Went for a family dinner--two small children (baby and 4 year old), as well as 5 adults. There was no sign when you entered telling you to wait to be seated or to seat yourself which is kind of awkward. We were seated and our waitress got our drinks quickly. The lid for the toddler drink didn't fit which can be problematic but wasn't a huge deal because the toddler was watched like a hawk. Only one of us got refills which was not great because others could have benefited from it. We all opted for the buffet, which had a good selection. The steamed rice when we first arrived was burnt and stuck to the bottom of the pan. It was not appetizing or tasty. The sweet & sour chicken was very good, moist and tasted really fresh. The best was the pepper steak--very tender (which is often not the case with buffets). The lo mein was well liked by all. They also have an ice cream cooler with individual cups of ice cream, which is a nice treat. The buffet does request that guests use gloves, which is nice but not everyone was using them.

The decor is exactly like the restaurants in China that I visited. Friendly, fast service. The buffet was varied and the food was fresh tasting and not overcooked. We were in a hurry and so we hope to try a menu item another time.

I haven't been to Bamboo since I was a kid. Thought I'd take my kids. We were craving egg drop soup. The restaurant decor seems to have not changed since the early 90s. Service was good despite there only being one server running the entire restaurant. We chose to go with the buffet. It was around $11 for an adult $9 for a an older kid, and $7 for my 5 year old.The egg drop soup was good, and the noodles were the only other decent thing on the buffet. Everything else was just bleh. Meat was chewy. I appreciate this establishment has remained open over the years, but I do not plan to return.

Wish it was possible to give 0...paid for a large beef and broccoli....1. Way more broccoli compared to beef. Should be called beef flavored broccoli...2. That is a lunch size. When you give two sides and a little of the main.. that's lunch. Too expensive for what you get.3. It does NOT taste good what so ever..4. My food was sitting there as I was standing there waiting. I had to ask of that was my food sitting there.. "oh yeah that's it" THANKS.I guess there is nothing good to eat in archdale..Very disappointing. And when we called to bring it to their attention, of course the response is nothing they can do about it. Whatever. Buyer beware.Gross gross gross.

Let me start off by saying that we have tried this place multiple times and that this is not just one bad experience. There is a single buffet table inside. That's it. The food is worse than even your most average Chinese buffets. It's mush. And what isn't mush is like chewing on bubble gum. Even this would be okay if it were not priced more expensive than the best buffets. Every time we have been there the service (if you can call it that) is terrible. You get your drinks and don't see the waitress again until 20 minutes after you have been done eating and are angrily waiting on the check. Keep in mind this is with the place nearly empty so it's not as if they are busy. It's a shame that these types of places manage to survive by being the only buffet in a small town so they don't have to have good food or service.*Extremely overpriced*Garbage food*Zero service

If I could give this place negative stars, I would based primarily on lack of cleanliness and overpriced mediocre food. It is a sad state of affairs because Bamboo Garden was once (past tense) an Archdale staple that I have supported for over 1/4 century. But the tides have changed and people need to know what they are in for.Two owners in 25 years. The only complaint is neither of them really put any $ into improving the aesthetics so now it's just dumpy. Fast forward, new owners come along within the past year 1/2 and all of the sudden this place truly looks like a toilet filled with poo. DIRTY! DIRTY! DIRTY! Carpets are filthy and I mean this from the bottom of my heart. Emphasis on the many huge spots of goop that has been spilled, mushed in, and turned black over time from all the walking. You get to stare at them while trying to enjoy your meal. Getting nauseous just typing. Do they never run a carpet cleaner at this place??? You can rent one cheap. But, at this point they need to rip that mess out and lay something new. Tables are sticky. Seats are sticky. Wooden booths are dusty, dirty, and sticky. Walls beside booths are grimy with dried food. Wallpaper hanging off walls. Flys on windows. It worries me for my legs being hidden away under the booths because it fears me to think what's under there. Restrooms scare me, literally! Very dark... like a restroom in some old service station. There's no hot water in women's restrooms and the ice cold water freezes you to death in the winter time. How are the employees thoroughly cleaning their hands with soap and warm water after toilet visits if there is no hot water? I can't imagine what the condition of the kitchen must be. I don't see how this place passes a health inspection. This place needs an overall deep cleaning and a huge facelift.Buffet food is not winning any awards. While there is a decent selection on the bar and some of it is pretty good (spring rolls are tasty, green beans and shrimp are pretty good), much of it is very unappetizing in appearance. No meat on chicken wings, just bones. Vegetables are usually flimsy. The sweet and sour chicken has A LOT of thick breading on it. The orange chicken is not at all like chicken but more like balls of something coated in a glaze. It just doesn't look or taste like chicken when you bite into it. The food tastes better when ordering from the kitchen but they've cut the rice back to hardly nothing. Rice is the cheapest and most abundant food on the planet? It used to be served on a standing silver platter with a lid which kept it nice and warm. Now, it comes in some pitiful little bowl with no lid and it gets cold really fast. The portion is about 1/3 of what it was. The hot tea... this one really burns my hide. For over 25 years, hot tea came with the meal if you wanted it. Now, they charge $1.50 for a pot. It was always a very nice gesture to receive hot tea with your meal and we so looked forward to it... especially in the cold months. I can pay the $1.50 but why should I when they've increased everything else so expensive and cut back the portions to nothing. When you increase prices AND cut portions... well, that's the death of any restaurant. They've replaced the complimentary hot tea with ice cream cups that looks like something you get in elementary school. Blue Bunny to be exact. Hot tea is more of a crowd pleaser at a Chinese restaurant than Blue Bunny ice cream cups... which adults have to eat three of them just to equal a dessert helping.I understand price increases... I get it. But, the QUALITY and QUANTITY must be there to justify the increase and it is definitely NOT THERE. Their business has fallen off tremendously so they should take the hint that most people don't enjoy eating at a dirty subpar restaurant with high dollar prices. This restaurant really needs to bring it if they want to attract the business.Step it up big time, Bamboo Garden! Your reputation is at an all time low and Archdale deserves better.

Food quality has gone down dramatically in the last 6-12 months, to the point of being inedible. My family will not be returning.

This is the worse Chinese restaurant you could ever go to. Save yourself some trouble and drive to Greensboro. It's always empty and the service is awful. I wish they could close the place down
