Almost On the Lake

One of our favorite local eating establishments. Always great food and friendly servers and staff.

We love almost on the lake but tonight we ordered 2 orders of chicken tenders ($10 for 4 piece on special) and an order of potato skins (4 skins for $8)And the fries were soggy and old and the tenders were small! Very disappointing experience tonight. We ordered a side salad and another person ordered the fish cakes and they got normal portions, but both plates of chicken tenders were very disappointing. The chicken was good but the presentation and the fries were not.The salad was delicious as always and the lady who ordered fish cakes said they were really good!

My food was undercooked and it was a small amount of food considering the cost. It did not make a good first impression.

Very good food and very good service. Which is to say that I thought the food was good and that I think the service was very good. And the silverware was clean.

There were not many restaurants in Moravian Falls area and the one that we originally wanted to eat wasn't open for dinner earlier. So we went to google map to show us the nearest dinner place and we found Almost on The Lake restaurant.Majority of food that we ordered were fried but they also serve sandwiches, burgers, salad, etc.Our server was an attentive teenager and very friendly. Always made sure we had what we need and made sure dinner were okay.We started with fried pickle as our appetizer and boy oh boy, its like they poured salt on those fried pickle. The ranch dipping sauce really help tone down the saltiness tho.The fried flounder and southwest fried mahi-mahi were good and had a good batter consistency to it.The fried okra and onion rings were good especially the ring onion it was sweet onion in the inside and great fried batter.I had fried squash as one of my side and it was kinda weird to my taste since it's crunchy on the outside but soggy wet squash in the inside.The fried okra and hush puppies were good and I recommend them along with the onion rings.Our children had fries on the side and they were soggy which is weird since with everything being fried the fries was a big disappointment.The cheese quesadilla was okay, the salmon need seasoning (salt and pepper).The portion were generous and my MIL and husband really enjoyed their peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream.I think the food deserve 3 and 1/2 stars which is pretty average but the service was good. So overall I give them 4 stars food and service combine.

Good food, great dessert and awesome service. Had the blackened salmon, fried okra and sprouts with corn bread. Enjoyed a brownie sundae as well. Will come back again.

Charming staff, live music & great food! We were all really happy with our meals - my husband especially enjoyed the hush puppies, my ribs were delicious, the chicken pot pie was yummy and comforting. Oh & don't miss the banana pudding! It was perfect!

The food is absolutely amazing. Every on the menu is delicious. The staff is wonderful and treat you so good. I have to admit I aways get a salad. Its so fresh and the house dressing it's the best. I wish they bottled it for sale. The potato wedges are the bomb. The soups are so so good. but again everything is great.

Got worse last couple times must have changed cooks. Not only that but I got a Large Popcorn Shrimp dinner 28 pieces of shrimp about the size of a quarter. Hush puppies 3, potato wedges 3 iced tea first glass fair weak taste had half glass and refilled worse NO SUGAR tasted like water. My last time am telling acquaintances, I struggled to give them a generous 3.

Second visit...just not as good. Strange corner table, fewer options. Menu not ad good prices went up. Maybe first time was just a novelty effect. But prob will not go back.
