I've worked at the airport for a little over a year and never eaten here. The food has always smelled good, but I've never had the time to sample it.Tonight was different. I was definitely not going to pay $20 for a hamburger at 1897. Their food can be done a la carte or by plates. (2/24/25) I splurged and got the smoked brisket with collard greens and baked beans, and a biscuit. All of it is good. The service is quick and efficient. Expect some eye rolls if you take too long to make up your mind. The ambience is non existent. You're in a food court at the airport. I have a table against a wall. I can people watch and have a bit of privacy.

Really yummy BBQ. And steak fries are great too. Airport pricing is the only complaint but $20 these days isn't bad.

Stopover with delayed flights. My Charlotte airport eatery. One that I look forward to. Haven't had it in about 2 years. And no lines!!! One meat with 2 sides.... Thirty bucks! Fried okra is good. Fries are limp and wicked salty. The brisket is not edible. It is so fatty and salty, it's just not edible. I had a few bites and that's all I could manage. 2 other diners adjacent to me had the same comment on pulled pork. I'm afraid this was my last meal here.

Stopped in during my layover. Ordered the pulled pork sandwhich with Mac n cheese. It was loaded and tasted great for being airport food. I was daily impressed.

I walked past Carolina pit barbecue so many times as I travel wishing I could stop and eat, well tonight I had the chance and God I wish my flight had been late. The green beans were the nastiest greens I've ever had in my life. The barbecue sauce is tangy in a way that tastes spoiled, and the macaroni and cheese is mediocre at best, avoid this place if you can.

An ok place to get BBQ in CLT. It's between A and B concourses. I think the flavor was just ok (maybe ok to not-so-good), even compared to other vendors in the airport. Corn was not sweet corn. Service was so unattentive. I asked for a little bbq sauce and they gave me an overflowing amount.

This is a great airport restaurant. The ambiance fits the location. The service is fast. It's a self service place but line moves fast. We ordered brisket and sausage with green collards and fries. All very tasty. I recommend this place if you like bbq and have a layover in this airport.

Being BBQ aficionados...we knew not to expect much from an airport fast serve bbq joint. Actually, all of the sides were pretty good which was surprising. The meats...not so much. Again, for a quick airport meal it's definitely a lot better than fast food. The most disappointing meat was definitely the sausage. It tasted like Hilshire Farms low quality. Edible? Yes. Brisket meh kind of like what was probably a somewhat decent quality but then frozen and reheated maybe. The pulled pork had good flavor but the texture was mush. The biscuit had a slight cornbread flavor to it and was dry. The three stars are for the good sides.

Airport quality bbq. I am in CLT frequently and usually eat that the chicken place right next door but decided to try something different today. The BBQ Brisket was just okay. Not very warm. The sides were better. And the check out gentleman not very friendly. I'll stick with the chicken place next time.

Prices are about $16 a person. If you get a platter, you get 2 sides. Service is pretty quick since it is an assembly line. It can be difficult to find seats. It is a decent alternative to some of the fast food places. If in the area and Chik FIL A is closed, I would eat here.
