"Came here with my parents on an early Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch. They love a low-key, pub fare kind of place. I've frequented the area but hadn't gotten a chance to try this place! Since it's a bar, it was pretty empty when we walked in, as most sports games hadn't begun at that point. We were promptly greeted by our server. To drink, I had a glass of Pinot Grigio, mom had a Mountain Candy, and dad had a cider. No complaints there!We were really pleasantly surprised by the food. I ordered the Corned Beef Sandwich, which came with a side of fries. It's not something I'd typically order and my parents joked that they've never seen me finish a meal so fast. I also added a side of their potato salad because I can never say no to that. It was perfect (think New York Style potato salad from Publix). My dad got the London Broil Pita and thought it was great. Mom got the Cajun Chicken Wrap and had no complaints, either. It's really a no-frills place with better food than you'd expect from a bar. I almost gave 4 stars because it's not anything crazy special - but they don't try to be."

"Chuckwagon is one of Lincolnton's locally owned burger places, which doesn't adequately describe it, really. It has so much more! One of my favorite things about the restaurant is how they home cook a few specials each day. One of today's specials was Hamburger Steak with gravy and onions, mashed potatoes and pinto beans. It always comes with a dessert of some kind, too. They also offer those pinto beans in a bowl with cornbread. The last special was the one I chose: Vegetable Beef soup with a grilled cheese sandwich.At one time or another I've practically had everything on the menu. I love their flounder sandwiches and their hot dogs. Sometimes they'll have chicken casserole as their special of the day and I'll be in heaven! The ranch dressing is also some of my favorite around. They actually have a great salads.Another great feature about this restaurant is the drive up service. You can call ahead and they'll bring it out to your car, or check the menu board that have been there for 20 years and order when you get there. Like a sonic, only better offerings!If you do go inside to eat, they have a very small dining area. It gets really busy at lunch, but there is an outdoor seating area when the weather is nice.4 stars. This place is a good solid place that has been in business for as long as I've lived here. It's not fancy, but it is good at what it does. Give it a try! It's an institution!"

"It's a good thing I don't know how to make this at home this good because if I did, all I would do is eat & nap. That was so good! I'm so glad I went. I went 35 minutes before closing and they still had everything on the menu! I ordered as if what I wanted was out but to my chagrin, they had the Meatloaf, sweet potatoes and Mac & cheese. It was delicious for me. The meatloaf: Thick w/ tomato sauce. Sauce had a marinara taste but it complimented the meatloaf perfectly. Mac Cheese: Taste of different cheeses not just 1 our velveta, it was good w/ a sprinkle of salt not much flavor added seasoning but it was still so good. When adding seasonings you have to be careful so this was good for me. Sweet potatoes: Sweet.. not in syrup when served, which is great, especially for travel. Again, just right.Inside, there is a long bench to sit on. Food is served on the right w/ plenty seating in the front and back. Staff is welcoming & personable. Will definitely be back. Try for yourself!"

"I've been eating at Mac's Speed shop for years & remain a big fan. I absolutely love their smoked wings. The wings are meaty and tender with a nice char on the outside. I am really into their Down South eggrolls stuffed with pulled pork, cole slaw, mac & cheese. Honestly, put anything in an egg roll and I'm eating it. Recently, I tried their buffalo chicken wrap with Hot Gold sauce and it was pretty good! The chicken was a little over cooked and chewy but other than that, great flavor. I've actually never had their BBQ but would be open to trying it."

"As a local I grew up eating here. It's a small town burger joint, which has come a LONG way from what I remember it as when I was a kid. You order/pay at the window and your food is brought to your table. It gets busy at lunch, but I've never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time. Call in (pick-up) is available. CASH ONLY. Don't count calories here or judge a book by it's cover. This place offers anything from burgers, hotdogs, fries, chili cheese fries, milkshakes, fish fillets, fried okra/squash/pickles, grilled cheese, etc. Their slaw is delicious. Many times I have ordered slaw from here for cookouts at my house. Easy peasy. Overall- It's dirt cheap, greasy/unhealthy, but delicious :)"

The fried foods become crazy soggy if it has to travel (I'm about 15 minutes away) and everything is a little bland but nothing you can't solve with some Pete's.The restaurant area was clean but kind of rundown...but not really in a bad way I guess. Felt like an old school race track concession bar.I recommend trying it. May or may not be to your taste but worth a shot. Not a lot of affordable and good fried chicken options in the local area."

"We could not believe how fantastic this place is! We are always on the hunt for good and cheap breakfast, I am so glad we found M & D's. It was extremely clean, so clean that we noticed how clean it was; no dust on the windowsills or blinds. Our server was extremely attentive, a young man with a pony tail on top his head. Our coffee was always topped off. The food was great and cooked to order.One thing I definitely liked was the coffee mugs are made of melamine, so your coffee doesn't get cold very fast and the handle feels good in your hand. "We came here about 10:30am on a Sunday. We were looking for someplace different to check out and my wife found this place. Cagney's Kitchen is a small chain in the Winston-Salem area consisting of about 10 locations. Some are just Cagney's Kitchens, some are Cagney's Kitchen and Pizzeria and some are Cagney's Kitchen, Pizzeria and BBQ. This location is simply a Cagney's Kitchen.This restaurant is in what I believe is normally a pretty busy area near the hospital. On a Sunday morning, not so much. However, when we arrived it was apparent Cagney's was busy. The parking lot is small, tight and was very close to full but we found a spot. The entry is covered and opens to the dining area and host counter. The inside appears very cramped and dated but everything appears to be clean. We were seated promptly in a small two person booth, provided menus and offered drinks. We checked out the menu which was pretty basic but included about everything you might normally want for breakfast. My wife decided to get the farmers omelet with no cheese, a side of gravy for me and a biscuit. I chose the chicken fried steak and eggs with wheat toast. Our food arrived promptly and looked good and hit the spot. My wife really enjoyed her meal and thought the flavor of the omelet and the flakey biscuit was delicious. The chicken fried steak hit the spot for me as well.If you are looking for a diner type experience this fits the bill, nothing fancy but the food is solid and the prices are right."

"got an extra day off work because sometimes it happens that way and went looking for a bit of race fun. turns out the car track wasn't open but the snack shack down the way was so there I was looking for something to go with coffee :-)found a spot at the counter and sat down to the sad reality that breakfast wasn't a thing here but lunch looked promising. the menu was showing a variety of sandwich options but the hot dogs caught my eye... dog and fries... and a combo means I'm drinking for free!!wasn't too long before food showed up: two real beef dogs on toasted top split buns adorned with mustard, onions, and pickle (passed on ketchup, slaw, mayo and some others) and a fair pile o' long skinny fries. not sure where the meat sticks come from but they rate with late century Best's Kosher; just a little funny business in the spice pack don't you know...I'm not from around here so I have to ding y'all for no relish and I can't get a coke-float... but if them burgers live up to the hype and I can manage some chili cheese tots we can probably fix that ;-)"

We ate in but noticed most people were ordering to go or through delivery services. My husband was dying for some banana pudding. They had run out on Saturday but were making some. I mentioned it was his birthday and that's what he wanted and since we were eating in, they gave him some when it was ready. He said it was absolutely delicious and worth the wait. We got to go a child's chicken finger plate. DD was very pleased and happy. It must of been good because she ate it before I could snap a pic."

Absolutely no flavor in the breading at all and I think the chicken had been in the freezer for a very long time idk. Totally disappointed in that. The interior was dimly lit with exposed bricks while the music, old pop and rock greats, made me think of Market Street bars in Charleston, SC. As for food and service, we were pleased! The staff promptly seated us and took our order. Before we finished our appetizers, the salads had arrived, and as soon as we finished those, our main entrees had arrived. I had the Legendary Shrimp with fries while my bf had the Simply Chicken. It was all delicious! Highly recommend giving this place a try!"

"O, little town of Bethlehem, what a great little grill you have. Though not actually located at a crossroads, the Crossroads Grill is a spartan cinderblock building located in a generally bucolic setting pretty much in the middle of nowhere between Taylorsville and Bethlehem, NC. But the locals know what is inside, and they descend upon it in droves to partake in the fresh grill fare and home made vittles found therein. I ordered a hot dog all the way, double cheeseburger, a side of slaw, and a sweet tea. Hot dog: very good all around. The wiener, which they split and grill, was very tasty. The chili had a good flavor but was a little dry. The slaw was excellent. It could have used more mustard and onions. The bun was toasted/grilled nicely. Cheeseburger: competent all around with beautifully melted cheese. The beef was a bit mild and could have used a bit more char. Slaw: excellent home made slaw. It was pretty wet, but this was fine in the bowl and was drained enough on the dog so that it did not ruin the bun. Sweet tea: just above average. It was good but could be a little stronger. The service was friendly, homey, and prompt. This is a neat little place that serves good grill food in a beautiful part of the state. Speaking of which, if you do make the journey out this way, it is worth a 30 or so minute drive to McGalliard Falls in Valdese, an impressive and beautiful waterfall for not being in the mountains. There are not a lot of waterfalls that you can easily access from top, bottom, and both sides. This is one."

The employees always make sure I have everything I need, and usually throw in a coupon. I've never dined in but the atmosphere looks cozy and nice, but not stuffy-cute bar area. They have date night menus, specials, brunch, etc. The menu is enormous so I definitely plan to swing back through and try some different dishes."

And the service is always top-notch! The first time I went, the owner was at the register to take my order and also brought my food out, and she could be used as the perfect example of proper customer service! Very friendly and helpful! And on this most recent trip, my server was every bit as nice and friendly!While the seating inside is limited (the part of the building that Tex-Mex Back Road Grill is located in isn't very large), there's also covered seating outside. The parking lot is also a little cramped, but don't let that deter you from enjoying this incredible spot!"

"I have been wanting to try this place for a while and I am glad that I finally had the chance to. The inside is brightly lit and well put together visually. There were lots of great menu items to choose from that all sound tasty. I went for the grilled chicken sandwich and it tasted great! I sat by the fireplace outside and enjoyed my meal and atmosphere. Employees were nice and hardworking to keep tables clean and customers happy. The only thing I wish was better was the layout and comfort of their tables and chairs. Most are hard metal chairs and for my old back I just wasn't as comfortable as I could be. I will definitely go back to try more menu items!"
