I had been wanting to check out this sweet shop for a while. My son and I were in the area today and decided we had to try the famous clown cookies for ourselves. From the moment you enter the building you are surrounded by cases of delicious treats. Grab a number and browse until your number is called. I appreciated the organization and the help provided to my son and when choosing other treats to go along with our clown cookies. Prices are so reasonable and everything we tried was fantastic!

I tried the sweet shoppe a couple times this week while in town. The pastries were good. The front doors were covered in hand prints every morning that I stopped in. The service was not welcoming or friendly. The man with a mustache and another employee were complaining about a customer that had just left. They were also fussing about an employee who didn't charge the correct amount for an order. Neither of them even acknowledged that I was there. There is a blonde haired lady who drives a jeep that just seems so unhappy to be there. The place is really nice and open with plenty of seating. Hopefully they will get it together.

Amazing food and nice people. I went in thinking I just wanted cupcakes for our daughters baby shower. Asked if they could do a lions head for the Safari theme and they said no problem

Every single thing that we've had from is here exceptional! For example, the fruit bar is simply life changing. We live over an hour away and will continue to make the trip each month to get our fix. Overall, there's not much else that needs to be said other than you need to stop by and check this place out as soon as possible!

Two Words: CREAM HORN! We make a point to stop here every holiday when we are visiting family and it is well worth leaving early to make it there! The bakery has a small town feel and is very welcoming. They are known for their Clown Cookies and Cakes but Ill admit I got hooked on the Cream Horns and haven't tried anything else! My husband loves the double M&M cookie with cream filling. The cookie has got to be 2 or more inches thick and absolutely huge! The other smaller cookies are great as well and they will package them separately if you want to take them to other people! The prices are so low too! But don't forget your cash or checkbook (Yes they take checks), they don't do cards! If you are in the area make a trip to the backside of the downtown buildings to the Sweet Shop!

Cinnamon rolls, pastries and danishes are outstanding. Customer service not so much. No smile nothing. Sad because I was raised to b hospitable to everyone. I get it people have a bad day but gosh every time I walk in. Must be me, right?!Hopefully with the new place being built they will have a new attitude adjustment. Makes you wonder how they stayed in business for so long. Definitely the food and not the customer service

Went into the Albemarle Sweet Shop for the first time today. The woman who took our order was rude and seemed like she would rather be doing anything else than dealing with us as customers. As we began our order (after letting several people go in front of us because we weren't ready) the woman who was taking our order looked at another worker and rolled her eyes after I stated that we were first time customers and wanted to try a variety of their sweets. They apparently assumed we wouldn't see this, but we did. The entire time this woman took our order she barely said a word to us, and what was said was very matter-of-fact, short, and curt. I haven't even tried the sweets that we ordered, but I already know we probably won't be back. I would normally not overthink things and just conclude that maybe they're having a bad day, HOWEVER, all those customers I let go ahead of me were treated so kindly which was a major shift from what I experienced

Even though I am a Stanly County native, I had never been to the Sweet Shop. My first visit was one week ago on 2 November 2021. This review is NOT about the product; it is about RUDENESS. I purchased 4 oatmeal sandwich cookies ($6.60), a coconut custard pie ($10), and a sweet potato pie ($10). I observed that the clerk packaged these items correctly. When she rang up my sale, the cookies, coconut pie, and an apple crumb pie ($13.50) were on my ticket. I told her that I did not get or want an apple crumb pie. She proceeded to place both pie boxes on the counter, untape them, and show me what was in the boxes. She then said "I KNOW what I put in these boxes". I indicated that I knew that but she had charged me for an apple crumb pie instead of a sweet potato pie. She snapped back the same "I KNOW what I put in these boxes". After that she seemed to get a real attitude with me, as if it were personal. She changed my ticket from the apple crumb to the sweet potato pie, so maybe she really did not KNOW or remember what she put in those boxes. But why the attitude and rudeness? I didn't make the mistake. Was I supposed to just pay the $3.50 extra and not say anything? The bakery was busy, and two other women had waited on customers, and they both seemed pleasant. The shop had a good selection of reasonably priced baked goods. I would like to come back, but I don't like dealing with attitude, rudeness, and drama. This employee's actions were just bizarre and unreasonable.I understand that dealing with the public can be challenging. That's why I always try to be patient and pleasant. Even after this rudeness, I still thanked her, but there was no response.
