"The Blue Taj was a great find for an impromptu dinner with a friend visiting from out of town after a trip to The Bowl. The location is nice, though it's tucked away a bit and easy to miss at first. We didn't have reservations, but the friendly staff happily seated us on the heated patio, which was perfect. We ordered several appetizers, all of which were delicious, and our entrees were equally impressive. The service was very attentive throughout our meal. My only minor note is that the drinks were a bit sweeter than I typically prefer, but overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely return"
"I love this place!! Their samosas are top tier!! I once got the appetizer platter with the pakora but didn't love those, a little bland in my opinion. I've had the butter chicken here as well but I just love the Chana masala over that and I add extra vegetables. Their naan is amazing have to do the garlic, I'd eat here everyday if I could. They're only open for takeout and it's never too long of a wait for your food. I've never had any issues with them."

"The large number of favorable reviews drew us to this place - only to find out that all the reviewers were completely correct in their assessment of this restaurant. The naan is excellent, and the vegetarian dinner meal is a great sampler in trying a variety of veggie based indian dishes. The service is always quite attentive, the location is clean, and its honestly one of Cornelius's best kept secrets. Its not a location you would immediately notice, but man - once you find it, you will surely be back"
"My aunt and I had a great experience at Zafran Kabab Palace. The customer service was excellent and the food was extremely flavorful and delicious! I could eat here a few times a month if I lived in the Charlotte area. Hats off to the chef. I highly recommend to try Zafran soon!"
"This place has been on my bucket list for a while now so I'm so glad I was finally able to give it a try and I was not disappointed! They have both Indian and Nepalese dishes, but for our visit, my friends and I got the Indian dishes (chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and chana masala) with some garlic and butter naan on the side. Two side portions of rice were brought out for us to share as well. Everything was super delicious and flavorful. I like how you can customize the spice levels and it'll definitely add some heat so proceed with caution. I also thought that everything was decently portioned. I only finished about half of my tikka masala dish and had the other half to take home. Our server was Puja, and she was super sweet! Very attentive and efficient as well. She thoroughly explained the spice levels and answered any questions that we had. She made sure we were well taken care of! If you're looking for Indian or Nepalese food in the area, definitely give Curry Gate a try as you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to return to try other dishes!"
"I ordered to go delivery through a meal delivery service and this transported pretty well. We ordered two orders of the chicken tikka masala, levels 4 and 5 for spiciness. Level 4 was recommended on the ordering app and was advertised as mild to medium and 5 was medium. There was virtually no difference between the two flavors and they were beyond spicy. The flavor was great, sauce was creamy, the rice perfect so I 10/10 will order this again but I will probably tone it down to a 2. I can handle some heat but this was so too spicy for my liking and I was sweating. I'd like to think there was a mix up in the levels added and I'm not that big of a whimp but it was probably me just being a big whimp! The good news is the portions were large so I was able to save some for leftovers. When I reheated the next day, some of the spice disappeared and I was able to eat it no problem! I definitely recommend the garlic naan. It's buttery, garlic galore and flaky. My perfect bite with this meal is getting a piece of naan, a piece of chicken and some sauce and pop it right in! Amazing! I look forward to trying this again!"
"Far be it for me to submit a review about lunch, my experience here was so exceptional; I'd be remiss if I didn't say something. As soon as you walk into the unassuming business front, you're greeted by the owner who can only be described as gregarious and engaging. It's a welcomed and relieving greeting for a first-timer and someone like myself who has been lost in the void of post-COVID fast casual dining. True, this could be described as fast casual, but the experience of the owner (Raj) personally curating you a specialty bowl tailored to your liking is a cut above....everywhere else. You will be provided with samples almost to the point where you're full, or until you find the perfect bowl. The portion size is more than generous, no need for the large; just opt for the regular. At this price point, it's probably the best bang for your buck, I had left overs that could double as a another meal. This restaurant deserves it spot as the top 25 in the area, it truly is the The Tasty Bowl."
"My visit to Persis Biryani Indian Grill is the BEST experience that I have ever had with an Indian Restaurant! At this point in my foodie journey, I will have to say, PBIG has the BEST Indian food that I have ever had! Customer Service is excellent here! Staff are so pleasant and professional. A refreshing experience! Food is excellent! Every food item that we ordered was correct, hot and fresh. Very flavorful & delicious!I ordered Gobi 65, Garlic Naan & a Taj Mahal to start. The Gobi was requested at a Spice Level of 4. It was amazing! So tasty! The naan here is light & crispy. Really good! Not chewy. For entrees, we ordered Chicken Saag, Malai Kofta & Goat Curry. Spice Levels varied but I stick with a 4 for my Chicken Saag and it was great! I love the brightness of the restaurant due to all the windows. There are booths & tables. They do serve alcohol. We will definitely return, as this is now our go to Indian Restaurant! Cannot wait to try more dishes!"
"So delicious. I got the veggie korma and chili naan. There were so many intriguing options. I didn't know what to get. I feel like the mushroom Marsala would've been great too. The prices were good. Most meals were under $20 and most drinks were under $10. This restaurant is close to most hotels in fort mill. It is one of the best Indian restaurants I've had. There was plenty of seating and Indian music videos were playing. Staff was nice and very fast."
"Passing through Charlotte, I had to stop and try my favorite cuisine. Oh man, this place is absolute fire!!!We were seated promptly and got impeccable service. I wanted to try everything but I got more than I could handle as is! The chili garlic naan was amazing! I loved the momo; they have a lot of flavor and great texture. The tikka masala and korma are actually some of the best I have ever had. Everything here was an absolute delight. The next time I stop through Charlotte, this place is a must!!"
"My friends and I were visiting the Ballantyne area of Charlotte for the weekend and wanted great Indian Food for dinner. Cholanadu was highly rated here on yelp, so I picked it. It's located in Fort Mill, a quick drive from the Ballantyne away from the city. Cholanadu is located in a shopping center, with plenty of parking. There's a nice amount of tables and booths inside, there is also a small bar area with about 6 or so seats. We were seated right away on a busy Saturday evening at 7. There was one open table being cleaned. It was perfect, because we were all so hungry. The service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly. Once they brought our water to the table and the menus, they gave us time to look at the menu. We all knew what we wanted, so it didn't take long. One of my friends has a nut and a gluten allergy, and they had no issues with ensuring her meal was made to her needs. Our food came out in a decent amount of time for as crowded as it was. Our food came out perfectly. And every single bite was sooooooo delicious. I was stuffed, but didn't want to stop eating, but I was excited that I had left overs so that I could enjoy the yumminess all over again the next day!!If you are ever in the area and are craving delicious Indian food, definitely go to Cholanadu!"
"A cute town, kind people, AND delicious food!? This was my first time exploring the town of Davidson and it was so beautiful. I loved walking around the shops and then stopping to eat at Masala was the cherry on top. I am not the biggest fan of spice and was relieved that this Indian dining spot offered levels of spice from zero to extra hot. I loved the butter chicken with the zero spice, it was still very flavorful and filling! Our server was so kind and helped our table with the menu options (I wish I got his name, because he was THE best!) They had a smaller inside seating area beside their kitchen, and then a bigger outdoor patio. I was happy to sit outside to see views of the town plus the cute twinkly lights on the patio. Overall, I had a good experience here and definitely would love to explore the area more in the future."

My first dining experience here did not disappoint! Upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised to find such a beautiful atmosphere. It definitely feels upscale and would be perfect for a date night. I had dinner here with a girlfriend and our server was kind, patient and informative when it came to explaining the menu items and making suggestions. Everything we had from appetizer to main course to dessert was fantastic! I plan on returning again soon to try out some other items. It feels like a place where no matter what you order, you can't go wrong.

Oh My Oh My how delicious this meal was. The Butter chicken was fabulous, yet the Chicken Curry was the star of the show. ( i chose medium, yet i could've went up a notch in the heat level) i can't leave out the garlic naan it also was delicious! Everything was delicious, meat was moist and tender. This place is a hidden gem, yet apparently the none stop-to-go orders agree. I can wait to return. i'm not a food snob, my philosophy is if i can't , nor don't want to, make it at home I enjoy those who prepare it for me. 5stars Right here!!!!

This is a pick up order review, so I can't really speak to the service or the ambience. Our favorite local Indian restaurant closed down a few months back, and we've been struggling to find someplace new. It looks like we finally have! We ordered the chicken curry, chicken tikka masala, and vegetable samosas, and it was fantastic. I did not feel that there was enough rice provided for three entrées but that was a very minor thing. This is where we'll be going for Indian food until something opens up closer to the house.

Food was flavorful and fresh. The owner and server were welcoming, cordial and helpful. The restaurant itself is okay. It is located on the second floor of the strip mall. We tried several dishes, beef, chicken, goat. The Naan was delicious. I am not an expert on Pakistani cuisine, but I liked and enjoyed what I ordered. I will go back again.

Food was amazing! Everything was cooked well and was perfectly spiced. It was really disappointing that you had to purchase bottled water. The food is spicy and like to have lots of water. I didn't want to have to purchase multiple bottles. I think they would greatly benefit by adding fountain drinks. The service was standard, nothing special. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Next time I will definitely order take out.

*****There is no BUFFET at this awesome establishment any longer; however, THE food, management/staff, atmosphere and total experience was amazing. We will most definitely be coming back to give Saffron our business! YOU won't be disappointed, I guarantee it... Pricing is perfectly priced for portion provided and the quality, flavors and spices are precisely on target. We are pleased we made the decision to have lunch here today. Five Stars for certain!!!!! Yummy... Enjoy!!

This restaurant is very expensive for what it is. You aren't offered a drink but instead you're given a warm Kirkland water bottle at your table. I took my co workers here yesterday and they had never tried Indian cuisine. The food was NOT fresh in my opinion (my naan was literally as crispy as a rice cake) and there are no real descriptions of the dishes at the buffet. I had to dig in the chicken dishes to even find a piece of chicken. I'm sad to say we'll never return

"First time here and really enjoyed the food! We came for dinner around 6pm but noticed they got super busy around 8pm. The menu is stacked with a big variety. Service was quick and food came out piping hot. Would definitely come back here!"
"This place's food gave me great joy- lovely although the chutneys I ordered & paid extra for did not match the ones I got - mango pickle instead of onion chutney, but hey- it was still tasty. And authentic. Was wonderful to be able to order online & just pick it up. (You do kind of have to already be familiar a bit with Indian & this type of 'snack' food to order from here). Also, was frustrating that the ordering menu online for yelp was different than the ordering platform the store directly uses (larger more interesting!)The store platform required all my information- mailing address, etc.- for me to order online, which is ok for billing but....did not submit a card at that time. (And told me after confirming it received my order that I was agreeing to receiving promo contact from the seller- not thrilled about that either.)Appears that if you order in the store, you may need to pay debit or cash (can't totally confirm the details tho- I was starving when I picked up my food & read that in passing, with slight confusion). Did not include or offer any plasticware or napkins either for a sizeable to go order- guessing could have grabbed some on the way out. (In addition to other items, I bought 2 different curry meals which included rice & roti- also wonderful). All said, I'd definitely go back but would order & choose to dine in. Dining in ambiance is not more than a snack shop set up but just would be a nice change from taking out. Plus I spent way too much money by ordering at a distance Next time I'll slow down & take pics of the food I eat- we were ravenous and couldn't be slowed down for such things."
"This place is absolutely legit. The food is amazing on allLevels. The flavor, the spices, are just spot on. Small spot in a small plaza. Family business for a personal touch. We didn't do any appetizers since it was just my daughter and I and we both wanted separate dishes. My daughter got the buttered chicken and I got the chicken tikka. The chicken tikka came on a hot cast iron plate (think fajitas). The chicken was juicy and so good with the veggies underneath were amazing. The buttered chicken was great as well with the naan calling to be dipped in the sauce. Absolutely delicious. If you like or want to try Indian cuisine this is the spot."
"What a great place. The food is amazing. The manager (?). helped us pick out the Sunday Special and combo #1. We got to try four kinds of bread and and 12ish sauces. This place will be on repeat for my family!"
"Fast food, but amazing food at Indigrille. I've visited a few times and have been blown away with everything that I tried and how helpful the staff is with recommendations. My favs are the coconut curry rice bowl where you pick your protein, and sauce and the delicious flaky kati shrimp roll."
"I really enjoyed my first experience at Taj. The service was quick and staff was attentive; the aromatics and taste of the food was amazing. The restaurant was clean and had a relaxed feeling for great conversation with delicious food."
"Made a reservation for a Friday night at dinner. We were greeted promptly upon arrival by the kind hostess who seated us. The inside of the restaurant is simple but still very nice. Our server was quick to arrive at our table to check if wanted to place drink orders. They do not serve beer and wine, however, it is BYOB so we brought our own wine to enjoy with our meal. Our server then brought out wine glasses and bottled waters for us. The food was fabulous, fresh, and fast! We started with an order of the samosas which were nice and hot. Then for dinner we had the chicken korma with rice, garlic naan, roti, and a side of raita. All of which were delicious and so fresh. Overall, we had a great experience and will be coming back to dine here again very soon!"
"My dining mate and I wanted Indian food for lunch, so we decided to try this restaurant. The service was attentive, the atmosphere simple.Diners were given bottled water when water was asked for which was warm, no glasses or straws were given. We ordered Tandoori chicken, chicken tika masala and garlic naan. The menu offers a variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian appetizers, entrees, tandoori breads, biriyani, dosa and Indian desserts and drinks. Our food came out hot, plated nicely, with nice portions. Prices were reasonable. Our menu choices were very tasty.Only disappointment for me was the naan bread was not soft but rather firm although tasty. Overall we had a nice lunch and would return again."
"Love grabbing a quick lunch here during the work week. The chicken kebab bowl is always great and same goes for the garlic naan! This is a fast food style indian restaurant so service is quick. The chicken kebab bowl comes with tikka sauce on the side which I find to be a wonderful addition. The sauce is served warm and tastes great."
"I had the Tandoori Roti and Chicken Tikka Masala. This Tikka was different than most others I've had in that it had large chunks of bell peppers and onions and it was a mix of breast and thigh meat. The sauce was tasty. I had mixed feelings about the veg chunks. The Roti was good. This place is easy to miss as it sits on the front side of a strip where most businesses have their entrance on the other side."
"I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to Indian food but I very much enjoyed the lunch I had this week. Wanted to try as much as I could at once so went with 3 meats. Chicken Tikka, Pepper Chicken and Chili Chicken. All meals come with basmati rice and naan, which here means warmed up pita I guess. Each dish had nice flavor and varying degrees of heat with the Tikka being the most tame, but also the most deeply flavored. The line was long but moved at a decent pace and the service was very friendly."
"Juiciest chicken kabab I have ever had in my life, HANDS DOWN, NO EXAGGERATION. I came here on a whim and honestly just wanted a proper cup of chai, but something told me to order something small (despite having dinner maybe 2 hours earlier, heh). Got 1 order (2-pc) of chicken kabab, 1 butter naan and a cup of tea. Took about 10-15 minutes for my food to be ready, which was a good sign since it was being made fresh. The kabab was SO tender, flavorful and JUICY, with the perfect amount of kick to it. Butter naan was amazingly soft and fluffy with none of those dry crusty spots that we all hate. Chai was DELICIOUSLY creamy. Owner is very friendly, great to chat with while waiting for your mouth-watering food. I will be back, likely tomorrow."
"Very delicious! My husband and I shared an order of butter chicken with the naan basket and an extra side of rice. If you're looking into trying Indian food and don't know where to start I recommend that dish. The service was excellent and they genuinely care if you enjoy your food. The restaurant is beautiful."
"Drove all the way from Atlanta for the vegetarian momos. Got here at 8:20PM but they close at 8:00PM. Luckily the owner allowed us to order some momos. Nice chill dude. Momos were worth it. They also validate upstairs parking. Thanks Momo Station for a great experience."
"I tried dinner here using Uber Eats. I ordered egg katori and paneer angara, extra spicy for both; rice came with the paneer angara. The food was hot when I received it. This was the first time that the spice level actually matched the description. I enjoyed my dinner and would stop by to have an in person experience."
"Foodie spot for sure. Just awesome. Highly recommend. Third time back since we gave it a try a few weeks ago. Have not tried the lunch buffet (not a fan of buffets in general). The three dinners here have been absolutely delicious (Vindaloo, Korma, Palak Paneer....). The taste to value ratio is tops for the location. Recommend!"
"I had a great experience here. The staff sat us right away. I did come close to when they opened and it wasnt many people there, but there was a couple of large family groups (7-8 people) but they still were able to keep up with our table with no problem. Our food came out fast and it was ALOT we could have definately shared it but it was soooo good and flavorful. It was even better the next day. They did let us know that it does get busy later in the day so i may go early all the time just to be safe.lol"
"Had lunch from their special lunch menu . Attentive service, and comfortable atmosphere. I had chicken korma and my dining mate had chicken tikka masala. With this we got a samosa appetizer, naan, rice and gulabjamun for dessert. Chai tea a small cup was extra at $2.99 a cup. I asked for mild korma but it still was to spicey for me. The samosa also spicey for my taste but not for my dining mate.Everthing was basically good even though some chicken pieces in my korma were a bit tough and not as tender as one would expect. I certainly would return and try something different from the regular menu."
"I Asked the cashier what's his favorite entree on the menu because I LOVE Spicy food ! I am glad Rock Hill finally has something fast, cultural options other than Mexican that's hot & spicy, clean atmosphere, easy parking, and welcoming front of house staff . The manager tries to make sure you're satisfied but everything was great ! I hope they do well & Rock Hill would open up their palate ;) Southern Curry with Shrimp (up-charge $2.50)Shack Naan *** excellent *** I could totally eat this as a meal . Cant wait to try other things"
"My husband and I love Indian food, and decided to try Sri Balaji Kitchen, a vegetarian restaurant specializing in South Indian Cuisine. When we sat down, they brought small cups of a cold beverage made with spices and a bit of sugar. It was tasty, but I would have preferred an unsweetened version. We started with one of our all-time favorite appetizers, the Tandoor Sizzling Paneer. The paneer was served on a sizzling cast iron skillet on top of shredded cabbage, and included green peppers (but no onions). On the side, they provided mint chutney and a semi-sweet sauce. The paneer was delicious. It wasn't crispy, but the marinade they used was fantastic, and we especially loved the mint chutney on the side. The menu said this was spicy, but I'd give it a 5/10 in terms of heat. We've only had dosas once before so we went with a simpler one, the Ghee Dosa. It was delightfully crispy and light, and the sauces were OUTSTANDING--especially the two red ones (one predominantly garlic, and one predominantly red pepper). The sambar soup was also tasty. The light green sauce was good as well, but I didn't reach for it as much as the two red sauces. We also tried the Paneer Butter Masala. The sauce was rich and delicious, and the paneer was perfect. I actually ate a few spoonfuls of the sauce once we had eaten all of the paneer--the sauce was that good! The dish comes with rice, and we added butter naan.We were stuffed when done, and didn't have any leftovers. We loved all of our choices, and can't wait to return and try a few other dishes!"
"Went in here first because they have a public restroom but the smell of the restaurant got me and Mr. Partner in for lunch! We got the chicken biryani lunch combo and for $13.99 this is a great deal since it comes with three meats, rice, naan and a desert. The desert wasn't my favorite but I can't complain too much since it came with the meal. The staff was friendly and was very helpful at explaining what all the different dishes were and I would recommend visiting them when visiting Latta Arcade!"
"Walked into this restaurant on Saturday afternoon, had a few people inside making orders so decided to quickly look at the mini indian grocery shop they have while we wait for our turn. It's a mini shop but has all the essential items available. When our turn arrived, we ordered idli vada combo, chole Puri , masala dose and butter milk.Idlis were soft, vada not the crispiest but good. Again dosa wasn't the crispiest but was decent. The only common problem between the two was the peanut chutney. Seems like it was either made the previous day or wasn't fresh enough. Surely came directly from the refrigerator. By the time we finished eating idli and dose we could taste the stale chutney. Chole and Puri was pretty tasty, no complaints there!Even the buttermilk was chilled and good.Hope they fix their chutney problem. Will definitely visit again try something else. Hopefully will come back to increase the stars! Also none of them were wearing mask inside. I hope they start wearing masks too!"
"Stopped in on a whim... Not at all crowded which is a shame as the food was delicious. I have been to many of Charlotte's Indian restaurants (Copper, Blue Taj, Curry Gate, Bombay Grill, Exotica, etc) and this place is one of my favorites. The basics like the naan and the rice are top notch - we tried a chicken vindaloo, one of the chicken biryanis and the saag paneer. Everything was so good... Got a heat level of 6 on the vindaloo and it was perfect! Just enough to make me sweat a bit. Affordable and the service was lovely. Cannot wait to go back. Huge selection - chicken, goat, seafood, vegetarian."
