Big Dave's Cheesesteaks

I have been waiting on Dave's to make it to Charlotte. When he posted about expanding to a new city on IG, I quickly suggested Charlotte and a few months later...here you guys are. The food. I got a 6 inch cheesesteak with onions and mushrooms. It was hot . I also got fries and a drink. The service was good. I came after the lunch rush so they're weren't too many people in there. I would return again of course. This is the best cheesesteak anyone can get in Charlotte. The only critique was that too much seasoning was used, so it was a bit salty.

I can't believe this is the same place I was waiting over a year to try. After seeing a video on Instagram, I've been wanting to try this place for so long.I got the 6 inch classic Philly cheesesteak with beef , I got it with all three cheeses. The meat was terribly dry, and there was barely any cheese (I recommend asking for extra cheese). It tasted like someone bought steakums and just cooked it at home. The service was a little poor, they had one girl giving takeout orders as well as doing the orders, and it seemed that she was extremely overwhelmed. Overall, I definitely wouldn't come back and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Finally got my hands on a philly cheesesteak. Not bad. I ordered the Dave's Way Beef in a 6-in combo. Comes with the hoagie, fries, and a drink. They have soda, lemonade, and bottle teas. My sandwich was the ribeye chopped cheese (3 cheeses but I didn't want any whiz) with sweet peppers, mushrooms, onions, and banana peppers. I had no onions and wanted the banana peppers on the side. Sometimes I don't want them in every bite. But they forgot my side of banana peppers. The size was cool, I always can only eat half at a time with half the fries. However there was more bread than meat. Flavor was cool, the quantity of the meat to toppings ratio was cool. The fries were fried to perfection and have some seasoning on them. The crunch on the outside, soft in the middle was perfect. Wish they had a special dipping sauce instead of regular ketchup packs.Paid about $20 for this combo which is steep for the size I ordered and what it all came with. Could have been $12 easy.

Damn good and authentic version of a Philly cheesesteak. Got a beef version wit onions and Whiz. Staff was friendly and the food came out quickly.A few seats/tables if you want to eat it in house. Got mine to go and it was excellent.

This is a newly opened restaurant I saw online and wanted to try out. It's in the Harris Teeter parking lot in the cut , so careful not to miss it.It's a little small inside of the restaurant for seating, but the kitchen and pickup area is bigger.They staff was polite, the restaurant was clean, and the food didn't take very long.They offer cheesesteaks with chicken, beef, or steak, and you also have the eggroll option. The side is seasoned fries, and they have banana pudding and a "water ice," which is similar to Italian ice but softer. I got the chicken eggroll meal, which came with the sweert chili sauce, seasoned fries & a drink for about $15. I rate it a 3 because the fries were a little too salty, there was a little too much cheese sauce in the eggroll which made it drip, but the chicken flavor was good & paired with the chili sauce. I'd definitely go back to try

I walked in. I was greeted by the manager, such a wonderful person and she is from Philly so she knows a thing or two about Philly cheesesteaks. I ordered my Philly Chicken Truffle Cheesesteaks to go. But it looked so good that I took a bite before I left. Yup, I ate half of it there and it was so delicious. I was glad that I got a 10 inch to go It was mouthwatering. The fries were good as well. I am going to wait a couple of days before returning for the Salmon Cheesesteak! Dont want to look to desperate! My grandson loved his load chicken french fries and he is very hard to please!! Great Staff!

Went in on a Friday afternoon and was the only customer there until another arrived after me. Service was friendly, but it was a bit loud in there, and the workers were sort of mumbling so I had a bit of trouble understanding what they said.I ordered a 10" #2 (beef cheesesteak) with white American cheese and onions. I got the combo ($20.49), which included fries and a drink. I was a bit shocked at that price point, but was determined to try this cheesesteak. Now, I'm not from Philly, but my family grew up there, and I grew up right outside the city. I have to say, I was really rooting for this place, but alas.. like most southern cheesesteak places, it just missed the mark. The fries were seasoned, but they were crinkle cut (and I believe a bit undercooked). The onions were diced fine, but despite having so many, the cheesesteak somehow was still missing that fried onion flavor. The amoroso roll was what gave me hope, but it just was plain mushy. Somehow the cheesesteak tasted... sweet? Something was off there on that flavor. At least the meat was finely chopped (instead of the sacrilegious... sliced *shudder*).I just felt "meh" about the whole meal. My husband and I finally made it over here on a late Wednesday afternoon. It's next door to the Harris Teeter on University Blvd across from UNCC. Because they are so close to campus I hope they offer a student discount. Not the least expensive food in the world BUT it's not thrown together fast food either. We waited 20 minutes for our order and it was all fresh. Steady flow of customers while we waited indicating to me it must be good. Black owned restaurant. Got the chicken Philly cheesesteak combo meal. Nothing special about the fries. Cheesesteak was good. Also got a couple Philly beef egg rolls. Regular egg roll size for about $6. Those were good too. This place used to be Subway so there's not a lot of seating. Most folks were taking their food to go and using the tables to wait for their orders. The cashier was great. I think her name was Kam and it looked like she may have been in training but she was so pleasant, seemed to know a lot about the menu (she was able to answer all of our questions and give recommendations). They have Pepsi products. I gave 4 stars because the dining area was neglected. I'll definitely try again and see if there's a difference. Good customer service means a lot to me.

This was pretty decent. I got the salmon hoagie and it was okay. You get lettuce and onions for free but pretty much everything else is extra. My salmon lacked flavor. But the inside of the establishment is very bright and you can eat inside if you'd like.
