I'd like to give 2.5 stars but can't so being generous with 3. Quite over priced for quality of food we were given. Fries and onion rings had no seasoning whatsoever, just bland. Asked for L/T/O on the burger and tomato was left off. Club itself was pretty good despite being a bit soggy but that happens with togo. Wasn't told about the 1.75 upcharge for onion rings which again for flavorless rings seems excessive. Was also charged for 2 drinks when the burger is clearly listed as a "combo", does combo not mean a side and drink come with anymore? They also added a 4% service charge which I assume is because we paid with card but again would be nice if these things were communicated to the customer. Was looking for a decent burger spot at a fair price, we will keep looking.

AJs is what we country girls call a hole in the wall! And I say that with the utmost respect. I love AJs. The have fast service and great food. The staff is always pleasant regardless if you place a phone order, come inside, or pull up in the drive up. They have a number of options. My favorites are chicken tips over rice, the fish sandwich, and the burgers. If you're in Harrisburg you should definitely try this spot out. It's a locals favorite. Google the restaurant and look at images to see the menu.

I really and truly wanted to like this place. Especially since I love mom and pop shops because chain restaurants get so boring. But this place was just so underwhelming. I ordered bacon cheeseburger. Burger patty was so thin and didn't even fill up the big bun. Burger to bun ratio was way off. And then it wasn't even piping hot. Neither were my fries. Even though things are supposedly cooked to order, it was lukewarm. No flavor on the fries, not one piece of salt. And burger was tasteless too. The fries did come with a nice dipping sauce, but when fries are not hot, the sauce wasn't a saving grace. Even though food was very subpar, at least the staff was extremely friendly. But honestly, I don't see myself going back to pay for more lackluster food.

Really great food and a nice sized menu! I love the small-town feel and atmosphere of this place! A friend brought me one day and I was very impressed! Fresh-tasting food, and a nice, friendly environment to come to feed the family.

AJs is one of those places that is a local eat. You've probably driven by it many times while In Harrisburg and just not noticed it. AJ's is a family owned restaurant with very friendly wait staff and speedy service. They aren't open on the weekend.The restaurant is very clean but not fancy. Theres enough parking all the way around the building, which can accommodate large work trucks too. For lunch you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Food is served in food baskets with a liner or on disposable plates (depending on what you order.) Even if they are busy, food typically comes out within a couple of minutes.They serve sandwiches, seafood, BBQ ( a little of something for everyone!) Every food plate that comes out looks more appetizing than the next. My hands down favorite meal here is the spaghetti, served with a side salad - choice of dressing, slice of toast and a container of parmesan cheese for your spaghetti on the side. One of the things that I like about their spaghetti is that it tastes home made. Very filling and large portions that you probably wont be able to finish! If I'm in Harrisburg around lunchtime, you can bet that I'm definitely eating here!

How many times have I passed by AJs. Let's just say too may times. I stopped for lunch with my granddaughter who was insistant that she have a hot dog. I looked up hot dogs in H'burg and AJs came up. As ypur walk in, you order at the counter and they bring your meal to the table-fast! I ordered a Greek Chicken pita and a hot dog with fries. The hot dog was grilled not boiled and the bun was steamed. The grandgirl loved it. As I said, I ordered the Greek chicken pita. It had chicken, diced lettuce diced, tomatoes, feta and tzaziki sauce. The chicken was tender with a hint of lemon and oregano...excellent! The pita was soft and steamed. Lot's of feta and sauce. So good that it rivals my college staple at Sluvlaki on Blacksburg VA. I've never said that before. Also, the prices are reasonable. One thing ...it was lunch and about 20 people and they were all men beside me and another lady. Who knows?

Should have listened to the adage, if the parking lot is empty, there is a reason. It was supper time so we stopped in. We were the only people there. Menu was confusing, had to ask many questions. The special board posted meals more expensive than if you ordered the items separately. When I got my meal the instant mashed potatoes were sour. Everything else other than the chicken strips were lukewarm war and in the dangerous temperature zone. I told the waitress they were bad and asked for beans instead. I was given a small bowl of bean pieces. I would never eat here again. Drove past the Harrisburg Family Restaurant and it was packed. There is a reason AJ's was not. To the owner of AJ's, serve fresh good food or go out of business. Everyone else, find somewhere better to eat.

Ajs used to be such a yummy place to eat, there chicken tenders used to be great and hand breaded, there ranch used to be homemade, and there spaghetti sauce used to be sooo yummy and great. But since new management they've obviously taken short cuts and that's sad. Jimmy definitely needs to come back and save ajs before it's too late.

Have been eating at AJ's for over 20 years. I cannot think of Harrisburg and not equate AJ's in the same thought. It was a go-to for all the years I brought my children up and I live over 45 minutes from there now but still make a trip as often as possible. My favorite dish is the Spaghetti. It is hands down the best I've ever had anywhere or even make at home. I wish you had more locations :) The service is always top-notch. The ambiance is clean, friendly, where you will generally always see someone you know. We love you AJ's. Thank you for 20 years of memories.

Food was okay but something I didn't like was being charged $1 extra on each entree that had onion rings when the entrees said they came with two sides. The girl taking our order didn't tell us there was an extra charge for the onion rings, but I'm wondering why the charge in the first place when the onion rings were a normal side...and again, both plates came with two sides. ?? Also, something else we weren't told was having to pay a fee to use a debit/credit card. We chose to go to this restaurant due to the good reviews and seemingly reasonable prices on the menu we read online, but I just don't like the extra charges on sides that appear to be included with the meal and not being told beforehand about it as well as the charge we would have due to using a debit card. They need to be forthcoming with these things before paying. I shouldn't have to see it after the fact by looking at the receipt. We let it go, just not sure if we will be going back since we can eat many other places for that amount of money. The whole point of going there was trying to save some money.
