"A cute town, kind people, AND delicious food!? This was my first time exploring the town of Davidson and it was so beautiful. I loved walking around the shops and then stopping to eat at Masala was the cherry on top. I am not the biggest fan of spice and was relieved that this Indian dining spot offered levels of spice from zero to extra hot. I loved the butter chicken with the zero spice, it was still very flavorful and filling! Our server was so kind and helped our table with the menu options (I wish I got his name, because he was THE best!) They had a smaller inside seating area beside their kitchen, and then a bigger outdoor patio. I was happy to sit outside to see views of the town plus the cute twinkly lights on the patio. Overall, I had a good experience here and definitely would love to explore the area more in the future."
"I have been wanting to try Curry Place for some time now because the reviews are great and I love Indian food. My daughter and I recently went and had a great experience from beginning to end. The atmosphere is great and the decor is nice but doesn't have much of an Indian aesthetic. However, that doesn't matter because the food is what we came for. We were promptly seated and our server was the waiter and the owner. The owner is wonderful and has a great background story to his life. First, we had to order the samosas. When they came out, they were hot, fresh and full of authentic flavor. The flavor was what you'd expect. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and I honestly didn't have high expectations. I ordered it at spice level 7 out of 10. However, when my dish came out with the basmati rice, I was eager to try.The portion size was enough for two people and from the first taste, it was amazing. It had the perfect blend of ingredients, spices and the curry sauce had the perfect thickness to it. There was no after taste and each bite was just as good as the first. The chicken was cooked very well. It wasn't overcooked or undercooked. The naan matched very well with the curry and I could've kept eating but as I said, the portion size is enough for two. The service was excellent as they made sure to check on us often to make sure we were happy. I was more happy with the meal and knowing that Curry Place is close to my home means I don't have to drive to Ballantyne, South Park or uptown Charlotte. I highly recommend Curry place for the food first and foremost, the customer service and the value for your money. You won't be disappointed."

"Very delicious! My husband and I shared an order of butter chicken with the naan basket and an extra side of rice. If you're looking into trying Indian food and don't know where to start I recommend that dish. The service was excellent and they genuinely care if you enjoy your food. The restaurant is beautiful."
"This place has been on my bucket list for a while now so I'm so glad I was finally able to give it a try and I was not disappointed! They have both Indian and Nepalese dishes, but for our visit, my friends and I got the Indian dishes (chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and chana masala) with some garlic and butter naan on the side. Two side portions of rice were brought out for us to share as well. Everything was super delicious and flavorful. I like how you can customize the spice levels and it'll definitely add some heat so proceed with caution. I also thought that everything was decently portioned. I only finished about half of my tikka masala dish and had the other half to take home. Our server was Puja, and she was super sweet! Very attentive and efficient as well. She thoroughly explained the spice levels and answered any questions that we had. She made sure we were well taken care of! If you're looking for Indian or Nepalese food in the area, definitely give Curry Gate a try as you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to return to try other dishes!"
"Was in the area for a Dr appt and buying a Christmas gift across the street at Biggs Camera. I had an hour to kill and Indian food sounded good. Not too crowded for lunch on a Tuesday. No wait to be seated and my water came quickly. Ordered a veal lunch special and it came out fairly fast. Interesting mix of background music, mostly in Hindi (?). All visible employees were male, if that matters to anybody. All were attentive and speedy. The meal came on a giant metal platter reminiscent of a cafeteria tray with 5 separate compartments. It was huge. Way too much food for lunch. I like to start with the naan. It came out so hot I actually burned my finger when I tried to pick it up. I have never received naan that was more than warm and I might never go back. So delicious. The platter contained veal, potatoes, a vegetable that I could not identify (maybe plantains) all covered in the same or very similar sauce. I wound up mixing most of it together as I struggled to scoop it up with the naan. Halfway thru I was ready to give up, but I persevered. Actually ran out of time as I had to get to my appointment. This is a nice place that I am happy to recommend."
"Foodie spot for sure. Just awesome. Highly recommend. Third time back since we gave it a try a few weeks ago. Have not tried the lunch buffet (not a fan of buffets in general). The three dinners here have been absolutely delicious (Vindaloo, Korma, Palak Paneer....). The taste to value ratio is tops for the location. Recommend!"
"The large number of favorable reviews drew us to this place - only to find out that all the reviewers were completely correct in their assessment of this restaurant. The naan is excellent, and the vegetarian dinner meal is a great sampler in trying a variety of veggie based indian dishes. The service is always quite attentive, the location is clean, and its honestly one of Cornelius's best kept secrets. Its not a location you would immediately notice, but man - once you find it, you will surely be back"
"When walking up to Optimist Hall, I caught a whiff of something really delicious and followed my nose to Botiwalla. On previous visits this place had a line that seemed to have no end so I was pleasantly surprised to find it nearly empty on a Monday afternoon. Definitely visit during the week if possible. Service was quick and every staff member we encountered was friendly. It was hard to narrow down our options as everything on the menu sounded delicious. We wanted to pace ourselves to be able to try a few different places this trip so we opted to split the lamb burgers. Perfect choice! These sliders were much more substantial than I expected. They packed tons of flavor in every bite and I would go back again just to order them again. The buns were perfectly toasted to hold up to the toppings. I knew after seeing so many photos of these sliders online they had to be popular for a reason and I was not disappointed. If you're torn about what to try here, the lamb burgers are a phenomenal option. It's going to be really hard not to order them again on my next trip but I try to sample a little something different every visit. As for the rest of the place, I love how the design is not only inside the dining area but also extended to the order window on the outside. It really stands out when passing by. I love the section of spices and teas they offer as well. It seems like a lot of attention to detail was put into every inch of this place and it really makes such a difference. I can't wait to visit again and try more of the menu. (And probably order the lamb burgers as well.) Trust me, if you pass by this place it'll be hard not to stop in once you smell their food! I'm sure you can't go wrong with anything on the menu and they seem to have a solid selection for everyone to find something they will enjoy."
"Fast food, but amazing food at Indigrille. I've visited a few times and have been blown away with everything that I tried and how helpful the staff is with recommendations. My favs are the coconut curry rice bowl where you pick your protein, and sauce and the delicious flaky kati shrimp roll."
"I had a great experience here. The staff sat us right away. I did come close to when they opened and it wasnt many people there, but there was a couple of large family groups (7-8 people) but they still were able to keep up with our table with no problem. Our food came out fast and it was ALOT we could have definately shared it but it was soooo good and flavorful. It was even better the next day. They did let us know that it does get busy later in the day so i may go early all the time just to be safe.lol"
"I had the Tandoori Roti and Chicken Tikka Masala. This Tikka was different than most others I've had in that it had large chunks of bell peppers and onions and it was a mix of breast and thigh meat. The sauce was tasty. I had mixed feelings about the veg chunks. The Roti was good. This place is easy to miss as it sits on the front side of a strip where most businesses have their entrance on the other side."
"So delicious. I got the veggie korma and chili naan. There were so many intriguing options. I didn't know what to get. I feel like the mushroom Marsala would've been great too. The prices were good. Most meals were under $20 and most drinks were under $10. This restaurant is close to most hotels in fort mill. It is one of the best Indian restaurants I've had. There was plenty of seating and Indian music videos were playing. Staff was nice and very fast."

Authentic Indian food?! I'm always down. We loved the momo's, chaat, and the chicken tikka Masala. The waiter was so accommodating with our 1.5 year old nephew, and gave us plenty of time to order. The ambience is casual and easy to sit with groups of 1-6.

There are so many Indian restaurants in the Charlotte area and I've seen some of my favorites close down over the years. I had given up hope on finding another but over the weekend I had a serious hankering for Indian grub, did some research and discovered Curry Place. I'm glad I did. I ordered takeout and found the place nestled in a strip mall. Curry Place has an ample amount of seating and very friendly servers and hosts in a nice, comfortable environment. Picked up my food at the bar and off I went. I sampled a bit of everything -- samosas, garlic naan, lamb biryani and goat bhindaloo. Every single item hit. I mean, everything. Bravo to Curry Place -- they have great reviews on here and I can now add mine to a place I plan to continue frequenting.

Great food for the most part. Service was disappointing due to disorganization, although the staff were very nice. The ambiance wasn't very welcoming. I have eaten there three times and the food was consistently good. Prices are reasonable. I will go back for sure. Hopefully it's just starting problems. Hopefully they will get their act together eventually. I would love them to be successful.

Food was amazing! Everything was cooked well and was perfectly spiced. It was really disappointing that you had to purchase bottled water. The food is spicy and like to have lots of water. I didn't want to have to purchase multiple bottles. I think they would greatly benefit by adding fountain drinks. The service was standard, nothing special. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Next time I will definitely order take out.

Very good! I got it for a late takeout and was surprised how much food was included. It was piping hot still when I got back to my hotel. Very flavorful and enough for two days for me. The naan and aloo gobi were phenomenal

This is a pick up order review, so I can't really speak to the service or the ambience. Our favorite local Indian restaurant closed down a few months back, and we've been struggling to find someplace new. It looks like we finally have! We ordered the chicken curry, chicken tikka masala, and vegetable samosas, and it was fantastic. I did not feel that there was enough rice provided for three entrées but that was a very minor thing. This is where we'll be going for Indian food until something opens up closer to the house.

This is one of my most visited spots. I was in love with it visiting ATL and so happy when it opened here! Can't go wrong, but the naan rolls are where it's at. The fish one is my fav, with crispy thin fish filets and crunchy vegetables. The naan is the softest I've ever had. Love the mango lassi to cool you down. Get the okra fries and you'll have a hard time with any other fried okra after you experience them!

"I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to Indian food but I very much enjoyed the lunch I had this week. Wanted to try as much as I could at once so went with 3 meats. Chicken Tikka, Pepper Chicken and Chili Chicken. All meals come with basmati rice and naan, which here means warmed up pita I guess. Each dish had nice flavor and varying degrees of heat with the Tikka being the most tame, but also the most deeply flavored. The line was long but moved at a decent pace and the service was very friendly."
"Our recent visit to Charlotte area, friends took us to Optimist Food Hall and one of the restaurants we tried was Botiwalla. We enjoyed the dishes and thought it was nice that there is a dedicated seating area for this restaurant. We tried the SDPD, wings, lamb seekh kabab roll, lamb burger, chicken and lamb skewers, and also the masala chai. I liked pretty much everything and especially the wings. The SDPD (pain puri) was a bit heavier than the ones we tried before, but still it was flavorful. The chicken skewer, while cooked nicely, the flavor just paled in comparison to all the other items.I'd totally go back again and again for the wings and the lamb burgers though."
"Stopped in on a whim... Not at all crowded which is a shame as the food was delicious. I have been to many of Charlotte's Indian restaurants (Copper, Blue Taj, Curry Gate, Bombay Grill, Exotica, etc) and this place is one of my favorites. The basics like the naan and the rice are top notch - we tried a chicken vindaloo, one of the chicken biryanis and the saag paneer. Everything was so good... Got a heat level of 6 on the vindaloo and it was perfect! Just enough to make me sweat a bit. Affordable and the service was lovely. Cannot wait to go back. Huge selection - chicken, goat, seafood, vegetarian."
"My dining mate and I wanted Indian food for lunch, so we decided to try this restaurant. The service was attentive, the atmosphere simple.Diners were given bottled water when water was asked for which was warm, no glasses or straws were given. We ordered Tandoori chicken, chicken tika masala and garlic naan. The menu offers a variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian appetizers, entrees, tandoori breads, biriyani, dosa and Indian desserts and drinks. Our food came out hot, plated nicely, with nice portions. Prices were reasonable. Our menu choices were very tasty.Only disappointment for me was the naan bread was not soft but rather firm although tasty. Overall we had a nice lunch and would return again."
"Walked into this restaurant on Saturday afternoon, had a few people inside making orders so decided to quickly look at the mini indian grocery shop they have while we wait for our turn. It's a mini shop but has all the essential items available. When our turn arrived, we ordered idli vada combo, chole Puri , masala dose and butter milk.Idlis were soft, vada not the crispiest but good. Again dosa wasn't the crispiest but was decent. The only common problem between the two was the peanut chutney. Seems like it was either made the previous day or wasn't fresh enough. Surely came directly from the refrigerator. By the time we finished eating idli and dose we could taste the stale chutney. Chole and Puri was pretty tasty, no complaints there!Even the buttermilk was chilled and good.Hope they fix their chutney problem. Will definitely visit again try something else. Hopefully will come back to increase the stars! Also none of them were wearing mask inside. I hope they start wearing masks too!"
"We've just recently moved to Charlotte and have been on the hunt to find our new go to restaurants. We used to live right around the corner from the best, most authentic Indian place in Buffalo.. finding that replacement here has been challenging ...Until now !! We tried a bunch of things on the menu and everything was great!! Samosas, gobi, garlic naan, biryani, tikka masala, malai kofta, and vindaloo...It's a small spot, so seating is tight- it was packed when we went and there was always a line for pick-up... so you know it's good!! Definitely recommend!"
"Made a reservation for a Friday night at dinner. We were greeted promptly upon arrival by the kind hostess who seated us. The inside of the restaurant is simple but still very nice. Our server was quick to arrive at our table to check if wanted to place drink orders. They do not serve beer and wine, however, it is BYOB so we brought our own wine to enjoy with our meal. Our server then brought out wine glasses and bottled waters for us. The food was fabulous, fresh, and fast! We started with an order of the samosas which were nice and hot. Then for dinner we had the chicken korma with rice, garlic naan, roti, and a side of raita. All of which were delicious and so fresh. Overall, we had a great experience and will be coming back to dine here again very soon!"
"I ordered to go delivery through a meal delivery service and this transported pretty well. We ordered two orders of the chicken tikka masala, levels 4 and 5 for spiciness. Level 4 was recommended on the ordering app and was advertised as mild to medium and 5 was medium. There was virtually no difference between the two flavors and they were beyond spicy. The flavor was great, sauce was creamy, the rice perfect so I 10/10 will order this again but I will probably tone it down to a 2. I can handle some heat but this was so too spicy for my liking and I was sweating. I'd like to think there was a mix up in the levels added and I'm not that big of a whimp but it was probably me just being a big whimp! The good news is the portions were large so I was able to save some for leftovers. When I reheated the next day, some of the spice disappeared and I was able to eat it no problem! I definitely recommend the garlic naan. It's buttery, garlic galore and flaky. My perfect bite with this meal is getting a piece of naan, a piece of chicken and some sauce and pop it right in! Amazing! I look forward to trying this again!"
"Saw this truck outside at my job and decided to give it a try. The young lady at the window was nice, could have been the owner? I enjoyed the butter chicken and rice entree. A little heat but not overwhelmingly so. There were limited options available just butter chicken, chickpea curry and samosas but overall I'd eat from this truck again if it's in the area."
"This is hands down my fav Indian food in town. I've tried several dishes and none have disappointed me. If you're sick, try their soups, hot and spicy and make everything better. Our go to order is kadai lamb, garlic naan, samosa, and the tikka masala. Their spice levels are legit so go above a 4 if you dare. We stick to 5-6 and the next day it is HOT."
"Went in here first because they have a public restroom but the smell of the restaurant got me and Mr. Partner in for lunch! We got the chicken biryani lunch combo and for $13.99 this is a great deal since it comes with three meats, rice, naan and a desert. The desert wasn't my favorite but I can't complain too much since it came with the meal. The staff was friendly and was very helpful at explaining what all the different dishes were and I would recommend visiting them when visiting Latta Arcade!"
"Amazing Indian food inside monarch market! I tried the tikka masala which comes with a lot of chicken and rice. The chicken was super tender and the sauce was flavorful. I do wish it was spicier though. I also had the garlic naan, which was nice and flavorful. Overall, service was great and I loved the food!"
"First time here and really enjoyed the food! We came for dinner around 6pm but noticed they got super busy around 8pm. The menu is stacked with a big variety. Service was quick and food came out piping hot. Would definitely come back here!"
"Juiciest chicken kabab I have ever had in my life, HANDS DOWN, NO EXAGGERATION. I came here on a whim and honestly just wanted a proper cup of chai, but something told me to order something small (despite having dinner maybe 2 hours earlier, heh). Got 1 order (2-pc) of chicken kabab, 1 butter naan and a cup of tea. Took about 10-15 minutes for my food to be ready, which was a good sign since it was being made fresh. The kabab was SO tender, flavorful and JUICY, with the perfect amount of kick to it. Butter naan was amazingly soft and fluffy with none of those dry crusty spots that we all hate. Chai was DELICIOUSLY creamy. Owner is very friendly, great to chat with while waiting for your mouth-watering food. I will be back, likely tomorrow."
"My aunt and I had a great experience at Zafran Kabab Palace. The customer service was excellent and the food was extremely flavorful and delicious! I could eat here a few times a month if I lived in the Charlotte area. Hats off to the chef. I highly recommend to try Zafran soon!"
"My aunt brought me to Aroma and it was such a treat. As soon as you open the door, you see smiles and the aroma of toasted spices wafts through the air. The food was excellent. You know it's the real deal when so many South Asian families are there celebrating birthdays on a weekend afternoon! The panipuri chat was a fun and flavorful appetizer. I loved the layers of spice in the Malai kofta and the paneer masala was also solid. The server was attentive and answered questions but a bit distracted by the business. Highly recommend!"
"The Blue Taj was a great find for an impromptu dinner with a friend visiting from out of town after a trip to The Bowl. The location is nice, though it's tucked away a bit and easy to miss at first. We didn't have reservations, but the friendly staff happily seated us on the heated patio, which was perfect. We ordered several appetizers, all of which were delicious, and our entrees were equally impressive. The service was very attentive throughout our meal. My only minor note is that the drinks were a bit sweeter than I typically prefer, but overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely return"
"Love grabbing a quick lunch here during the work week. The chicken kebab bowl is always great and same goes for the garlic naan! This is a fast food style indian restaurant so service is quick. The chicken kebab bowl comes with tikka sauce on the side which I find to be a wonderful addition. The sauce is served warm and tastes great."
"I really enjoyed my first experience at Taj. The service was quick and staff was attentive; the aromatics and taste of the food was amazing. The restaurant was clean and had a relaxed feeling for great conversation with delicious food."
"I was in town for business and attempted to go to Persis Biryani Indian Grill next door for lunch with a co-worker. We got there at 11:30AM and they weren't open yet. A gentleman came out and told us it'll be 10 to 15 minutes before they were ready. We waited about 30 minutes and they still weren't open so we decided to come here instead. I really wanted Indian food.I told the guy behind the counter I wanted their rice combo, which is rice and a two curries. I asked what kind of curry they had and he said, "if you want to try different curries, you should go to the buffet next door" referring to Persis Biryani Indian Grill where we just came from. My coworker and I ended up at Bojangles. It was a very sad day."
"Placed a togo order at Dakshin Indian Grill with a friend of mine. Daksin has a very extensive menu with loads of options to choose from. They even have some Indo Chinese dishes. I ordered the Garlic Naan, Korma Specials with Chicken and Papdi Chatt. Level one spiciness for my order. My friend got the Samoa Chatt, Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken, Manchurian Specials with Chicken and Fried Rice. She ordered everything on level one spiciness but the Manchurian Chicken at a zero spiciness. The food was all flavorful. The Manchurian Specials with Chicken was very spicy so spicy that she had to call back and have them remake the dish. The remade dish was amazing. Not spicy at all. I was able to reheat my dishes the next day and everything was better. The pickup process was easy and we were able to use the checkin reward of 10% off. I was impressed with the customer service and the portions of the dishes. Dakshin Indian Grill16640 Hawfield Way DrCharlotte, NC 28277Saturday June 26, 2021 8pm (Review 544 overall, 88 in 2021)"
"This place is absolutely amazing! My husband and I just left there and we had the best dinner experience! We both ordered different types of Indian curry and some garlic naan! My husband also ordered some spicy noodles and loved them! Our curries were both flavorful and filling. It felt like a hug in our bellies!!! The waitress we had was super sweet and helpful. She helped me pick out my dinner by telling me some of her personal favorites. The place was nice and clean, and decorated gorgeously!!!! Everybody who worked there was nice and friendly, smiling and they all seemed focused and happy to be there. It was so nice to go here tonight and try some new food. There is ample space for parking out front, as well as a huge dining and bar area. It was really busy when we arrived, but the host was sweet and efficient and sat us almost right away. We will be back!!!! The portion sizes are also amazing here!! You get a lot of food for your money, we had tons of leftovers to bring home!! Highly recommend this place if you haven't gone before!!!! This is authentic Indian food!!! PS: the waitress told us the traditional way to eat the curry is by dipping your naan in either the rice or the curry and using your hands to do so instead of silverware. They give you silverware if you rather use that of course, but traditionally they mostly eat with their hands."
"My visit to Persis Biryani Indian Grill is the BEST experience that I have ever had with an Indian Restaurant! At this point in my foodie journey, I will have to say, PBIG has the BEST Indian food that I have ever had! Customer Service is excellent here! Staff are so pleasant and professional. A refreshing experience! Food is excellent! Every food item that we ordered was correct, hot and fresh. Very flavorful & delicious!I ordered Gobi 65, Garlic Naan & a Taj Mahal to start. The Gobi was requested at a Spice Level of 4. It was amazing! So tasty! The naan here is light & crispy. Really good! Not chewy. For entrees, we ordered Chicken Saag, Malai Kofta & Goat Curry. Spice Levels varied but I stick with a 4 for my Chicken Saag and it was great! I love the brightness of the restaurant due to all the windows. There are booths & tables. They do serve alcohol. We will definitely return, as this is now our go to Indian Restaurant! Cannot wait to try more dishes!"
