"OHHHH THIS PLACE HAS ME IN A CHOKEHOLD! When friends and family come and visit I always direct them to try this spot for breakfast/brunch. Make sure you get here EARLY, they don't take reservations and it's really small inside. My favorite dish is the shrimp and grits, but between the pancakes and french toast honestly you can't go wrong with any dish here. Everything is always good and the service is always excellent. Thank me later :)IG: StephColleen"
"Went for dinner and we ordered the French onion soup, kale salad, duck confit, and beef bourg. The main entrees were fantastic! The duck confit is cooked to perfection as it is tender and moist! The beef bourg is also amazing. Also tender and moist. Both dishes were full of flavor. Great portion size! Great atmosphere and fantastic service!"

"I visited this spot with my mom on Sunday 01/05/2025. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast tacos with potatoes and the ruby slipper mimosa! My mom had the omelet with the blueberry lavender mimosa. Everything was GREAT! Customer service, the food, spacious seating. There is street parking. And I must suggest NOT parking in the lot behind the restaurant because they tow."
"Food was so good I forgot to take a pic!! I ordered the chicken parmigiana...so good! Service was great. I've also been here for brunch which was also really good. Family style Italian dining with an authentic Italian vibe. Yesss"
"NOTE: This review is from several months ago and has been in drafts. Oops!! There's nothing like a red eye flight and no airplane food to make one appreciate the first meal. Researched Yelp to determine a good breakfast spot. When numerous comments mentioned long lines and the stars were above a 4.5, we decided to try it. Because it was early we were one of the first to enter. The colorful ambiance was bright enough to waken our slumbering eyes. Choices, choices, choices. The Pancake Flight, the Habanero Pork Belly Breakfast Fried Rice and the fresh juices woke up the tastebuds and set the tone for our day and vacation.Would definitely return."
"My wife and daughter selected Eddie's and so it's time for an update and upgrade. Not nearly as busy at 3pm on a weekday, we had very little wait. Food did not sit in the kitchen long before it was brought to us.Red bean nachos. Good but needed more cheese. Blackened salmon salad. Very good portion and presented nicely though it could use more dressing tossed through. And the corned beef reuben was assembled nicely with plenty of meat and cheese.I'm glad to return. This was a nice late lunch.[Review 342 of 2024 - 3593 in North Carolina - 21375 overall]"
"Menus are located in a stand by the door. Once you know your order, walk up to the counter. There is a pick up area to the right. I ordered a retro biscuit plate. It came with eggs (made to order), bacon, smashbrowns and biscuit with jelly or gravy. I ordered a maple mocha latte. The maple mocha latte was too sweet for me, but that's ok. I'm sure it is perfect for the right person. I will get plain coffee in my next visit. It didn't take long at all to receive my order. I thought the breakfast was good. The bacon was fresh, the eggs were good. The biscuit was fluffy. The smashbrowns were interesting and they had a really nice flavor and texture. Overall, I would visit this location again. The manager made sure things were flowing as they should. He came to my table to make sure everything was to my liking. I thought that was very nice of him. All of the workers provided great service."
"Seated almost immediately, attentive staff, and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend."
"I recently visited La Belle Helene for a celebration, and it was a wonderful experience. The decor immediately stood out--high-end and stylish, creating a chic atmosphere perfect for special occasions. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive, providing top-notch service that made the evening even more enjoyable.I started with the French onion soup, which was rich and flavorful but a little too oily for my taste, so I couldn't finish it. The arugula salad, however, was fresh and delicious, a perfect balance of flavors. We were also treated to complimentary desserts to mark our celebration, which was a really nice touch.Overall, I'd definitely return, though I might try a different dish next time. The decor, excellent service, and thoughtful extras make it a place worth visiting for a special occasion."
"Phenomenal! Wow. We were so excited to visit this place because of its daily deals. Let me tell you (two double mimosas later) I am loving ittttt! Amazing establishment. Great music, television. The service was amazing. Food was so good. Buffalo Mac was great, but the Beagle Bowl took the crown! Amazing amazing amazing. New to town? Come here! Bring your family friends and say hey I know a place. (That's what I'm gonna do).The double mimosas are hitting very nicely."
"We were in Charlotte to see a comedian and arrived an hour early. We took a walk around uptown to find a snack. We stumbled upon Red Eye Diner, which didn't look busy and we figured they could get us in and out quickly. The ambiance is what you would expect from a diner. Dowop pictures on the wall and a big laminated menu with lots of options including breakfast all day. I wasn't hungry, but there is always room for dessert. I got the banana pudding with vanilla wafers and whipped cream on top. It was just ok. The pudding wasn't as thick and I typically like, but all and all it was good enough for my snack. My family was much hungrier and got chicken and waffles and added Mac and cheese. It's the eggy baked kind of Mac and cheese. The waffle was excellent and the fried chicken wings were fresh, crisp, and well spiced. Our bill was affordable and the service was great! I will add that when we left and got to the theatre my iPhone dinged me that I left my AirPods. I called the dinner and they immediately answered and looked but didn't see them. I went into the "find my" app and realized they fell out in my car and were showing in the parking deck. (I found them after the show and slid next to my seat )I would return to Red Eye Diner again."
"I love stacks so much the waiters are so nice and they are doing their best when there's so many people there. they get people in as fast as they can and i can tell why so many people are there. the food is absolutely amazing no matter what you get. they always keep the tables clean when I come and it's never dirty when I go. 5 stars"

Absolutely fabulous brunch here! We did have a bit of a wait for a table, but it was totally worth it! My lavender mimosa was to die for! The food was amazing as well! I'm definitely looking forward to visiting again soon! This one has been on my list for a long time and it will definitely stay there!

Cafe monte serves absolutely delicious food without doubt . Service is amazing - very thoughtful waitress who gave suggestions and various option to consider . The waitress time was little over 20 minutes despite after a reservation. The crab / lobster and veggie crepes were too amazing . The place is a casual hangout place & noise level is little high considering it's not a very huge place . Overall experience is good

Just had the most insanely good hot honey and French toast bites -- perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, and served piping hot . I added a light drizzle of syrup, but honestly... they didn't even need it. The flavor balance was already chef's kiss .Came in about an hour before closing, and my server Tasha was an absolute gem -- super sweet, patient, and made sure I never felt rushed. Love when great food and great service come together like that!

We had reservations for a party of 9 last week and we were so glad that we ended up picking Little Mama's for dinner. Our server was super friendly and informative about the menu. We all started with the complimentary bread basket which was fabulous and a few of us ordered the fresh Caesar salad as an appetizer. Almost everyone at the table ordered the pasta with vodka sauce. Some added chicken and said it was great while others substituted the penne pasta for fresh pasta. I loved the radiatore style fresh pasta with the vodka sauce. All of our dishes came out hot and were fresh! Overall a great night and I look forward to coming back again!

Stop it! How has this place stayed amazing for decades?!? It's as good as we remembered from our younger years - though very little has changed in terms of decor and "divey" vibe, the service, consistency and quality of what comes out is why this place has a never ending line. If you question it, YES this is one of charlottes best breakfast joints around. We wish we were early enough to be opening regulars - as we'd be there every single weekend if we could make it happen. Buy we tend to wait too long and get forced into a wait - (ugh, hangry is never good). The shredded hashbrowns are the crunchiest around and omelets are made with TLC - (not just slapped on the grill and tossed around into an unrecognizable mound). We love you Eddie's and will fight to keep you a Charlotte staple.

Please do yourself a breakfast favor and stop on in!!!! They are remarkable with their use of maple flavoring. I am a major maple lover, and love the use of it in drinks as well as the food. I seem to consistently order the squawking goat! Why? The goat cheese combined with the maple pepper jelly-on a fresh biscuit with "chick-fil-a" level chicken! What else is needed for a perfect breakfast?! Inside is adorable. The restaurant uses the farmhouse theme-which just takes the whole experience over the top for the Concord Mills area.

"Why go to Paris when the best crepe is in Matthews? After traveling France & Germany, I learned that the best crepes are in Matthews, NC. The ambiance takes me back to Paris, but without the cost of a flight. And the service that Elena and her team provide is next level! Elena is like family."
"We tried Napa on Providence for the first time and for the first night of Queens Feast. We went with the choices on the set menu. Great casual atmosphere, very warm & welcoming. Our server did an excellent job and took care of us. We will come again for their normal menu."
"We stopped by Jekyll and Hyde for a beer & appetizer one Saturday afternoon. It is a little outside the Matthews main drag and down the hill but worth the extra short walk! I really liked it here! They have a large beer selection with several taps featuring local beer. We ordered a chicken bacon ranch flatbread and it was really good! The toppings were piled high and drizzled with ranch as well as hot sauce. We really liked the flavors here. It was a tad difficult to eat with your hands, and I ended up taking a fork to it. I want to go back and try more things, will report back."
"We did brunch for my sister's birthday. The food was delicious and served quick and hot. They had half-price mimosas that definitely had a kick. It was a nice fall day and the ambiance was perfect."
"Great food for lunch and dinner! Very authentic and full of flavor! Tried the Surf and Turf and Taquitos."
"If you want to enjoy a fun and unique dining experience this is the place to go. Set in the French sector that is full of small restaurants with great variety. It is located across from a local park Romare Bearden. I recommend the fish and chips and a choice of beer. It is exceptionally flavorful. Their other fare is delicious as well. I haven't tried them but many recommend the chicken wings. It is at times quiet and intimate. Then at other times loud and noisy. They also have small tables outside. Either way you will enjoy yourself. The individuals working there are kind, polite and very helpful. It is also very clean. You can sit up front and look out the large windows and watch people go by and also see some of the local characters in the area. Just enjoy a unique experience in downtown Charlotte."
"When I was visiting my friend in Fort Mill, he went out to grab some bagels in the morning. I was not expecting much.I was PLEASANTLY surprised in the most delicious way. I took one bite of this bagel and cream cheese and was like, "this is a good bagel Travis." I took another bite of the bagel and was like, "this is like actually a really good bagel Travis." I probably said it like 5 times. The chew on this bagel was *chefs kiss*. I also decided to got a chicken caesar wrap because everything was so incredibly affordable. The flavor of the wrap was good... but the filling to tortilla ratio was a bit off. There was a lot of tortilla folded on other tortilla because of lack of filling. That said, the sparse filling inside was VERY good. The chicken was super fresh and the Caesar dressing was pretty darn tasty. There were just a few too many bites that were completely tortilla. Would go back. Just to emphasize... this is a pretty good bagel Travis."
"Always loved coming to Poppy's. They have wonderful bagels, and I enjoy trying out their many different flavors of cream cheese. On my last visit, I tried an everything bagel with strawberry cream cheese...much better than I expected! I will be coming back to Poppys."
"Fast service. Tonya was great! Food was hot/quick/good for breakfast. Next time I'm in Charlotte I'll be sure to stop in."
"I believe BBQ Joes has by far the best bbq in the surrounding area. Service is mediocre but the bbq is top notch. On my visit today I had to place my order at the bar, the last time I dined here I was waited on at the table but that has apparently changed. The baked beans were very flavorful. The fries are beer battered, not my preference. Sweet tea is delicious. If you want good bbq then see the folks at BBQ joes at one of their two locations."
"We made it back this evening and as always it was GREAT. Service , hot food , big portions and very very affordable. We are so glad we found this great diner almost 15 years ago. We are treated like friends and better than some family !!!"
"We went for national Margarita Day. We sat at the bar and had a couple house margs for $6 which were really good. Premade on tap. You can add any flavor as well. We got chips and salsa to start. I ordered the Cobb salad which was great for the price. I couldn't eat it all. We were sitting at the bar and both bartenders were really nice and attentive. One was giving me history on Mezcal and the other gave me a little sample of what that use with their frozen marg. We will definitely be back."
"Bagel Boat just does. not. miss. The bagels and bread is always fresh and tasty. I have recently been hooked on the Hoeny Bacon Sunrise, but my all time favorite menu item is the Turkey Cranberry. Do not sleep on the lattes and classic Black & White cookies."
"The service was great! Maddie did a great job taking care of us. She recommended the Reuben and it was an absolutely great food choice. The ambience was Irish pub style with plenty of sports on the television. Definitely a must!"
"This restaurant was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is beautiful. The food was excellent and the service we received from our waiter Taylor was exceptional. My favorite dish was the caviar sampler absolutely worth every dime! The escargot was delicious."
"Always love going to Mama Zoe's. Their selection of daily soups always offer a great variety of choices. I had the chicken souvlaki plate and it was really good."
"We arrived for a very late dinner after leaving the hospital. We were a party of 5 and everyone was super satisfied with our meal. We were seated right away on a Friday night. The server was a little slow taking our order but the food came out fairly quickly. The fish and chips was the best we've had outside the UK. The fries were excellent and the burgers were great. And the steak and mushroom pie had a flaky crust though not the biggest serving. All in all it was a nice meal and we would go back."
"Their chicken caesar wrap is really really good! I'd come back again for it- that was the only thing I tried."
"I've been a handful of times with colleagues for lunch because the food and service is always amazing. Love their creative salads each season!"
"Giddy Goat is just unmatched in terms of coffee spots around CLT. Their empanadas are so flavorful and the perfect morning bite- especially if you're on the go. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and doesn't have that cold sleek feeling you'll find in so many shops. It feels inviting and makes you want to spend time out on their patio out front. They host a run club, yoga, and dancing which really brings an added element of community. Their coffee is so fresh, with having the roasting machines right in the front of the shop. We buy their espresso beans for our machine at home and it's always so smooth and delicious. It can get crowded around 10am on weekends but still a ton of seating and the line isn't too long. Definitely worth the wait. This is always my go-to recommendation place when people are looking for coffee spots!"
"Im not sure what happened here but Village Corner is definitely not a tapas bar any longer regardless of what the description in Yelp says about this restaurant. While it's still a casual restaurant, with pretty good service, it's more of a sandwich restaurant but not quite a delicatessen. I'm guessing their old business model wasn't working out and just adjusted. It has both indoor and outdoor seating and seems like a nice place to relax with friends. Our visit this time just consisted of two sandwiches and a couple of beers. The "Hot Hot Chicken Sammy" is described as a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich but it definitely isn't a Nashville. It's a decent chicken sandwich covered in a moderately spicy sauce that I think would taste good on wings. It came with fries that had what I think was a Cajun style seasoning which gave it a nice kick. My wife had the "Village Club" which was very good with the sourdough bread but I thought it tasted a little different. It took me a minute but I realized there was Swiss Cheese on the sandwich which I thought was odd for a Club but it actually tasted good. It also didn't have the extra slice that of bread in the center of the sandwich which, in my opinion, is an essential part of a club sandwich. It was good regardless. This restaurant has changed numerous times over the years but it's a decent place to grab some lunch."
"February 15 Update 5 Stars!A Fantastic Return Visit - Thank You, On the NinesWe recently returned to On the Nines after a previous visit where the food was great but the service was a bit lacking. This time, however, everything was spot on, and we couldn't be more pleased! From the moment we walked in, the staff was attentive, friendly, and efficient, making for a much more enjoyable experience. It was clear that the team had stepped up their game, and we truly appreciate the effort. As for the food--just outstanding. Two of us had the braised beef short rib special, and it was melt-in-your-mouth tender, packed with rich, deep flavor. My wife ordered the linguine again because she loved it so much last time, and it did not disappoint. It's not often you find a dish so good you have to have it twice! And we can't forget to mention the pimento cheese appetizer--hands down the best we've had anywhere.A big thank you to the staff and kitchen team at On the Nines for making this visit so enjoyable. We're already looking forward to coming back!Jan 19 Update: following my review below, the executive chef and owner took the time to call me and discuss the below. He was extremely respectful and apologetic. He offered a gift card and asked that I call him personally next time so he can show us what they can do. I greatly appreciate this and look forward to taking him up on this offer in a few weeks. I will update again after that. Jan 18: We recently dined at On The Nines for a special occasion--my mother's 72nd birthday--and what should have been a lovely evening turned into one of the most frustrating dining experiences we've ever endured. To start, we arrived on time and were seated promptly. Our waiter took our drink orders, and everything seemed fine. I ordered a soda since I was driving, and my wife and mother each ordered cocktails, which were delivered without issue. Unfortunately, that was the last smooth moment of the night. When our appetizers arrived, my wife's salad was served split between her and my mother, despite that not being what we ordered. More frustratingly, my French onion soup never appeared. After waiting 15 minutes, I asked the waiter to cancel it if it wasn't ready. He agreed--but 10 minutes later, it finally showed up with my entrée.At that point, my wife's and mother's meals still had not arrived. I waited to eat my now-lukewarm entrée until their food came. The waiter eventually walked over to the neighboring table, picked up the meals that had been sitting there for 10 minutes, and gave them to my wife and mother. To top it off, the diners at that table had to hand over the missing condiments for my mother's dish, which the waiter forgot to grab.A manager finally intervened, offering to remake the meals. However, since this would have meant waiting another 30 minutes--and my dinner would have been cold--we declined. The manager offered complimentary dessert, which seemed like a fair resolution. We soldiered on, with the soup still sitting untouched in the middle of the table.Throughout the meal, the waiter never checked on us or offered refills. I eventually asked for another soda, and while it arrived promptly, the glass was badly cracked--sharp enough to potentially cut me. When I pointed this out, the waiter returned with a to-go cup and straw, quipping, "Here's one for the road," despite the fact that we were still eating and waiting for our promised dessert. We finished what we could of our meals, and when the waiter boxed our leftovers, he ignored my wife's request not to box her mostly finished plate. He packed it into an oversized container that was completely wasteful. The French onion soup remained untouched and forgotten. Finally, the waiter dropped off the check without ever offering dessert or coffee, despite the manager's earlier promise. We left disappointed and drove to Nothing Bundt Cakes for a last-minute birthday treat. There were so many issues with service, from inattentiveness to blatant mishandling of food, that I'm sure I'm forgetting some. Suffice it to say, this was a complete service failure and one of the worst fine dining experiences we've had. We expected far better for a special occasion."
"My friend and I came here to nurse our hangovers the day after the 2022 Midterm Elections. The night didn't go our way, and it was a long night with lots of booze. We needed an epic breakfast to make us feel better, and Just Us Café delivered.Just Us Cafe is a family-owned diner and local hangout that seems to have a crowd of regulars, but we felt welcome. The servers use Ipads to enter your order at the booth or table, which is very efficient and gets your drinks and food out quickly. We both had veggie omelets, and I customized mine to add cheese as well as an order of hash browns with onions on the side. The omelet was full of cheese and vegetables, and the hash browns were hot and crispy like home fries. My dining partner also had a side of catfish. As a pescatarian, I love that they have options that don't include sausage or bacon.Prices here are VERY reasonable, and our server kept us taken care of with drink refills and condiments. You also get a small discount if you pay with cash. I would return and recommend Just Us Café for breakfast."
