"A solid pick for a quick lunch or snack - dine in or take out. Everything was made fresh to-order and the owner was a very nice and hard-working guy. A simple establishment, but a diverse menu that is very Americanized. No overly strange or strong spices, and medium-sized portions at a good price.I had the falafel wrap, and the deep-fried chickpea was tasty without having too much spice or seasoning. Lettuce and tomato were fresh and well balanced in the wrap. I opted for the seasoned fries which were nice and the perfect salt balance.There is a couple of tables out front for the sunnier time of day, and a great record store next door to browse through while you digest the meal.Next time I will try some of the more exotic items... several people came in for the chicken tikka and rice dishes and appeared to be regulars."

The meat was so flavorful and tender. On the side were a (HUGE) pile of rice and stewed cabbage.For me personally, the meat portion was perfect for just one meal, while the sides were plentiful enough for two. Basically meaning the $15 price tag a little steep for me. However, the non-protein freaks out there could probably split this meal into two and it would be an awesome value!Also good to note that currently Mi Barrio is still take-out only."

"I have dined here a few times. The service and food are consistently 5 out of 5. Our server patiently answered our questions and was attentive throughout our time there. She also made sure to verify that all items for my son were gluten-free. The kitchen even went above and beyond by preparing the falafel to make it gluten-free. I should add that it was some of the best falafel I have ever had. It was very flavorful with just the right amount of spice. And it was not dry! All of the food was delicious. Our server made sure to let us know that the special Chicken dish would take 30 minutes to prepare. It was well worth the wait! I have never gone and it be crowded. Hopefully it stays one of the best kept secrets in the area!"

"A convenient location. It's right beside a Starbucks & Gas Station. If you're craving Falafel, lamb, and Mediterranean, this will definitely hit the spot. Very clean inside. Various tables to choose from if you decide to dine in. Full menu that consists of wraps, salads, platters, and many side dish items. We ordered a chicken pita with fries and a chicken Greek salad. Both are very tasty with lots of flavor. Ordered one falafel, was not really a fan. It was small and cold and felt like powder when I but into it. The employees were super friendly and efficient. Put our order in, and no less than 2 minutes, our order was ready. Definitely will be returning to try other things on their menu."

"So went to this place while I was in the area for lunch. Good customer service and food came out fast and hot. Really appreciated the guy behind the counter, very nice. Has seating on the outside and inside, everything was minimal but clean. As for the chicken, it looked good, was hot, but just didn't have enough seasoning. Hot sauce saved it but wouldn't order again. Fries were fine. If I came back, I'd get the lamb over rice or something along those lines. More like a 3.5 review. Service really good. Sure other food options are solid but fried chicken a bit bland."

The price is a bit high for what we got but I don't blame this restaurant- that my friends is the economy we have in Washington DC right now driving our prices out of control. (End of politics rant )The price for both of us was about 22 bucks each and considering we ate delicious lamb, two huge bowls lentil soup , two different kinds of hummus and drinks - I have no complaints. It is delicious food ! If you don't try it - you've missed out."

"I may as well admit...I got nothing but love for this place, and here is why:First, it's super clean and pristine. From the grilling area, to the tables you can rest assured that your food is being prepared and handled in the most sanitary conditions. You can't say that about everyplace. So I truly appreciated that.Second the food is fresh, tasty...With so many healthy options to choose I didn't know what I wanted. I ordered a Chicken Gyro platter, with stuffed grape leaves. The portion are big, and you really get your money's worth. The Chicken was tender accompanied by crispy lettuce and thin slices of red onion, the olives and feta added the right amount of tangy flavor and the bread was warm, fluffy and fresh. Ooh! Their iced tea is brewed to near perfection and their traditional baklava is an absolutely lovely finish to any meal. Finally, the lynchpin to this trifecta is the best customer service and attention to detail that I have seen in a long time. From the skilled folks working the open grill who prepare your plate with cleanliness and care, to the cash register attendant. They have well earned each of these five stars and my continued patronage. I wish this business several more years of success, because Peña is a Yes, YES and a YESSSSS please!"

The lamb meat was tasty and moist. It was in chunks rather than shaved so fell easily from the sandwich. The bread was very good. Weren't expecting grilled onions and peppers, but I liked them. Very, very disappointed that they not only don't have tzatziki sauce, but didn't tell me that when I asked for extra. Very thankful that we'd asked for the sauce on the side as neither of us is a fan- sort of like an herby ranch? IDK. The channa and rice is good but very, very spicy."
