Bar Cocoa

This is a nice cafe and bakery store adjacent to the Ritz Carlton hotel in downtown Charlotte. We got to try some of their dessert items as the hotel gave a celebratory platter, filled with their items. Loved the coconut cream chocolate cake, macarons, and the chocolate layered strawberries. The cafe also has excellent variety of hot and cold drinks. I saw the barista working super hard to complete the orders quickly. I didn't see the store being super crowded at any point, nice spot to grab some drinks and bites on your way in or out of the hotel.

Everything was delicious! You get what you pay for. We even met one of the pastry chefs and were able to thank her for such sweet treats.

I'm literally standing inside right now. Not sure why it claims it's closed. Nonetheless, the barista was sweet and very helpful. I walk by here all the time. It was great! I had a red velvet cupcake.

Loved this place! Their gelato is delicious! Short visit here but had a great time. It's a cute store inside the Ritz Carlton Hotel. Recommend the double chocolate gelato. We were able to sample it before buying. Their macrons are delicious too! We had 6 different kinds and they're made in-house. Great experience.

After watching a show on the arena, we were craving some sweets and stumbled upon Bar Cocoa. The little coffee and cakes shop has a variety of coffees, cakes, gelato, etc. The prices are a lot more reasonable than I expected, knowing that it is connected to the Ritz Hotel. I ordered a pistachio gelato and an apple macaron. The small gelato was really big, even for the small size, If I had known i would probably have asked for two flavors. The gelato was good but not amazing, I got tired of it half way thorough, which is a problem I don't typically have with Gelato. My macaron was not great either, it was kind of crumbly, my companion had the raspberry one and that was great, I think the apple cream was not as good as the raspberry jelly.My favorite part was being able to hang out in the fancy Ritz Carlton hotel while eating ice cream.

I had heard such good things about the desserts here so we decided to stop here one night after a show. I'm not sure if I didn't order right, but I wasn't very impressed. I got a few different macarons and a strawberry balsamic eclair. My husband went for gelato. All of mine was just ok. My husband said he liked the gelato. The prices are a little pricey which I was expecting. I might come back to give it a second chance, but after my first time there, there are other bakeries in Charlotte I prefer over this.

I stopped here to look at the treats and everything was delicious. I bought some macarons and chocolates. Everything was fresh and tasty. The aesthetics were beautiful. The store itself was bright and clean. The service was slow, but I think one person may have been in training. The other lady was really sweet and welcoming. I would recommend!

The server was so nice and helpful. Wonderful experience! Don't sleep on this place.

Come for the patisserie, stay for the hospitality. Miss Evette is the loveliest, she made our morning and was so thoughtful and sweet and friendly--give this wonderful woman the biggest raise! She is 100% the reason we will be returning.
