Apple City BBQ is only open 3-days a week, so make sure you're the first customer when they ooen their doors on Thursday at 11 AM! I came here for lunch and ordered the BBQ Sandwich with potato salad as my side. It was delicious and fresh! The BBQ had a great smoked flavor and the sandwich was topped with coleslaw. The slaw was perfect and didn't have excess amount of "juice". The sandwich came with your choice of sauce, hot, sweet, or vinegar. I picked hot, but it wasn't that hot to me. The Potato Salad was delicious too. I finished it before the sandwich! I can't wait to try more of the menu the next time I visit Taylorsville. The only reason they get 4 stars is because I wish they were open more days!

The food was fantastic. I had smoked barbecue wings. The wife had ribs. My son had a barbecue platter. Some of the best barbecue we have ever ate. Service was superior the place was 100% clean. I will be back after really recommend.

Small little bbq joint with indoor and outdoor seating. Nice atmosphere and service was great. Simple menu with good amount of choices that don't overwhelm. I tried the bbq sliders which came with pulled chicken, pulled pork and brisket. Really good and the sauce was phenomenal. My picky kids found some food they liked and my son was excited to see he got 8 nuggets instead of 4 like most places. All and all it was a really good place and I highly recommend. Price was not bad at all.

My buddy and I were in town to visit a local living legend and needed to find lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Driving down the main strip in search of an independent eatery was proving fruitless. Pulled off to check out yelp. Never can tell in a really small town because of the sample size, but it looked decent so we put it in the Waze. Had to drive a ways, but boy was it worth it! I had the brisket and pulled pork with jalapeno grits and mac and cheese. Super good food and friendly attentive service. Will definitely be back when in the area again.

We were in Taylorsville for a dance competition and was fortunate to locate this spot for lunch. I had the slider trio ( brisket, smoked chicken, pulled pork) with sweet potato casserole. My DH had the brisket sandwich with baked beans. Everything was very good, well seasoned and fresh homemade pickles. I got the slaw and pickles on the side. Very fresh! It was so good I forgot to snap a pic before it was all gone. I see why other reviewers said to make it a stop. They are only open Thurs to Saturday and it gets busy quickly.

We were in search of NC brisket, and decided to take the 30 minute drive to Apple City BBQ. We were not disappointed! It's tiny, friendly, and homey with delicious brisket, pulled pork, cole slaw, man-'n-cheese and sweet tea. We highly recommend this little gem, and the drive out there was beautiful too!

Food was disappointing. I had pulled pork, it was loaded with fat and even had a small bone. The sides are not homemade and did not taste good. Drive on to Jd's in Lenoir or Rutherford college, I would not waste your time and money on this.
