We were at a Nigerian conference and they didn't have Nigerian food so we went looking. Called a place about 45 mins before close for pickup. At first the young lady on the phone didn't want to take the order. After a little coaxing, she did. My girlfriend ordered veggie soup with beef, a meat pie and jollof. On the phone, at the end, the girl repeated back the order, but kept saying Egusi soup, which we kept clarifying back to veggie. We showed up, paid the money and got out food. When we checked it, it was egusi soup not veggie. We called that out and the girl stuck her head in the window and said she was the one we talked to and we were wrong, we had in fact ordered egusi soup. We did not. She promised she wouldn't make it right and invited the person who was out front to come back and make it himself. He excused himself and went back there. After not very long, her attitude had changed and she was calm and not so spicy. I think I know why...I have never ever EVER had food so salty. It was the worst food I've had that I can remember. Each dish (except the meat pie) was over salted. I'm pretty sure the young girl did it for revenge. Over salted jollof, over salted chicken, over salted plantains (didn't think that was possible), over salted veggie soup. Meat pie (pre-made) wasn't over salted - but was mostly dough and not much beef. Just terrible. I would hope those flavors are not the norm. If so, please know that good Nigerian food is not that salty. If the young lady did it on purpose, man - reconsider that hire.

The food was amazing! It was also my first time eating African food from a restaurant and I was not disappointed. The greens were salty, so beware but the fish was amazing. I am always weary about eating fish with the bones but it was so good. The fish was perfectly blackened to the point where it wasn't burnt at all, but crispy and the meat was perfectly juicy. I can't wait to go back and try something else. There is plenty of parking as it is in a small shopping center- like place. I did not go in but I saw the inside a bit and it looked decent, cute, and clean from a far. It was very easy to order over the phone and the food was ready in like 10 or so minutes after we got there (could have been shorter due to hangry symptoms). It was apparently busy though. We went on a Sunday. Can't wait to choose my next meal.

Great food I had a meat pie, fufu with veggies and goat. My first time having fufu it was a loved introduction. My friend and I had the place to ourselves they played afrobeat which was great. They have a bar as well. I would go back again and try another dish. They had a lot to choose from.

This restaurant experience has been ok over the past few months but I found myself so disappointed with my latest order that I had to go to another Nigerian restaurant for a different meal to get my fix.The Yam Porridge was a very small portion, the goat meat I ordered was not well cooked and was very meager (three pieces that were mostly bone). The restaurant attempted to make it right by adding a few pieces of beef to my meal and throwing it in the microwave, presumably to warm up the extra meat they threw in.Overall it was very disappointing. Hopefully the next experience is better...if I decide to go back.

Omg!!!! If you are in search of authentic African food, look no further. I must admit as a Nigerian woman I am very critical of other people's culinary skills, but this place gives my tastebuds a treat EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!! I love it here! Stop here, you will not be disappointed! Owner is wonderful and dedicated to creating a fabulous experience!!!!

So I ended up cheating on ZOWEES (N TRYON) for this "African Kitchen" only because zowees was closed. This is the Cassava Leaves Sauce & Steamed Rice absolutely DISGUSTING. This isn't no real african place. 0/10. SO dry and taste like it's been out all day. DO NOT buy here. Taste like DIRT.

Scam jollof tasted like it was made 3 days before it was dry,, our server was alright until they told me that my side of suya cost $16 when I had looked on the menu the whole plate was $16. So they over charged me then tried to say that the menus were old. I'm African and never in my 21 years of living I had to pay $16 for 7 pieces of suya. So yall if ur going and appear to look American they will charge unreasonable prices. I took my American friends with me so they can have a taste of my culture and was extremely unimpressed. Egusi soup was mid and that's coming from 3 people. I had the cassava leaves and it was alright too didn't taste fresh and the rice tasted like it was made days before as well. In my opinion one of the worst places for African food. The jollof rice was a disgrace to the Nigerian community and they are supposed to have the best idk wtf I had that night but it definitely wasn't Nigerian jollof. And I'm still upset about my $16 side of suya. If I could give no stars I would. FYI the restaurant doesn't match the name on google

Being Nigerian (born and raised) I've been looking for a place to eat good native food when my mother won't cook. I've tried Samoha, Royal African, and the cooking pot. When I say the food here is delicious,I mean it!!! FLAVORFUL FLAVORFUL FLAVORFUL!!!! Everything I've had was good( not better than my mom's tho lol) Serving size is a little small compared to other places but I rather have a moderate portion on Great Tasting food, than a big portion of mediocre food. It's good to know that I can get good authentic African food here and not have to settle for "TexMex" African food.
