We grabbed some drinks here and sat in the roof top. This place seems to be setup for tourist season and that's the experience. I'd consider another visit for an event, but just for brews I much preferred lookout brewery.

We walked downtown Black Mountain and noticed the large mural from a distance and since I love a good beer, we decided to stop in.At the time we didn't realize that Roberta Flack was born in Black Mountain and the mural on the side of the historic building was in fact Roberta! When you step inside it is cozy and comfortable but we could see there was a large outdoor space as well. I stopped in at the counter and decided to order a pint of their Hazy IPA.We wandered to the outdoor space which is two levels, we explored the upstairs area first since there was a thunderstorm we thought it would be cool to watch the rain and lightning while sipping on a cold beer. We also learned there was a food trailer at the back of the property, which looks to be a permanent resident. They offer items such as pulled pork, poutine, brisket, and more.We ended up chatting with other customers and had a really enjoyable afternoon. We enjoyed our time at Black Mountain Brewing and will absolutely be back!

While walking through the town we stumbled upon the beautiful Roberta Flack mural that adorns the side of the building without realizing it was a brewery. The first cool thing about this brewery is that it taught me that Roberta was from NC, which I did not know. So, we decided to go and immediately it took be back to the golden era of small breweries. I loved the atmosphere here, again it took me back to when craft beer was a community, and not an industry as it is today.I had a flight with the steam beer, pale ale, West Coast IPA, and barleywine. Everything was on point and very well made. My friend had the American Lager and we also tried the Czech-style lager, which ended up being my favorite.A huge plus and thank you to our bartender who brought us delicious, in-house freshly-made pork rinds! If I lived in the area, this would be my Cheers.

I came here as part of a bachelor party for dinner and drinks while we waited for everyone to get into town. Look to start the beer is incredible and so cheap. Like you can't go wrong with anything on the menu and if you don't like it you're only down a few bucks. Additionally, they have live music and the views of the mountains are so pretty. They also have tasty food available so there's pretty much no reason not to go and have a great time while you're in Black Mountain.

What a sweet little local brewery! So sad it took me so long to get out and experience this place. I will certainly be back soon. They have a front and back (deck) entrance. The pups are welcome out back and it's beautiful out there. Didn't see a dog bowl out there but it might be put away for now. The service was a bit slow as the business started to ok up. Only one bartender working. He was, however, super sweet and knowledgeable. I was curious about the seltzer (prickly pear and agave right now- recommend that) and wine. I had a hard time choosing the wine. One option was small, women owned and low sugar and the other was a dry rose cider from a local place. I opted for the cider this time and the other next. Both looked amazing though. The food truck out back looked awesome but I have yet to try. They have some veggie and fish options too (like a po boy and grilled cheese). Again, service was slow but great. Just be in the frame of mind to take your time. The bartender let me try the key lime sour without me even asking. I have to be honest- Im not usually a beer person but it was amazing. Can't wait to visit again.

I LOVED Black Mountain Brewing. They have a wall-sized mural of Roberta Flack, who is a native of Black Mountain, on the outside of their building. We stopped here to have a few beers and unwind after a day of exploring Black Mountain and Asheville. I had the Blackest of the Mountains and my BH had Koda Chrome, both were amazing. They have a huge two story patio on the back with a food truck, serving up delicious BBQ. We will be back!

Another brewery in western NC - go figure. But I liked the small, non-commercial vibe of the place. Also liked the super strong stout at a reasonable price, the kick-ass Roberta Flack mural, and the comfy two story deck out back. Unfortunately the bbq food truck wasn't open when I was there.

after dinner next door I was trying to decide if I wanted to stay over for sunday brunch... saw a wall full of Roberta Flack on the other side of the parking lot and figured I should do my figuring there. stepped in to a dimly lit bar with finishing tanks behind and a menu of sorts up front. noticed a choice of sours and asked for a taste of each, the Momentary Bliss tasted strongly of french toasts and blueberries and looked vaguely of transmission fluid whereas the Farewell Transmission looked like maple syrup and tasted like it was going to sneak up on me later and sell me a watch... so yeah, after sampling the shorties I knew it was going to be one-and-done so I went with the bliss :-)took it out back on the patio and thought about getting something off the snack wagon despite just finishing dinner. instead I sat and sipped my sour relaxing to the smoothing sounds of Wife Island as the evening settled into night. as a bonus there's a spigot for waters on the wall out there and a bucket o' cups as well. neat!!

Great brewery in one of the best little western NC mountain towns. They have a covered roof deck, a lower deck and limited seating inside. I have been here last year and enjoy their brews and the smoker food truck out back. This time I sampled the smokey dark brew Velvet Ember and had the stout. Both are excellent -- I shall return soon.

Very interesting selection of beers and very very reasonably priced. I certainly hope they survive the tragedy that happened several weeks ago.
