very nice to see such attentive teaching as a dancer. Even though I've had a lot training, I feel I'm learning and improving and gotten great opportunities at this studio. Val can be strict at times, but is also very warm-hearted and wants to help everyone improve their skills. He thoughtfully makes parts for everyone in the shows and starts the next show season by having people fill about their desired type of roles and keeps stock of that.I hope more people will come dance at this unique studio. It's smaller, but gives a lot of opportunities for getting personalized attention in being taught or private lessons. I'm really enjoying taking classes here and the chill vibes."
"Greenville is one of my favorite cities to visit for the weekend, green spaces, lots to do, and of course the food scene of amazing! Ive been here a few times thru out the years for various shows. Beautiful space to see some wonderful entertainment, very clean and well take care of. Drinks and snacks are expensive as per any venue space. If you get a chance go see "The Temptations", goodness it was absolutely amazing!!! They are traveling thru out the USA.A few tips arrive early for free street parking after 6pm or ride around for paid parking garages. Some of the parking garages are $5- $20, choose wisely, Lol! They are very organized once your arrive inside, your check in will move smoothly. If you are in the balcony be prepared to walk up two sets very steep steps. Not good for the knees at all. im sure they have a elevator for the disabled patrons, ask if you need it. Enjoy!"
"Color me impressed. This place oozes charm and history. The stained glass windows and the red velvet seats (although a bit worn here and there) really set a welcoming atmosphere. The best part is the size - small and intimate which really makes for an incredible live entertainment experience. There really isn't a bad seat in the whole place! We had third row seats to a comedy show (only $27 each) and I spent the first 10 minutes star struck at how close we were!Add to that - craft beer, wine and snacks in the lobby that you can bring into the theater with you. $5 parking exit passes sold in the lobby and plenty of helpful ushers to get you to your seats. Can't wait to see a concert here!!"
"Go here for local Community Theater.A true gem of a local venue for musical and theater performances.Supported by the local community. The original building was built in 1907 and was called Matthews school. It was grades 1 to 12.I went the 1st through six grade here and have many fond memories attached to this building.Kudos to the local community for supporting the local arts and preventing the wrecker ball from bringing it down."
"Today I attended a performance of "Charlotte's Web" given by the Carolina Children's' Theater. The event was actually held at the Gunter Theater. There was a phenomenal amount of talent in this offering! The memorization of the lines by ALL the young people was remarkable. They were confident, charming and believable as their "alter egos" the animals! Precious, precocious, and professional! An excellent performance."
"Beautifully decorated theater is part of the Central Piedmont community college with a just over 1000 person capacity. I went to a fitness competition here. Comfortable seats and very classic. There's a parking garage located very close to the theater."
"This was our first time here and we will definitely be going back. It was a blast being so close to the action. The husband of one actor was sitting next to us so we even got an "insider look." Just a superb experience all the way around. Absolutely worth the drive from Greenville."
"$59.50 for each seat, a total of $119. Okay. Now add $6 "facility fee" and $17.86 "ticket charge" and $10.36 "sales tax" and the total is now $153.22. 16% of the take goes to overhead, not including sales tax of 7.25%. That's a lot. With that said, the venue is great. Easy to access and while not tiny, it still felt intimate and engaging with the performer. I was in the "Left Orchestra" which is weird because it didn't feel orchestra at all. There were only four rows behind me.Tonight, Craig Ferguson on his "Fancy Rascal" tour. Craig is still a terrific comedian and in 90 minutes, not a single joke fell flat. Awesome."
"My friend & I saw Porgy & Bess. This is a gorgeous theater. The opera was beautiful- it was an American opera- my first opera in English! There are a ton of places to eat and parking close by. Theater was clean & warm and the props were impressive as well! I'm looking forward to seeing more performances here!"

We really enjoy the shows here. Their takes on the shows we have seen are excellent and it is a delightful alternative to the Hollywood movie scene. It's also great to have a cultural venue where children can join their parents ... without fear of inappropriate or vulgar language. I think the organizers and actors are all Christians, as am I, but anyone who is not a Christian will still be comfortable here. Come for the shows because they are well done.

We were here to attend the Kevin Hart show. It's about 15 minutes from downtown Charlotte. Guests were forced to lock their phone and leave behind all electronic items like AirPod, headphones, digital watch, anything that remotely appeared as electronic device. Any ladies bag bigger than 4x3 inches were not allowed either. There was no locker or storage provided for guests. People who didn't drive had to hide their stuff in bushes. In a freezing cold night, they were doing all this locks and checks that slowed down the entrance, causing long lines, and guests were standing in freezing cold waiting to get in. No heating source was provided at all. Once we were inside, the lobby wasn't bad. Bar was big, had variety of drinks. We were in first row, but that was behind 3 more private rows in front that were not shown in auditorium map. So despite paying high ticket prices, we were still sitting far away from the stage. The chairs were slim and old. There were lots of security. Throughout the show they controlled the crowd who were yelling and hackling. After the show, they forced the guests to outside of the auditorium to retrieve their phones from locked pouches. Within half an hour, all guests were pushed out, they locked down the place and all employees left. Many guests were left standing outside waiting for their ride since they couldn't request Uber earlier. Again no heat or any consideration for guests' well being. Though we had a good laugh at the show, the whole experience was largely underwhelming and disappointing.

I came here on a Sunday afternoon for the first time to see 39 Steps. As many people said, parking is street only, so be sure to arrive at least half an hour ahead of time. The theater has two stages. The main stage can accommodate maybe 100 to 200 people, but it created a really nice atmosphere. The backstage is much smaller. The play I saw was on the main stage. I enjoyed that everything started on time and had only a 15 minute break for intermission. The play itself was fantastic. I know that Asheville is a cultural center with lots of artsy folks, but the actors were top-notch even assuming that. I will be coming back for a few other plays this month, and can't wait to see what more they can offer. I also enjoyed that the play was translated into American sign language. I think including diversity and accommodating people of different abilities is essential.

The Peace Center for Performing Arts puts on great performances but I noticed some issues during my three shows in January. The ticketing staff is friendly and very helpful. The lobby is large and the windows make it seem even bigger. Then there is window seating around the building. Food and drinks need to be consumed in the lobby as well. There is just one restroom on the ground level for men and another for women. Thankfully my show did not have an intermission as that line would be very long. If it was a large women's restroom that would be one thing but it was a small restroom. Exiting the Center after the performance was very slow. I'm not sure why they were directing everyone to the bottom two exits doors rather than using all six of them. The balcony and mezzanine both were empty when the orchestra was still pretty full. If there had been an emergency this would be a safety issue.

Very impressed by this theater when I visited for a free performance of King Lear. The theater was very charming and you can feel the history in the space. Seems like it used to be a church? The staff was very nice and I definitely would like to come up with more excuses to watch performances here.

Took the grandchildren to see The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. Wonderful children's story put into a play. Good acting and scenery. They put on a good show. The playhouse is cosy and comfortable. Seats at least 200, maybe three hundred. We had what used to be called the nickle seats, on the right side, along the wall. It was OK as every seat has a good view of the stage.Prices were $11 for children and same for seniors! No more excuses about cost of taking kids to a play!It was just a play with an intermission. No refreshments but there are rest rooms. I don't know what this building was, but think it was a school building, even could have been part of an early little college. They have quite a schedule of plays, so tune into their web site. A good place for nice entertainment. A-OK

"This past weekend, we headed north to Brevard to check out some amazing bands playing at the Mountain Song Festival. Having been to Brevard numerous time, I was surprised that I was complete unaware of the venue hosting the event, the Brevard Music Center. The event itself was awesome and featured some brilliant bluegrass artists from classics like Hot Rize and Steep Canyon Rangers to up and coming artists like Molly Tuttle. The covered, open theater, is a gem. Great acoustics, beautiful facility, and great for a show on a cool evening. The property was beautifully landscaped and had little cabins and ponds throughout. I can't wait to see another show there and learn more about the BMC!"
"Alchemy Comedy is located adjacent to the local coffee shop Coffee Underground. The shows are usually $10 and you can grab a coffee or a wine or beer before the show. The performance can be hit or miss but overall entertaining. I've been to a few shows and never encountered a long line and there's usually plenty of seating. The room seats probably 50+ people. If you're interested in improv, they offer classes and you can have your chance to perform on stage!"
"My daughter has been to many studios in the past, but IBA has by far been the most professional and structured training so far. They take their training seriously and apply it to every aspect of a dancers life. The produce well rounded dancers with focus on studio, school and community involvement. All the staff communicates well when you have a question be respectful and ask and they do their best to answer you fully. This isn't a "hobby" just for fun experience, if you're looking for instruction and a dance academy your dancer can excel to their highest then this is the place. Love love love our IBA family!"
"First time here for this small intimate theater And if you are a fan of improv its well worth the price of admission. We went to the adult performance at 8pm and I understand they do an earlier performance for families as well. I admire those that can act- and in improv come up with something in the blink of a moment- based on audience suggestions. That would make no two shows alike. Favorites of the evening were the Zelda routine reading a crystal ball while trying to figure out based on audience suggestions what the person in front of them had in their future. Second favorite re~enacting a true audience member life. Worst of the evening chain murder mystery which was more annoying then entertaining. The chuckleheads are a talented bunch. One suggestion I would say is before starting the skit repeat back what they were going to do or who they were going to be once decided. I found myself forgetting what had been chosen a few times.I would go again they do great work and it was a fun way to spend the evening- reserve tickets in advance and receive $2.00 off per ticket. Bring cash for your tickets and raffle tickets along with donation money toward drinks."
"First time at this theater, its not the main theater, much smaller, but great spot for a smaller show. Parking was easy, see website for parking discounts available for venue parking decks. Thankfully we got lucky and got free parking on the street. The weekends are free, make sure you see the city of Charlottes website for details. We where greeted and seated promptly upon arrival. Customer service was professional and kind.We saw "The Soldiers Play", which was really exceptional! Enjoyed all the actors in the play. I you get a chance please support them and share the info. Some of the smaller productions don't enough praise that they deserve. I will most definitely be checking for more shows at this smaller venue Knight Theater. Tip: the fees online are outrageous, go in person at the box office to save a few coins. Unfortunately I don't live in Charlottes, so I purchased online."
"Pumpkintown, located in upcountry South Carolina just a hoot and a holler from Pickens, Table Rock State Park and Caesars Head State Park, is home to the world-famous (in South Carolina) Pumpkin Festival on the 2nd Saturday in October. The 2nd Saturday each October, the pumpkins are in the patch, and it is time to celebrate. Spend the day browsing the arts and craft booths, listening to music, and enjoying the day. Don't miss the parade. Bring a chair or blanket Plenty of port a potties, plus the Mennonites had bunches of tables of deserts! Wow! Also over 100 venders and some of the best bluegrass music ever. I encourage everyone to go the the upstate and enjoy!Parking is in a big field about a mile from the festival, and big wagons pulled by a tractor pick you up and drop you off at the festival. Thousands of folks were there. If you have never experienced the hills of the upcountry this should be the first festival on your fall list."
"We stumbled on this due to a write-up of things to do in Asheville on TripAdvisor. We brought our chairs and set up about half hour before the play started. We still got decent center seats. The play we say was the last night of the Merchant of Venice. One of the main male characters had hurt himself so they had a stand in. The play was about 3 hours long and my wife and I brought our 10, 12, and 15 year old. This recipe could have brought disaster but they enjoyed the play and sat without complaint. Overall, a big success and we all enjoyed the play. I was glad to donate money for a good performance and like that we could have backed out without paying $50 per ticket to see if our kids would be ok with the old English."
"I love this venue! Every seat is a good seat. The place is small but puts on a big great show each time. It can be a little hard to find on your first go, the entrance is in the back of the building. I've seen 4 different shows and loved them all. The cast acts and sings great. The costumes are well thought out. The decor and set designs are flexible with switching walls and lighting. The lighting is colorful and bright, and the audio is loud enough to enjoy but never too loud. The people who run the place always take the time to help me with my seats, ordering wine and snacks, and adjustments to my ticket orders. You will have fun, you'll laugh, and you may cry, all around wonderful."
"My first visit here and I was blown away with the performance of "All My Sons!" The staff that greeted us was warm and accommodating, from the concession area to the ticketing area. Our tickets wouldn't scan so the numbers on our barcodes had to be entered manually. I called them out to the ticket taker to expedite the situation. She seemed genuinely grateful. This is a "no frills" type of venue, reminding me of some of the theaters in Buckhead but the overall product is phenomenal! Sound, lighting, special effects, props, scenery--all well done--very well done. Already considering which performance I'll attend next!"
"Fantastic venue in uptown Charlotte. I've been to many shows here and a six was one of the best! Great venue with lots of seating and the staff and volunteers are great and very helpful. Lots of really good pre theater restaurants around too. Lots of parking decks nearby, and you can also pay for parking at the theater Wine and beer and coffee are available to take into your seats Go see a show !"
"Our family has enjoyed various shows at the NarroWay over the years, including the Christmas production. This year we took our 5 year old for the first time and he loved it. The show moves at the perfect pace for his age. I like that there is a noon show option for families with a meal option. The show, the food, and the hospitality of the people of NarroWay made our experience enjoyable. We will be back soon!"
"The Chapman Cultural Center is located in Downtown Spartanburg. There is free parking on both sides of the center. On the campus are the Artists' Guild of Spartanburg County; Ballet Spartanburg; Spartanburg Art Museum; USU Upstate Art Gallery; the Spartanburg Science Museum; and the Chapman Theatre. These all have their own operating hours. The center is very easy to navigate and figure out where you want to be with the signs. I only visited the the art galleries as I arrived late in the afternoon. I would have loved to see a show at the theatre so now that I learned about the center I can follow the events as they happen frequently."
"Cute little auditorium. The space between the rows is a bit tight. Taking a few rows would be nice. The bathrooms were clean and the staff did a good job handling the crowds. It seems like the seats need a bit of an update."
"Well color me impressed! Theatre Charlotte is pretty fantastic! I had the pleasure of catching Theatre Charlotte's production of RENT - filled with incredibly talented local actors and actresses. The theater itself is filled with fairly comfy seats for approximately 220 people, leading to intimate shows but still offering great lighting, sound etc. Also, pricing is very fair, especially for the high quality production I witnessed with RENT - tickets were $24 for adults! As Jimmy mentioned, concessions are surprisingly affordable with wine or beer at $4. Compare that to other theaters in Charlotte and this is pretty close to a steal. This is most definitely a gem in Charlotte and I plan to head over to Theatre Charlotte much more often to enjoy great productions put on and acted by volunteers in our fine city!"
"My four year old takes tap/ballet combo here and loves it. The staff is attentive to the needs of these very young kids and makes the class fun."
"After finding the location, I enjoyed my first visit to Stage Door Theater. FYI - the entrance is on College Street at the corner of Trade (across from Bank of America Parking Garage). A few tables are available for seating at an extra cost. However, general seating was great. We sat about 7 rows back in the center and I was able to see the stage without interruption. A cash bar was available. On this night, we caught the 6:00PM performance of a quintet from UNC-G presenting the music of Dizzie Gillespie and the show was awesome! A photo montage of the great trumpeter was shown during the performance. I look foward to returning for more shows on warmer nights!"
"This place is way cool. They have performances all year long and most of them are fantastic! Think of this as amped up, risky, fun community theater. Most of what the Magnetic Theater does is original or completely off of the wall. They hire local actors that just want to do real raw theater. This ain't no place for a happy happy joy joy musical. You will find all kinds of raw shows. I really need to support this place more! I have only seen 2 performances here but everything that I hear of sounds super cool!"
"Had a wonderful time going to see the play "To Kill a Mockingbird" and highly recommend everyone go check out the Mill Town Players!I had been searching for something to do over the weekend, and came across info for the play. I thought I had found all the performing arts places in and around my area, but had never heard of this place, and sure enough, not even on Yelp yet. So I had to go check it out! The building is in the small city of Pelzer. It is an old but well kept Auditorium (don't you love plays preformed in buildings with history?) It had lots of free parking out front and was easy to get to. All the seats seemed great, but I did snag the front row for the same price as any other seat, which is awesome! I mean $10 to see a live production, that you can tell they really put their time, and poured their heart into - It was a great night. They have a good balcony area too if you prefer to see it from above. The crowd had a good energy, I knew I was in for a treat, especially when I walked in and saw the set. Everyone involved in getting that together needs a serious pat on the back. There were several very young actors in this particular play with very big parts, and honestly, since it is a community theater, I can't say I expected much. Boy, was I wrong! They did such an amazing job, real talent here! Everyone really blew me away, there were no weak links. A very amazing story, preformed here in the South (where the message still needs to get across sometimes). I'll be back to check out more plays here! Go check them out so they stick around too, we need art like this."
"What a gem! This old Elementary school retains the charm with original hardwood floors in the once classrooms, with murals on the walls, both inside and out. They offer classes in art, guitar, theatre. pottery, voice lessons, and wood carving, Friendly, helpful staff showed us around the building and sold us tickets to an upcoming concert. I was delighted to see a "little free library" in the parking lot!"
"Honestly, at first I had no idea where Duke Energy Theater was in the Uptown "family cluster" of Blumenthal Arts venues. Aha! It's in the same spot/building as the McGlohon Theater but just down the hall and up the steps.First I love that you can have a reasonably priced beer from the concession stand here. Service is fast and attitudes are positive. A Sierra Nevada and bag of chips only set me back $7. And...wait for it... you can bring all of it in the theater with you. I personally like to drink a beer while watching a comedy show - call me crazy but it just enhances" the funny".When we entered the theater, I thought "Shut the front door!", in a good way. There are maybe 40-50 seats and it has an amazing intimacy the other venues don't have. Sure, it is reminiscent of say a College Campus Style and Sized theater but I love it. Got to see the Kevin McDonald show (starring you guessed it, Kevin McDonald) during the Charlotte Comedy Week. Just awesome - as others have noted, you really feel like part of the show - and actually they did record it as a podcast.Would love to come back and see a concert here!!! Tickets are also very reasonable, if not inexpensive."
"What a beautiful space! This is a wonderful dance studio. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. They offer individual, couple and group dance lessons. The studio can also be rented for private events. The decor is modern, yet friendly and welcoming. When you enter the studio, you walk into a lobby which includes a reception area and bar (equipped with a large flat screen tv). There is a large dance area beside the lobby and smaller dance room in the back. The place is so charming that it makes me want to sign up for dance classes and plan a party!"
"By far my favorite playhouse to be a part of in Upstate South Carolina. I have done many shows with several theaters, but none have even been close to this place. The atmosphere is so supportive, welcoming, and just uplifting. The staff is absolutely amazing and treats the cast and audience so well. If you want to go see a show you will absolutely love it, and if you want to audition? Do it!"
"Black Friday and an opportunity to see Edwin McCain for the second time. This go round with K in Shelby at this fine theater for the first time. The sight lines are excellent, the acoustics are great and the feel of the theater has a nice vibe. Clearly, a lot of history here and they have done a great job in the restoration and the accommodation for artists and guests. We didn't participate but Edwin and Band had a meet and greet afterwards."
