Fun place in downtown - great location. The menu and food is good. Service is quick, overall a great place if you are in the area. Drinks were good and they had a big selection. Has a laid back vibe, highly recommend to check out if you are in the area and want to stop by with some friends or even by yourself!

Such a fun place but with the change in ownership the atmosphere has changed. We used to be able to listen to music over the speakers and if there was a sporting event going on we could hear it in the bar! Now everything goes through the "Touch Tunes" jukebox which only plays censored music that you have to pay for. Sad to see this place change so quickly in such a small amount of time.

The most fun I've had buying beer and wine. One customer, who happens to be a bartender at another establishment, coupled with the store's in-house bartender, made my experience fun and worthwhile. I think they were moved by my cowboy hat!!! Nonetheless, they assisted me in choosing the perfect beer and wine for my gathering! What a great time tasting and clowning! Thanks guys!

Cool little spot. Super friendly staff, you'll often find the owner working - and I've always liked that. It makes me a total sucker for becoming a regular if I meet the people that are running things and putting their heart in a place. You can stop here for a 6 pack on your way home or hang out for a beer. I love options. 1st Ward Beverage is tucked in an apartment complex, so if you're not looking closely, you could pass right by it. But don't fret, just go around the block. When I came here the first time I was very surprised how easy it was to navigate around this little complex. I often get anxious trying to find parking lots/spaces/etc anywhere close to the city but I didn't have any trouble here. They have plenty of local beer, a rotating draught and local produce. Beer options in bottles, cans, draught, singles, whatever you need. Bonus for Food Truck Fridays!

I was riding my bike home from brewery hopping on a Saturday afternoon and came across this gem of a bottle shop. There is a bar that seats 10 - 15, a couple of televisions, about 12 beers on draft and a cooler with several other bottle selections. The owner was behind the bar and very helpful and knowledgeable. He plans to keep the taps rotating, mostly with non-local brews - his philosophy being that you can hit the breweries for local beer, come to the bottle shop for other options. Not much in the way of food - some bags of chips/cookies, but you're not going to have a meal here. Overall, I am thrilled to have found this place. Check it out - it has a laid-back, relaxed feel.

Several blocks from uptown but still within the I-277 loop, a great place to stop, relax, catch up on sports while having a draft beer or two. Located at 7th and McDowell (in the base of the Condo/Apt complex on 7th), I really enjoy the laid back fill of the place. Free parking can be found close by. The beers on tap rotate regularly and include local state and regional selections which are top notch. Also you can choose for other types of beer, etc in their frig's to drink in or take away. Last time I was there they also had a small selection of prepared sandwiches that are catered in. Several TV's, a few bar tables, a long bar and an outside area provide plenty of options whether you are alone or with a group.

We spent the night in Charlotte on the way back home from Georgia and I stopped here after dinner to grab a 6-pack (ended with a 4-pack) of local beer. This place is tucked away under what seemed to be an apartment/condo complex. It's essentially a small beer store and small beer bar combined...all focused on craft brews. They had a great selection of unique beers, even though the bartender apologized for being low on selection following the Game of Thrones season premiere. I was in-and-out without a drink at the bar...so I can't give a full review, but I was happy with the findings and it seemed like a cool place.
