Larger back playground under renovations for the entire summer 2017! Who plans these things??
It's a little warm out, but the skies are clear. Let's throw some discs!
Playground not open yet
Lame-o playground close to bailey Rd entrance
20 hole disc golf! A blast, even for first timers.
golf ball sized things that drop from the trees around the back playground. Hard as a rock. Weird choice for landscaping
Great disc for driving.

I believe Bailey Road Park is the largest park operated by the city of Cornelius. At more than 66 acres, the large disc golf course gives players plenty of room to toss those frisbees and chase after them throughout.Baseball and softball fields, batting cages, a football field, picnic shelters (reservable!) with grills, restrooms, tennis courts and even a walking track.I had a great visit here and would definitely return.[Review 17306 overall - 3293 in North Carolina - 824 of 2022.]

I giving only 1 star Evaluating on the playgrounds alone. The actual ball fields look awesome as does the frisbee golf part. The very very bleak playground more on bailey road is seriously lame-o. The larger playground outback past the tennis courts was likely great 10 years ago but has been very badly neglected. On the up side it is "under renovations". On the downside the town chose July - sept to do the renovations. Seriously, who plans these things. Kids are off for the summer and your closing for the summer. Another bright side is if and when this place does get a facelift it looks like it'll be pretty neat AND best of all big trees line the area so it's nicely shaded. Another note - weird note- the trees that surround the playground has these trees that drop pussy droplets and then clunk - these hard lime colored and sized things start dropping. I'be only lived here a couple years and have no ideas what they are. Weird choice for landscaping by a playground. After some googling I think they are eastern black walnut trees I'll come back this fall and check the renos out and offer an update.

My personal favorite park to go to for disc golf! The course is a well maintained eighteen holes and has just the right amount of difficulty and fun. The park has more than just that though, two tennis courts, two basketball courts, a baseball diamond, and a playground and restroom facilities round out the offerings. There is plenty of parking as well, I've been here several times on the weekend and never had an issue. If the weather is good, come spend an afternoon!

A great disc golf course! Make sure you plan accordingly with time, as there is no lighting in the woods. So if you go later in the day, make sure to be careful as some of the terrain is uneven. Highly recommend wearing sneakers or some type of shoe with grip on the bottom since you are walking on sometimes loose ground. There are 18 separate holes with 2 repeat holes. Just walking the 20 holes I did about 2.5 miles of walking. So hydration is a great idea! There are a ton of beers in the trash can, so drinking is popular too. It is a smoke free establishment. If you are into disc golf, check out there website as they do "glow golf" as a friend put it. Where you use glow in the dark discs and lighted paths. Sounds pretty awesome! Safe to say we will be back!

If you can't find a place to do it at Bailey Road Park, chances are you are either into swimming or equestrian events, because that's about all that isn't available at this place.Located off Hwy. 115 between Cornelius and Huntersville, the park encompasses 57 acres and includes two lighted soccer fields and a football field, three lighted tennis courts, two lighted baseball/softball fields, two full-court basketball courts, a running track, a walking/jogging loop, two playground areas and two sheltered picnic areas with public restrooms. Oh, and there is a 9-hole disc golf course as well. An outdoor band shell was erected in 2007. It stands on the north side near the two soccer fields and has hosted everything from concerts to theatrical performances. While the basketball courts are vaguely lit in the evenings, it is enough to shoot around once your eyes adjust. The lights at the tennis courts shut off at 10:30, and many is the time I have been in the middle of playing, with a ball screaming towards me off a serve, when the lights cut out!Its just an excellent place to get your exercise on.

Love this course for disc golf. Great for beginners. The city has done a lot of work on the course and other facilities in the park. Upgrades to the tennis and basketball courts as well as new holes to the disc golf course. The course is a little tight in places and can get crowded at times. Look out for flying discs. Have been hit here and had several close calls with discs bouncing though my group. Would give 5 stars otherwise.

I really like this park. There is plenty of parking, and a nice variety of resources - I can jog while my husband disc golfs. :) Also now that Operation Boot Camp is there, well, who could ask for more? We had a great time on Saturday when we went there for the demo workout and were actually surprised at how many people were there on a Saturday morning - the place was PACKED! Fun stuff. Good location, too.

The disc golf course is fantastic! I have been playing here for a few months and have improved my skills past the challenges of the course, but I still consider Bailey to be my homebase for disc golf. Its the most enjoyable course in the area. The course is well trimmed and easy to find a rouge thrown disc. Some of the holes are movable so it makes for a nice varity of play. The course is constantly being updated with new directional signs and throw pads etc. Events calender posted on first hole keeps you informed of "aces" by previous players, upcoming events, and general information. The feilds are great as well. Great for a pick up game of football, soccer, and baseball with your friends.Tennis courts have available lighting at night. It's bright... almost too bright.Nice walking/running trails out of the way of the feilds and disc golf course. There is a random amphitheater in case you ever need to put on a show. Or bring your band to play background music to sporting events.Available restrooms and water fountains.Great place and probably my favorite place in the area to star gaze!Check it out.
