Blue Bay Seafood of Albemarle

I had a great experience here. We called and the person that picked up the phone was very nice and helpful, they were out of a couple items I was looking to order (which is why I didn't give 5 starts) but we were given other options that we were pleased with. We ordered takeout so I honestly didn't expect too much but when we got the food home it was still pretty hot and fresh. The hush puppies weren't soggy and the fried catfish fish still had a crisp to it. I ordered the broiled platter with salmon and fantail shrimp. The shrimp was a great quality, the salmon a little dry. I didn't try the catfish myself but was told it was good. It's a good spot to get a fish plate on a Friday so we will be back.

Great place for seafood. Totally love the salmon. Portions are huge. The service was excellent. Really love Meredith she really made things special. Very attentive and always there. .

Decor circa 1970. Kids thought waterfall fixture was entertaining. They didn't notice the mildew. Greeted and seated by friendly staff. Hush puppies came out with butter. Kind of sandy, not much flavor. No alcohol choices .Decided to go with the choice of three and chose fried okra for my side. My three were fried shrimp, deviled crab and flounder. One word to describe the breading for all four would be gummy. This makes sense in retrospect as it appeared that most of the patrons were missing teeth. All four were also missing flavor if you take into account that salt is not a flavor but rather a flavor additive. If there's no flavor there to add to, well then you are left with salt.Shrimp and deviled crab had the negative addition of a stinky fish taste. The truest sign of when seafood is not fresh. Cocktail sauce was sweet and needed horseradish. Waitress was attentive until we needed her at the end.The water was good.

It was okay. Good service. Food was okay. The menu had plenty of options. A little pricey.

The fried flounder and fried baby shrimp was overcooked .They know the meaning of fried. The waitress was nice and she couldn't tell me why the flounder and shrimp was over cooked. They didn't try to satisfy me.

The Best fish restaurant in town. The drive is worth it from anywhere even from Texas.

Food was ehhhh. Waitresses were intoxicated . Very interesting place to say the least. Probably won't return

I have ordered at Blue Bay many times, in person and picking up to go. We absolutely love their food. Their service is fast and so friendly in the restaurant and just as great when picking up orders to go. The food is always tasty, flavorful and fresh. When we desire seafood, Blue Bay is where we go...ALWAYS.

Food is good. Take out is fast. Our children love the waterfall in the entrance. They talk about going in just to make a wish every time we pass by.

Excellent food. Amy was our waitress and she was wonderful. A clean restaurant. Excellent menu selection. If you are in albemarle check tham out. You won't be disappointed.
