"There is no better Greek food in Charlotte than this!! Their food is excellent and service was great. I just wish we lived closer to this awesome restaurant!!!"
"We enjoyed a delicious Falafel Pita and the chicken skewers along with their lemon and chicken soup. The soup was especially good on this cold night! I'm glad we asked for the dessert (with pistachios on top - I forget the Greek name) to go as we were VERY and well satisfied from our meal. The very friendly staff helped make this a great experience we look forward to repeating soon! FYI: the dessert was so good!"

"Big fan. Everything had so much flavor! Some stand out dishes include the saganaki appetizer, zucchini chips, capellini and lamb. They do lamb *very* well. As for everywhere in Charlotte, the prices are a little high. I wish the saganaki was a little larger of a portion for the money. 4 of us shared the appetizer and it was a small 1-2 bites each. The tzatziki sauce was incredibly fresh. I loved my capellini with the scallops. We had reservations and so glad we did because this place was totally packed on a Friday night. It was really crowded and noisy to be honest but it was fine for our small group outing."
"Tried this place for the first time, and it somehow fits the plaza midwood vibe perfectly. Walk-in in, you are transported back in time, but in the best way possible. The service was friendly and prompt, and they even have high chairs for kids! We started with the hush puppies, which arrived fresh from the fryer with that slightly sweet, fried goodness. Add a little butter on top and they were great! Then the main course arrived, the 2/3 lb burger. Well prepared and full of flavor, my only regret was I didn't savor it more when consuming. Great place to enjoy, especially later in the evening after having a few drinks, definitely a must try!"
"The food is really flavorful here. It's suppose to be a little upscale fancy but for me it felt like casual dining. Great for a date night can be intimate setting but a lot of group families dine here. They need MORE waiters. I enjoyed the lamb chops. Portion size are small to average. My husband was still hungry when we left."
"So delicious! Mediterranean food is my favorite, and Greco did not disappoint. Our family got two kids meals, the tzatziki dip appetizer, two traditional lamb gyros, both as combos but one with stuffed grape leaves and the other with hummus and pita. Everything was so yummy! I can't wait to return."
"Mykonos Grill is the closest Greek food I could find that its consistently good every time I go. You can order online and pick it up using their drive up window. So convenient. I was alone so I went with takeout. Typically get the chicken gyro and a side Greek salad. It is always amazing. They have really good fries but I have to go with the healthier option. Their Greek salad is so good. Plenty of feta cheese which tops lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and olives. The dressing is my favorite. I use it for my meal as well :)I have been going here for years. I recommend this business if you are in the mood for Greek. If you have someone that doesn't like Greek, there is a burger that is really good! Oh, and the desserts - you have to see them to believe how amazing they look. If only I could eat them without the guilt...Enjoy!"
"Good Souvlaki Platter with Chicken. Good lunch would recommend. Flavors were good. Place was clean and service was good."
"Great little Greek spot in the Afton Village area. I did a pickup order online and it was ready when I got there. I got the chicken souvlaki on a stick and it was very good. It comes with tasty rice, warm fluffy pitas and a side of tzatziki. I wish they gave more tzatziki because I ran out half way through. It's $1 extra if you want more. The chicken was very flavorful and tender. I also added a 1/2 Horiatiki Salad. It had olives, tomatoes, peppers, onions and cucumbers. I loved the dressing it came with and the feta as well. My sister got the 1/2 mamma Mia bowl with falafel as her protein. She liked it a lot and said the falafel was very good. Overall, the food was fresh and tasty. The only downside is that it's a little expensive. Altogether our food was $25 and we weren't that full after having it. But I would come back because it's a great local spot!"
"Let's just get to the point: This is some of the best Greek food I've ever had. Also, whoever is making the sauces and condiments here deserves a James Beard Award. EVERY condiment was SO STUPID GOOD. I'm really glad I'm a sauce queen and decided to order sides of all of their sauces. The food is SO fresh. When you go into this place, it almost looks too perfect. It looks like the Sims are running a Greek Restaurant. There's tons of chicken spinning on kabobs over an open flame. Everything is SUPER clean and well appointed. Just very picture perfect. I did the chicken with rice and hummus. Chicken: SUPER Tender. I will say... I think the ONLY criticism I have on this meal is that I think portions of the chicken were a bit too soft. Like they were lacking that sort of toothsome bite of chicken. I'm not sure how that happens honestly. The flavor was on point though. Hummus: delicious Rice: loved the addition of I believe dill in the rice. The green Greek goddess sauce: PERFECT - so herbaceous and yummy The Pepperonada: SO flavorful and complex Tzatziki: just perfect The lemon sauce: I can't remember the name: This was so tangy and acidic and literally just what you wanted in a lemon sauce. I put that "Sh!t" on everything. The country salad I got on the side- the veg could not have been fresher. Like... I almost question is there's a garden in the courtyard outside of the restaurant. What a killer place."
"We were looking for a quick and healthy lunch and remembered this spot in Wesley Chapel. Several tables outside under a covered and private patio and a decent amount of seating inside was a pleasant surprise! We ordered the gyro platter and the greek salad with grilled chicken. Both meals were excellent and great portion sizes. Service was friendly too!!"
"I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Hellenic Greek Kitchen & Bar! We started with the Spicy Feta appetizer, and it was out of this world. The perfect balance of heat and creaminess, paired with fresh, warm pita, made it a dish we couldn't stop eating. For the main course, I chose the Lemon Feta Orzo with Grilled Chicken, and it was nothing short of perfection. The orzo was rich and flavorful, with the zesty lemon and creamy feta coming together beautifully. The grilled chicken was tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection, complementing the dish wonderfully. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere was welcoming and elegant. Whether you're a Greek cuisine enthusiast or new to the flavors, this place is a must-visit. I can't wait to come back and explore more of their menu!"

Fantastic! The building could use a little renovation, a deep cleaning, and it is not the best part of town, however! The food was amazing and our server was very sweet and efficient! Food came out fast and hot! We shared the Greek salad to start and it was outstanding! The dressing was a little different than we have had at other Greek restaurants, but man it was good! We both had Gyro's, one traditional and one chicken- both outstanding and overfilled with meat!! And the fries were killer!!Why are you still reading this? If you want some crazy mad good flavorful Greek food, run, don't walk to this restaurant!! To those about to dine, I salute you!!

Super clean place, great service, nice staff, food is always spot on.Some people ask why I frequent the same restaurant so many times with a few of mine but it's because they are some of the best restaurants I I have been to. I always have a great experience The Greek Grill being one of them. (And it's close to home!)

I've been meaning to check out this place for while now, but for one reason or another, unable to...'til now. Surprisingly, the place looked well lived in (thought it was relatively new?), the place had a very warm and inviting vibe...and I even liked their overhead piano music.Their menu featured an unusual mix of Italian and Greek specialities. For me, at least, the appetizers were especially appealing. We ended up ordering 2 appetizers...Zucchini + Eggplant Chips and Calamari Fritti...and both were really good. Yet, not sure why they had to ruin the presentation by adding a layer of paper sheet to both of these appetizer dishes. Cheapened the look...at least to me! BTW, I really wanted to try their "Taste of Spreads" as well...but that was getting a tad too greedy. Maybe next time? For the entrees, I ordered the Capellini...and my husband got the Garganelli. Surprisingly, the portions were way larger than what I anticipated...but the flavor was a bit underwhelming. My Capellini was a tad better...which wasn't surprising, given its lofty price points. We liked...but didn't love our entrees. From what we ordered, we thought the appetizers were stronger than the entrees.Lastly, I enjoyed their Passion Fruit Mojito mocktail...very sweet and refreshing.Service was VERY attentive...exceedingly so! Our waitress was fine, but there were 2 busboys (male staff, that is) standing nearby, staring at the diners the whole time (did NOT like this!). Maybe it's just me and my pet peeve, but I've never been a fan of the waitstaff standing by too close and/or staring while patrons are trying to eat or have private conversations. I just find it rude and intrusive. Despite some annoying points, I really liked their eclectic menu...and thought it was a good, solid restaurant.

We love walking to The Diamond and eating outside as a family (me, my partner, our toddler and our dog). The food is plentiful and consistent, and the staff is always incredibly friendly and welcoming. The service is fast. And we love the come-as-you are ambiance of the whole space (indoor and outdoors). My favorite item is the Greek salad and I add grilled chicken. The salad is HUGE! And I love that one of the options on the kids menu is two sides. That always works out really well for our little girl (hello mac'n'cheese and green beans!).

I've heard some good things about this place, so I agreed to meet some friends here for dinner.Well, I hit the place around 6 pm on a weeknight, and it was mostly empty. The place itself looked cozy...very woodsy, with lotsa comfy booths. However, there wasn't any music overhead, so the place felt a bit barren...lackluster.I've been craving Spanakopita for awhile now, so I was highly anticipating this! Well, sadly, it was probably the worst version I've ever had...worse than the ones I've gotten from grocery stores. The taste was totally off (for me, at least)...in that it was a mix of bitter and bland. The worst part? The pastry part was hardly there!! It was a very odd presentation of Spanakopita...in that it wasn't even a fully enveloped triangle...which didn't make sense to me. I mean, isn't a triangle the hallmark of a Spanakopita? Plus didn't get the weird wavy-crusty presentation overall. Was it supposed to be fancy...or did they just mess up?? Looked NOTHING like the other Spanakopita pictures here on Yelp. Anyway, it was just a minimal dose of pastry, too heavy with Spinach...and not a great flavor. Just very odd...and just very, very bad...priced at 8 bucks! Honestly, I wasn't really craving Souvlaki or anything Greek (aside from the Spanakopita), so I just ordered their Bolognese. Well, again, very disappointed with the flavor. Just flat...utterly tasteless! OMG...I expected so much more than this, given the high ratings here. I didn't want to be a "Debbie Downer" with the girls by expressing my true feelings for this appetizer lol, but downplayed it by saying it was just very "different"...but yeah, I was NOT a fan of their Spanakopita.Guess the only thing I enjoyed was their Mediterranean Mule...very tasty and strong. Service was just passable (if even that?). Our waiter barely checked up on us. Also, might mention that despite the fact that it was a small group of gals, the waiter botched up an order...and one of the girls had to wait extra 10-15 minutes for her corrected meal. Noone raved about the meal either...and I sensed that everyone felt that their meals were barely good...if even that. Also, given how bad the foods were, I felt everything was way overpriced for what it was. At least the drink and the conversation was good??Maybe it was an off night, but I just expected more from this highly rated place. Obviously, I don't think I'll be making any more trips over here.

Traveling to Charlotte for work and had a hankering for some Mediterranian flavors and came to this place. Everything at our table was delicious. The portions were generous and the prices were astonishing considering the high quality of food and service. My go-to is a Gyro as a benchmark kind of fare. Here it is very traditional and the flavors are tremendous. I was concerned about the red onion initially (i prefer a fierce white onion usually) but the flavor profile was more subtle and complex and I was dutifully impressed. The Hummus was just the right consistency and tasted homemade. Plenty of pitas for the dipping and the large is probably best for a table of three, because the two of us neeeearly finished it, but left back a smidge. The restroom was clean and everything worked in there. So, I absolutely recommend it. Traditional flavors and style mixed with great value and exceptional service.Your mileage may vary.

Mykonos serves up authentic Greek food at reasonable prices. The owner is usually in house and is so sweet to the children who are dining in with their parents, offering a sucker at the end of their meals. They have just renovated the whole inside of the restaurant and it is light and bright and plenty of seating indoors and out!!

Ordered gyro pita with fries to go. I ordered extra meat and not quite sure whether I got extra meat or not but it was really good regardless. Fries were good too. The cheesecake with caramel was very good. Service was quick and friendly.

"Everything was wonderful! I can't believe Gastonia has such a beautiful Turkish fine dining experience. The service was lovely, the decor is amazing. The food was all delicious."
"Worth every penny. You will not find a better value anywhere in Charlotte. Breakfast for 3 was $36 and that included a $6 tip. The food is delicious. I just order omelets because what's better? You order at the counter and then seat yourself. Just don't forget to pay before you leave. The family that runs this place are super friendly. A couple of the homies are hilarious. Parking isn't specifically designed all that great but if that doesn't bother you then there's a ton of it lol. The dining room is small. If you have a large group they only have a handful of tables they can merge together. But this is my second option for breakfast in Charlotte. Budget super friendly..."
"Strip mall restaurant with a single counter man and cook working during our visit. Everyone who came in (other than us) called the counter guy by his first name, and he knew most of their's, that kind of neighborhood restaurant. Most people did take out, but we sat at one if the tables. One other gentlemen's ate there as well. Not fancy, and tables could have used a wipe down. My wife and I each had Greek food, a chicken gyro for me and a Greek salad for her, both were OK. While the counter guy was gabbing with several customers, not about ordering food, the other gentleman's food order appeared from the kitchen, the cook rang the bell, and the food sat and waited for at least five minutes. The cook rang the bell a second time, but the counter guy never looked back untilhe rang up another order from a take out customer. My recommendation: do what most people seem to do and call ahead or order takeout, and do not eat there."
"Greco Fresh Grille is my absolute favorite restaurant to get a greek salad with chicken kebab. I don't think I have ever left a restaurant two reviews, but THAT is how good their food is. I actually just finished my salad and had to get a platter of their falafel too. Everything is fresh and beautifully seasoned. The chicken is always juicy and moist. The cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, and feta are vibrant! Truly, I am very certain that you will not be disappointed!!"
"Greek gyro salad is my go to! Always delicious. Ordered by phone picked up in the drive thru window. Fast friendly service."
"Ok going with a solid 4.8... but you get then5 bc everything was hot fresh and quick! I wish I would have seen the specialty fries bc my friend got them and that was a way better idea. Food was brought to the table and staff was nice and friendly. Glad we stopped by for food!"
"From a true foodie ICG has to be one of the best Greek Restaurants in Charlotte. It's all good here and served fresh daily. so eat up"
"Food is good per dollar, but when I roll up at 11 am when you open and the bathroom is trashed..... You aren't doing things right.A great quick gyro, friendly faces making it happen, but this vibe is inexcusable."
"Excellent!! It doesn't look like much driving by but finally we did... and well worth it!! We ordered take out at the counter and service was friendly. Lots of seating and it felt very clean!! We had the grilled chicken with peppers and onions and cheese, which came with a greek salad and grilled zucchini. Delicious with lots of flavor! My partner ordered the gyro dinner and wow, delicious as well. They have a great menu selection and service was quick, definitely felt like a local family restaurant which we absolutely loved!"
"Food was pretty good. Portion size was kind of small for the price. Service appeared to be ok. I picked up my order, and staff who took my payment and for a tip... What is the tip for? Ringing up my order? Can't say I would ever pick up my food again. I'll just stay in the restaurant to use my tip money.Cheese steak with fries. Small amount of cold fries. Sandwich was fair. No mayo included. Worst part... No napkins included. I made a mess."
"It was my first time eating here and I'm very impressed. I went during lunch hour and I was out within 7-10mins, tops! I got a cheeseburger, fries, and a bottled soda. The burger was fresh and made exactly how I wanted it and the bun was toasted just slightly which was satisfying. There is plenty of seating for dining in however, I took my order to go. They accept card and Apple Pay which is very convenient. Nice place to grab lunch if you're near the airport."
"They need a new location but food and service great I love eating there I just never sit and eat I always get Togo"
"We love the food here. Both times we ate from there it was delivered. Great food, the pizza is extremely good. Great service and good prices."
"When I heard that Slice of Napoli had sold their business, I was legitimately dismayed. My favorite spot for pizza, calzones, and hot sandwiches suddenly gone? Say it ain't so! But, I definitely had hope for the future, as I learned the people who bought it also own long-time Winston area favorites TJ's deli (in the same shopping center) and Duke's. I also learned they kept the recipe for pizza sauce intact, and many of the menu favorites.I finally decided to shed my woe, and roll into the freshly named Pizza Greco. This name is accurate, as in addition to most of what you remember from Napoli, there is now a nice selection of Greek sandwiches and foods like Gyros. The space inside has also been seriously upgraded making it feel larger, as well as new upholstery on the booths, which was vastly needed. Drinks are now Pepsi products and self-serve, and it's all counter service, which I also like a lot. My one negative on the drinks, is the tea is no longer brewed, and the replacement brand has a strange smokey flavor I don't like. For food, my wife ordered a regular calzone with pepperoni, and I ordered a regular stromboli which comes with up to 3 toppings. I went for pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms. After about 15-20 minutes, our giant pizza burritos were up and piping hot. They were, as they were before, MASSIVE. We each had half, and enjoyed the other half later for dinner. The taste was awesome, still plenty of high quality cheese, hers both mozzarella and ricotta. Toppings were definitely not skimpy, plenty of all types in mine and hers. If we had one complaint, not enough of the delicious sauce for dipping! We each needed another full cup to finish our other half, and be mindful, there is a 50 cent charge for extra sauce. In general, the prices are higher than what we saw before at Slice of Napoli, but really, that was because they were so much lower than anyone else in the area. Current prices at Pizza Greco are on par with what you'd find at most other similar restaurants in the area. It's impossible not to compare the two, but this will be the last time I do it. I'm happy to report that Pizza Greco is going to make you happy when you visit, and we look forward to visiting again!"
"We enjoyed eating here. It's a small restaurant , clean and bright. The metal chairs a bit uncomfortable for one of my friends. The food we ordered was fresh and delicious, the staff friendly. One orders from the counter and food is brought to the table. We order a side of falafel, a side of hummus. I ordered a rosemary lemon humus, very tasty. The pita bread, soft and fresh. The tzatziki sauce tasty and creamy. We also ordered a falafel pita wrap , a small Greek lemon soup, and a Greek salad Everything was fresh and tasty. We enjoyed everything we ordered and would certainly return again. The prices reasonable, . A kids menu available, they cater and offer a varied menu of popular Greek foods from appetizers, gyros, pitas, salads and desserts"
"Don't think twice just come here. 10/10 all around! the food was amazing super tasty, service was awesome, and the ambiance is cozy. Keyara was a great server, super friendly. I ordered the steak pita because I saw a review recommending it and it was insanely good. My buddy ordered the burger and loved it. Next time I'm gonna try the flounder sand which! Thanks guys at Mr. Gs, god bless!"
"This review is overdue. Leaving the courthouse on Friday, 02-10-23, I stopped by your get a small order to go to take back with me to work. If I had time, I would've dined in. I instantly fell in love with all of the tropical plants. I ordered the Greek fries, baklava, and a cherry drink. I enjoyed everything. The staff was pleasant. I'm not in the area often, but I need to return to try more Greek food. I usually only have it at the Greek festival."
"I had an early morning appointment and really wanted a breakfast sandwich with a salmon patty and I noticed this spot off of Graham and called to place my order. Their menu has salmon patty and salmon croquette and I was told the salmon patty was a homemade and the other was not so I ordered a salmon patty sandwich with egg on toast. The sandwich was good the patty was breaded which was weird but not bad at all. It's a small location and mostly takeout but there was just a table or two inside."
"Just had an absolute great meal. The meatloaf and the potatoes and green beans were fantastic. The strawberry shortcake dessert was phenomenal. I tried the soup and it was wonderful. My wife got a sandwich and the turkey on it was really good. Not some deli meat but real turkey. I can't wait to try all the different omelettes and breakfast items."
"Ordered via DoorDash, and loved their breakfast. Portion sizes were slightly too small, which is the reason one star is lacking. Other than that, we enjoyed this. Slightly greasy, but ok for a one off. Their salmon patty's is what won us over, they were delicious. Will like to visit their restaurant next time for the salmon patty's."
"How many times have I passed by AJs. Let's just say too may times. I stopped for lunch with my granddaughter who was insistant that she have a hot dog. I looked up hot dogs in H'burg and AJs came up. As ypur walk in, you order at the counter and they bring your meal to the table-fast! I ordered a Greek Chicken pita and a hot dog with fries. The hot dog was grilled not boiled and the bun was steamed. The grandgirl loved it. As I said, I ordered the Greek chicken pita. It had chicken, diced lettuce diced, tomatoes, feta and tzaziki sauce. The chicken was tender with a hint of lemon and oregano...excellent! The pita was soft and steamed. Lot's of feta and sauce. So good that it rivals my college staple at Sluvlaki on Blacksburg VA. I've never said that before. Also, the prices are reasonable. One thing ...it was lunch and about 20 people and they were all men beside me and another lady. Who knows?"
"Verona is one of those spots that never fails to surpass expectations. The menu is great, Italian, American, and Greek all in one location. Small seating area but plenty of room and great service for our usual Sunday lunch group of 10+. The service is always very courteous and accommodating even for our typically large and boisterous group. If you haven't been to Verona I urge you to try it, you will be delighted that you visited and sampled. I've heard that they are moving soon to another location not far away in an adjacent shopping center. This new location will provide them with better visibility and more room. I'm glad to see good locally owned businesses succeeding and growing!"
"On my recent visit I was seeking something local and wondered if there just be a Greek option around. Well I was pleased to find just the ticket in the heart of Gastonia, in a strip mall, it was Akropolis Cafe. A charming family-owned eatery that's been delighting locals with authentic Greek cuisine since its establishment in 2014. Located at 3070 E Franklin Blvd, the cafe offers a cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy a variety of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The history of Akropolis Cafe is rooted in the love for traditional Greek cooking and the desire to share it with the community. The founders, a family of Greek immigrants, brought their treasured family recipes to life in the heart of Gastonia, creating a culinary destination that celebrates the rich flavors and aromas of their homeland. I do love good Greek food, and fresh, authentic, and local sealed the deal. We'd been vacationing and traveling for over a week so we decided to get some takeout and eat in. Akropolis Cafe's menu features an array of delectable options, including classic Greek appetizers like hummus, tzatziki, and dolmades. You can also indulge in hearty entrees such as gyros, moussaka, and pastitsio, or opt for lighter fare like the fresh Greek salad or the vegetarian-friendly spinach pie. To satisfy those with a sweet tooth, the cafe offers traditional Greek desserts like baklava and loukoumades. I was surprised with some of the non-Greek choices like mozzarella sticks, burgers, BLT, Pork Chop platter, fish platter, (tilapia, no thanks) chicken salad but the Pita Pizza looks good. We settled on Greek Salad, Spinakopita, Tenderloin Shishkabob, Tyropita, pita bread, hummus, tzatziki, Greek rice baklava and fries. I've been eating and cooking Greek food for decades and have had my share of the real deal and these folks at Akropolis Cafe do a very good job and I would definitely eat here again. Note: I noticed in my search to find this place I saw lots of very positive reviews and saw quite a few complaints that didn't reflect on their food but repeatedly mentioned DoorDash deliveries that were disappointing. FYIBottom line: Akropolis Cafe is a real gem in the Gastonia dining scene, offering a delightful combination of authentic Greek cuisine, warm hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere. Great Greek food, friendly people and reasonable prices, try them today! Highly recommended!!
