Breakfast Nook

Sat at the bar and was greeted by the 2 people on opposites sides of my seat with a "Hello". Service was great. Coffee stayed full. This is a locals place for breakfast. Everyone knew everyone and they were welcoming. Young lady cooking kept the griddle full Ordered coffee and a Big 3 egg omelet with hash browns. The omelet has bacon, sausage, tomato, onions and peppers. It was a hearty breakfast and the portion size was just enough to join the clean plate club. One thing to know is bring cash. No cards accepted. They didn't give me a hard time. They pointed me to the "service station" a block up the road to the nearest ATM and they save my coffee and breakfast for when I returned. All my travels this throwback diner will be remembered when I am next in Albemarle.. Thanks!

When you step in it is a nice small place that is bustling with activity. Sign stating wait to be seated. We were told to have a seat anywhere. We choose a booth near the front. A polite waitress came by to take our drink order. She brought our drinks and took our food order. Unfortunately I did nit get to try the unsweet tea as it had food particles in glass so I sent it back and did not get a replacement (my choice). My Hubby did try his tea and said it was not good and he did not even want it to go. The food came out quickly. It is your typically breakfast...nothing fancy or outstanding. It lacked any flavor. Grits were on the runny side. Overall I would give it a 2 only because the staff was friendly.Pictures of the menu show that they are dirty, sticky.

The ambiance is amazing there is a 10 minute line but so worth it! The waitress was the so fast and multiple people came up and asked if you need anything I got my drink , coffee & hot chocolate in under 5 minutes! I ordered the French toast and it was the best French toast I have ever had!

Hometown atmosphere and friendly fast service. Their breakfast food is down home cooking and delicious.

Best breakfast in town hands down. I've been going since I was little in the early 2000s. Same familiar faces and homey feel. Don't fear the line outside the door on busy mornings; it moves quickly. Basic breakfast menu with many classic dishes to choose from. My favorites include their french toast, pancakes, bacon and cheese omelette, and gravy biscuit. Be like a local and keep the front door closed when waiting; a kind gesture for the staff and those sitting near the door. Keep in mind tips are shared amongst staff so everyone is working hard and the team effort shines. Great and quick service. Takeout is great too!

If you are looking for Breakfast without the bs this is the place.Good prices great foodReceived my omelet faster than most drive thrus.Only thing missing was butter on the toast easily fixed.

I got coffee and put in my order but never got food. After 45 minutes to 1 hour, I paid for my coffee and left. They said they lost my order. I never had a waitress/ server come to my table or got refill on my empty coffee mug after I ordered. I saw several customers set at the counter, order. and get their food, pay and leave while I never got my food. I did my best to get the servers attention but was unable as they were setting down and talking to their customers. The wait staff seems to know regulars but not pay any attention to anyone else. I cannot comment of the food because never to any.If you are not a local regular customer do not go here as they do not want your business.

Food was great! I just paid $18 and change for an omelette with grits and a coffee. So with the $5 tip, I paid just under $24 for breakfast at a hole in the wall. I looked back at the menu on here. Not sure what they charged me for but they got me! I should have questioned it but dang I got ripped off. Should have been like 12 bucks. What a shame. Food was good and I love little breakfast places like this.
