1841 Cafe

We loved everything about this place. The service, the food, the atmosphere, the location. A good portion of the menu was not available because of supply chain issues and just having acquired a cook they were keeping the menu manageable. I had the BBQ platter hubby had the Cajun pasta special. Our waitress Mackenzie was THE BEST. My pork was so moist and tender and the vinegar sauce was amazing spicy and zingy. I also had enough to bring over 1/2 home. I had chips and salad for my sides. I dipped my chips in the vinegar sauce and ate the entire pile which is unusual for me. The salad dressings are all made in house or at least the ranch dressing is and that makes all the difference. The people who were seated next to us placed an order, something happened and somehow it didn't come out before they had to leave, the owner was there and told them she would deliver the food to them at the ball park where their son was playing ball. She comped the entire meal, refused to let them pay for any part of it and delivered it to them. Next time we are in this area this will be the first place we eat!

We went on the day of the car show. It was very crowded but we had no problem getting a table without a wait. Food and ambiance were very good.

An eager to make you happy menu with a friendly team of locals and staff to ensure a good experience. We had the burgers, the pastrami, the grilled chicken breast with the artichoke sauce, and it was all really good, and that chocolate cake was to die for I am not a chocolate cake fan. I never ordered. Somebody brought us a piece and it's real old school style. It's not that dark, dense death by chocolate, which I don't care for this was light and almost like a spice cake, I would definitely go back for that. We enjoyed ourselves and it's great to see locals running a successful restaurant in Lenoir.

What a great atmosphere! This place feels like the Cheers of Lenoir. Lots of regular customers and everyone was friendly. The barstools have the names of customers that helped the owner through the pandemic by sponsoring barstools. The owner was bartending the day I came in and was an absolute delight. You can tell she really cares about the place. I ordered the Kentwood chicken sandwich, blackened with the standard fixings, and pub chips with a side of ranch. The food was excellent. She talked me into some chocolate pound cake, which my waistline didn't need but my belly sure did. Parking was free on the street and I was in and out in under an hour. I will be back.

Down from SD and this place was great. We got all the southern flavors pimento cheese dip, and Baloney sandwich was great. All great flavors to remind us of the 15 years we spent in NC. Our server was great, attentive and helped us pick the great food. Collards are some of the best I have had.

My potato soup and my mother's fries were served cold. Service was slow to nonexistent and by the end of our visit, we felt as though we were being held hostage as we waited on the bill for the mediocre and cold food we ate. We considered ourselves lucky.... We could have found a piece of paper towel in our coffee like the lady beside us. Maybe it was an off day and I genuinely hope so because the employees were kind. I don't think we'll be back, though.

I would have loved to try the food. my boyfriend had been wanting to take me and we went on 10/17/24. when we entered, we were told to sit at a table that a young lady pointed to. She did bring us menus but never asked us our drink order. We sat at our table for over 20 minutes, chose our food and continued to wait. Another couple walked in and was seated at the table next to us. They were immediately seated and drink order taken. We waited about 10 more minutes before leaving. It is a really cool place. Maybe we'll try again at a later date.

The food and service were both excellent!Best Coconut Cream Pie ever! We will go back soon. Makensie is Wonderful !!!!

Real mash potatoes ,green beans, COLLARD GREENS , The artichoke dip and pimento cheese were homemade. The menu had something for everyone. I was told the chicken salad was homemade as was most of the menu and all the desserts were made from scratch. Great straight up southern food.
