"This taproom is holding its own! On Saturday, 1/16/21, this family owned and operated pub will celebrate its one year anniversary. Congratulations! Brushy Mountain Brews is a craft brew lover's paradise because they frequently rotate locally and regionally crafted beers and hard ciders and to put the proverbial "icing on the cake", they frequently host different food trucks and offer live music, too! Personally, for me, it doesn't get any better than this! Brushy Mountain Brews is located at 42 W Main Avenue in Taylorsville, right in the heart of downtown and it is housed in one of the most historic buildings. The building was formerly one of the original Smithey's Department Stores and dates back to the early 1930s. Smithey's was one of the first and largest department stores in Taylorsville. The owners kept the original retro characteristics of the building by showcasing its stamped steel ceiling tiles and hardwood floorings. It's a pretty amazing place to grab a craft brew, eat specialty food from the hosted food truck and hear some tunes from a live band! Once COVID19 lessens you might even get to experience a Yoga Class again! This is another one of those places that offers experiences that are hard to put a price tag on! "I come here from time to time for a sweet treat, but here lately Ive heard a lot of chatter about the grits. Of course, I need to try these amazing grits so I came by for brunch one day and wanted the shrimp & grits. Unfortunately, they were out of shrimp so I got the grits with the salmon patty. I was very impressed with the taste and portion size. Honestly, I was skeptical about the salmon patty because I really wanted shrimp, but after tasting it, I was i heaven! I would highly recommend the grits for sure. I only gave 4 stars for the following reason: they never have a lot of selection of sweets. When I came by, I was hoping for a piece of cake to top off the experience, but they only had brownies, which looked really dark and rich, which wasn't what I was going for although I know they would be delicious. Otherwise, the restaurant itself is clean, cute and quaint. I'll definitely be back!"

"Weirdly it's located in a plaza. It's a bit far away from where I live but the parking is definitely better than parking at Uptown where Chima was. So the concept is very similar to Chima. However, they have the buffet and salad bar. From the buffet, I got the Brazilian cheese bread, spaghetti, a Caesar salad and their potatoes salad. Everything was great except the spaghetti. I'm not a fan. Their meat selections was very good. I was surprised not to see any fish selections. But hey I'm ok with it. The customer service was phenomenal. She was alway on top of things. And very accommodating. For the ambiance. It's nice that I didn't have to dress up., because I really wanted to wear paternity pants with all the food that I was eating. However, my only complaint is the music. For a Saturday night. It being a full house. I can't even hear myself think. And there were 8 ppl at our table. So there wasn't much room for conversations.. but other than that it's great:"

"I've driven by this coffee shop thousands of times and always wanted to try it out. The other day I went in and was absolutely shocked how massive and cute the interior is. I ordered an iced pumpkin spice latte with whipped cream and it was absolutely delicious. I noticed that they had a lot of muffins, sandwiches, other drinks, and sweet treats. I didn't try any, but they looked very delicious. The young man behind the counter was so kind. Everyone who worked in there seem to have a kind of light about them!! Would definitely recommend Hope House coffee to everyone near the forest city area!"

"If you're looking for amazing, delicious dessert, this is the place for it. I moved to Concord this summer and require a few things...a good coffee shop (there are tons), good pizza (that exists), and delicious dessert, I have found it!!!! I have tasted a few things, key lime tart (my husband's favorite and theirs does not disappoint), raspberry lemon tart - AMAZING, Oreo cheesecake - delicious, and a few other things. The staff is always super attentive and helpful, always willing to answer questions to help you decide. I will admit, they are pricy. I ordered a key lime tart for Thanksgiving, a small, and it was almost $40 with tax. It came out absolutely gorgeous (I told them they could be creative and do whatever they wanted with the top) but we could do with a simple pie for $20. I'm learning to make it now because I can't sustain my husband's addiction at that price. I would definitely still order from them for special events in the future though.They also sell wine, which we attempted to buy but were turned off by the selection. It seems they had some average wines, and then some pretty expensive ones but not a lot in the middle. My husband knows wine better than me and couldn't find one he wanted so we didn't buy it. He also said they weren't being stored correctly for the age of some of them, I'm clueless, maybe for the cork drying? Who knows, but go for dessert!!!"

They went through the menu and provided recommendations. I ended up ordering the lobster mac and cheese which is quite pricey (~$24). When I got my food, it was barely lukewarm. The inside was basically cold as if it wasn't cooked all the way through. Taste wise....it was okay. Nothing remarkable. It comes with a truffle oil on top which I think just made the meal greasy and didn't really add anything in terms of taste. I also ordered the mini chocolate chips which were really good and were the best part of my meal. Ambiance - had light music playing in the inside which was nice pop music, not too loud or distracting. Parking - this restaurant is located in a strip mall/shopping center so there is plenty of parking available."

They normally don't deliver, but since my parents live so close by they made an exception, which I thought was amazing. My mom was super happy with the chocolate cream pie. I came across Pavlova CLT on Instagram, and it's a family owned business that just started here in Charlotte. I placed my order in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon. Let me tell you this was to die for. Even better than the one I had in Miami. I ordered the classic strawberry one, and added Nutella. It was amazing! I ordered the medium size since I had family over and wanted to have a cool dessert after lunch. One of the things that I liked was that it was a very light dessert and not as heavy as a cake. They have a variety of flavors to top this dessert with since it's a merengue crisp crust with a soft cream filling and topped with fresh fruit. In between each layer you can find fruit compote that is a perfect combination with the merengue. You can place an order in advance for the day you would like or same day pick up. The lady who does them brings them out to your car, so perfect for curbside pick up! I'll definitely be ordering another one very soon!! If you are in Charlotte make sure to check them out!"

I was also really impressed with their customer service. We ordered from door dash at work (I am a third shift nurse) after our go to insomnia cookies closed early. At first the dasher said they were closed and couldn't fulfill our order but it turns out that the owners stayed open late for us for a coworkers last day and it was a really pleasant surprise that they were still able to deliver for us.
