Though I am not an expert in the art of brewing, I DO know a thing or two about hospitality, and since my people come from Gaston County I can tell you all about the WARMTH AND CAMARADERIE you can expect here at the Belmont Brewhouse. Expect to enjoy fine craft beers, seltzers, cidars, and wines. But no whines -- this is a spot to leave your cares behind, cast off your troubles and your work attire, and get down to the business of serious R&R. It might take you a moment or two to locate the Brewhouse, tucked away as it is in a converted textile mill on the banks of the Catawba River, but a bit of sleuthing will pay off when you do locate the ample parking just outside the facility. Take note of the massive wooden beams that make up the floors as well as the massive steel beams hanging overhead. No need to worry about this place falling around you, it'll be here for another 100 years for sure! When you finally do belly up to the bar, enjoy a chat with proprietor Dennis Tawley who's been in and around the business of brewed beverages for the past 30 years. He'll recommend just the tipple to get you started, and will surely set you right by the time the evening is over. What he won't do is set your bank account back too far with his reasonable prices.Bring your own growler for a fill up, and bring the whole family for a night of fun when musical acts company the bubbles and suds pouring forth from the tanks. Belmont Brewhouse! Tell him I sent you.

The service is excellent! Very warm and welcoming, as if I just sat down at a neighbor's gar-bar. The bar itself is very small, but the space opens up, much like a garage, and the room next to the bar acts as a sit down space/small art gallery for a local artist. The outdoor area has a nice patio vibe, perfect for a drink after work/work out/day on the lake. The in-house brews are delicious, and the modest wine selection is good. Bags of chips and popcorn make up the snack food options, but work just fine for having a brew and sharing stories.
