"OHHHH THIS PLACE HAS ME IN A CHOKEHOLD! When friends and family come and visit I always direct them to try this spot for breakfast/brunch. Make sure you get here EARLY, they don't take reservations and it's really small inside. My favorite dish is the shrimp and grits, but between the pancakes and french toast honestly you can't go wrong with any dish here. Everything is always good and the service is always excellent. "My parents live in the area, and over the years I've heard about Duckworths being a go to place for them when wanting a guaranteed tasty lunch while out and about. While I was in town visiting with my sister recently, I was delighted to finally visit myself and I totally understand why this place is such a local favorite. First off, every staff member we interacted with was wonderful, but especially our waitress, Whitney. If I lived in the area, I would come visit for lunch and request her tables. Whitney has a welcoming, warm aura about her and was genuinely friendly, kindly asking about our visit and chatting with us as we made order decisions. She was helpful with menu questions and suggestions, and a sincere delightful spot in our day. She made sure we were all confident on our orders, clarifying sauce favorites and complimenting choices we made along the way. I had the best beer of the trip while onsite - the TropiQuench'l by Charlotte Micro Brewery, Heist Brewery, and my sandwich order was a delight. I had the Hand Battered Chicken Sandwich, Whitney clarified I was down for the Sweet n' Bold Gold sauce before finalizing my order (i was - and it was great!) and nodded along as I went with the kitchen made potato chips as my side - a favorite of the table for sure. This spot is large enough to not feel crowded - with plenty of booths, tables, and bar space. I really dig the sports bar vibes and beer-loving décor. I will definitely be requesting another visit the next time I make to NC."

"NOTE: This review is from several months ago and has been in drafts. Oops!! There's nothing like a red eye flight and no airplane food to make one appreciate the first meal. Researched Yelp to determine a good breakfast spot. When numerous comments mentioned long lines and the stars were above a 4.5, we decided to try it. Because it was early we were one of the first to enter. The colorful ambiance was bright enough to waken our slumbering eyes. Choices, choices, choices. The Pancake Flight, the Habanero Pork Belly Breakfast Fried Rice and the fresh juices woke up the tastebuds and set the tone for our day and vacation.Would definitely return."

"Visiting our son at college and he brought us here as it was the only place he knew of open after 10pm Monday. Fantastic service. Delicious food. Several no meat options, like the veggie quesadilla with cowboy caviar- can't get that just anywhere! Menu is a little pricey, not for the average college student. Quality of the food is outstanding. This may be our spot when we're in town."

"Cute place reminded me of restaurants at Virginia beach.. the crab dish was good.. filling enough .. We had to wait to be seated and we decided to have a drink at the bar.. bartenders there not so friendly but of course friendly when they give you your Bill hoping to get a decent tip.. our waitress seemed like she was rushing ... checked on us once thus the 4 stars.. over all the place was nice and clean.. The food was good but the service not so good .. with all the other places to eat on the boardwalk I probably will not be back.."

"I've been eating at Mac's Speed shop for years & remain a big fan. I absolutely love their smoked wings. The wings are meaty and tender with a nice char on the outside. I am really into their Down South eggrolls stuffed with pulled pork, cole slaw, mac & cheese. Honestly, put anything in an egg roll and I'm eating it. Recently, I tried their buffalo chicken wrap with Hot Gold sauce and it was pretty good! The chicken was a little over cooked and chewy but other than that, great flavor. I've actually never had their BBQ but would be open to trying it."

"Game Day Paradise: A bar with wall-to-wall TVs, full bar, and surprisingly good bar eats. You know that girl in high school you've kind of always known was there, but you never really spoke to - but then when you actually gave her a chance she was super cool? Yeah, this is my current relationship with Duckworth's. This is a great, chill option if you're looking to watch sports and have a drink + have the option to eat. Most bars like this in Charlotte serve really greasy, fried cholesterol on a platter. However, Duckworth's actually has a pretty ample menu and the food is good. If you're looking for a good sports bar in the uptown area - Duckworth's is a very solid option. Honestly, I think it's underrated."

"My wife and daughter selected Eddie's and so it's time for an update and upgrade. Not nearly as busy at 3pm on a weekday, we had very little wait. Food did not sit in the kitchen long before it was brought to us.Red bean nachos. Good but needed more cheese. Blackened salmon salad. Very good portion and presented nicely though it could use more dressing tossed through. And the corned beef reuben was assembled nicely with plenty of meat and cheese.I'm glad to return. "We decided to go with takeout. The menu has a lot of choices. I had a difficult time finding something that didn't need to be altered. My boys had already decided on their lunch. Pink'y's was busy. We ordered then waited outside. Our meal took about 30 minutes to be ready. After leaving we were missing items ordered. We returned. The staff gave us a hard time which was unfortunate. At the end of the day, the food was good, not great."

"Aesthetic: No frills sports bar with a large variety of wings, sandwiches, bar fare, and a full cocktail bar. Experience: Wow, I was impressed with this spot! I came here after seeing a picture of the caraway bread online, and it did not disappoint. The Beef on 'Weck was incredible, it was a tender beef sandwich with seedy caraway bread and a side of au jus and horseradish sauce. I'm honestly obsessed. The wings were a great value as well, we happened to stop by on Wing Wednesday where the deal is only $1 per wing! My favorite flavor was the Gold Rush, a mustard based bbq sauce. I loved it all, and our waitress was super sweet! Conclusion: Get the Beef on 'Weck, it's perfection! This is a great sports bar, I highly recommend it."

"I don't think I have ever had a bad experience at this place and today was no except. The waitress was great and fun. She got everything perfect. She was fun and engaging. The only thing that has ever bothered me is the smell. I don't know what the cleaning products are. I think it's the floor cleaner is bad. I've tried eating outside but I hate smokers as you would know if you've read a review from me. I don't know if they allow smoking but I have asthma and I can't breathe if some someone smokes near me. People are rude and if they smoke they don't care if you can breathe. It's nice on the patio and Central Ave is crowded traffic and noise but if that's ok you will enjoy this place. I would suggest you go. It's great and the Bison is the best in Charlotte."

"We were in Charlotte to see a comedian and arrived an hour early. We took a walk around uptown to find a snack. We stumbled upon Red Eye Diner, which didn't look busy and we figured they could get us in and out quickly. The ambiance is what you would expect from a diner. Dowop pictures on the wall and a big laminated menu with lots of options including breakfast all day. I wasn't hungry, but there is always room for dessert. I got the banana pudding with vanilla wafers and whipped cream on top. It was just ok. The pudding wasn't as thick and I typically like, but all and all it was good enough for my snack.My family was much hungrier and got chicken and waffles and added Mac and cheese. It's the eggy baked kind of Mac and cheese. The waffle was excellent and the fried chicken wings were fresh, crisp, and well spiced.Our bill was affordable and the service was great! I will add that when we left and got to the theatre my iPhone dinged me that I left my AirPods. I called the dinner and they immediately answered and looked but didn't see them. I went into the "find my" app and realized they fell out in my car and were showing in the parking deck. (I found them after the show and slid next to my seat )I would return to Red Eye Diner again."

"Cedric's Tavern is in a cute area of the Biltmore property called the Antler Hill Village and Winery. It has a good size outdoor seating area, inside, and nice size bar. It was packed, so we had a 30 minute wait. Our server Tom was great. We had some wins, some misses, and some flat out losses. First up they brought 4 waters and there was about 4 ice cubes in each. I don't understand why restaurants are getting so greedy with the ice! (Loss). Next up the jar of pickles came. Best fresh house made pickles I've had. Crunchy. Vinegary and full of flavor. (Win). Next up our cauliflower with beer cheese. It was served cold. Under seasoned and hardly any of the cheese sauce. (Miss). A runner brought us a bowl of the beer and bacon almonds. We hadn't ordered them but since she had set them down she left them. Salty with a touch of sweetness. (Win). Our final app was the baked Brie. Described as mini baked Brie until bubbling... our Brie was the opposite of bubbling, it was cold. And the crostinis were also cold, not buttery or toasted and borderline stale. The cranberry pistachio compote was good. (Loss). The last of the food that I had was the pork burger. Something I've never had before and would never make at home. It was described as a blend of estate-raised pork, bacon and roasted garlic, topped with Irish Cheddar, Guinness mayo, sauteed sweet onions, and pickle chips, served with a side of Tavern chips. The tavern chips were ice cold. And had zero salt on them. I don't know if all of our cold food was the chefs fault, the expediter, or the runner but it was an issue. An issue that we didn't complain about so shame on us for not speaking up. The pork burger was good. Seasoned, warm, and served on a buttery toasted bun with a good amount of the Guinness mayo. I did pull almost all of the sautéed sweet onions off because there was too many. (Overall plate was a win/miss). Feedback from my friend's on their food: Pub Burger, awesome. fish and chip; fish was greasy but fries with malt vinegar was good. Wedge salad good minus the cherry tomatoes. (It's not tomato season yet). My Oh George cocktail was Crown Royal, Grand Marnier, and ginger ale. It was a good sipping cocktail. Overall it's a nice spot inside the Biltmore property to dine. We'd all go back. I would just be more vocal about the cold food if that was the case again."

"I sometimes come to Charlotte to meet with my clients and found the Eagle last spring. The food is very good. -Fried chicken. What they are known for. Really good.-Spoon bread. Amazing. I got an extra order to bring back home to Los Angeles for my kids. -Burnt ends- very good.-Shrimp and grits- very good.-collared greens- very good.One area they could work on is table service. Our table was a booth behind the bar where we were told the bartender would be our server- except the bar tender seemed busy and didnt stop by often. Maybe they had a server out sick that night?"

"We stopped by Jekyll and Hyde for a beer & appetizer one Saturday afternoon. It is a little outside the Matthews main drag and down the hill but worth the extra short walk! I really liked it here! They have a large beer selection with several taps featuring local beer. We ordered a chicken bacon ranch flatbread and it was really good! The toppings were piled high and drizzled with ranch as well as hot sauce. We really liked the flavors here. It was a tad difficult to eat with your hands, and I ended up taking a fork to it. I want to go back and try more things, will report back."

"Tried this place for the first time, and it somehow fits the plaza midwood vibe perfectly. Walk-in in, you are transported back in time, but in the best way possible. The service was friendly and prompt, and they even have high chairs for kids! We started with the hush puppies, which arrived fresh from the fryer with that slightly sweet, fried goodness. Add a little butter on top and they were great! Then the main course arrived, the 2/3 lb burger. Well prepared and full of flavor, my only regret was I didn't savor it more when consuming. Great place to enjoy, especially later in the evening after having a few drinks, definitely a must try!"

"My fiancé's grandpa is a regular patron at Red Rocks so anytime we are in town to visit we always make time to go to Red Rocks (they even have a burger named after him!) "Great Neighborhood restaurant.First time at this restaurant although for years there was a sister Restaurant in Huntersville at the corner of Old Statesville Road and Gilead across the street from Discovery Place Kids.Went there many times and enjoyed it but they closed several years ago.This Lupie's is actually the Original and owned by the same family.We had been to the Southern Christmas Show at the Park Expo and after shopping, decided on a late lunch here.Very crowded so had to wait for a few minutes but no problem. The line moved quickly.Sat down and reviewed the menu and it's basically American Fare with a few Greek Dishes thrown in,My wife ordered Quiche which is one of her favorites.Been while since I've had it but seeing I lived in Ohio for a number of years, I ordered Cincinnati Chili served 5-way style. Server asked what that way and said "this ain't Cincinnatti."Explained it was Spaghetti with a Red Sauce Greek Style more like a Moussaka Sauce with Onions, Cheese and Beans.It was good but not quite as rich and depth of flavor was not there. Should have been a little richer with a hint of chocolate in the flavor profile. Nevertheless, it was still good and I would consider ordering it again.Service was good and our server very pleasant even if it ain't Cincinnatti."

"We were told about this place from our doctor's office staff, so grateful for their input.. The food was fabulous.. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. Our burgers were perfect. There are lots of choices of things to add to your burger to make it perfect... Burgers were juicey, fresh, and delicious.. And the Sweet Potato Fries, well, they hold their own against any other Sweet Potato Fry.. They may just be the best Sweet Potato Fries I have ever had.. While small in stature, they are big in crispy goodness...That brings me to the sauces, I love a place where they are not afraid to add garlic to the garlic aoill.I highly recommend Burger 21..."

"Came at a weird time so there were not a lot of people and we were seated right away and given menus. I wasn't going to get a drink but was curious because of how insane their bar looked. Their whiskey and bourbon menu is incredible if that's you're thing. Very large menu of cans, bottles, taps, and mixed drinks. Went for the fried green tomatoes for the app this time. Wasn't crazy about the idea when ordering because I don't normally like tomatoes but these were actually delicious. Had to stop myself from literally scraping the plate. I ordered the short rib sandwich and the meat was so tender, I just wish it had more of the horseradish sauce on it. Sidewinder chips are a must have for a side, crispy but fluffy and delicious. They even have an outdoor seating area with a large fireplace if it's a nice night. Give them a shot, but avoid peak hours as I've had to wait for a while before."

"Delicious food and friendly pub! It was our first time at this local favored destination. Not too noisy but a great place for a small group of friends to gather. I had the pimento cheese and green tomato burger, just because it sounds so unique and southern. It was a well seasoned burger and was dripping with cheese. Must try! My wife loved her shrimp tacos and the Cobb salad was huge! Love to come back soon."

"My wife and I were visiting Mt Holly to see family and old friends. About to make my annual visit to Super Walmart to pick up a dozen pounds of livermush (a regional treat like Scrapple) to bring back to Tampa. We decided to check out a place recommended in nearby Cramerton.Late lunch, GPS took us there and parking right in front. Beautiful small town reminded me of my hometown. We were seated right away in a booth that turned out to be very special. Our great waitress Carmen brought drinks and menus.My wife decided on the Sunday Special Meatloaf with fries, all covered in brown gravy. I chose the Sloppy Joseph with Queso and Jalapeños. There was a brass tag on the booth "Home of Charles and Monica Oliver" and we asked Carmen about it. Turns out the couple came in every day for many years and always sat in Booth 13. So the restaurant honored them with the tag. They have passed but their memory lingers. Awww.Turns out Carmen had grown up in town and worked at Mayworths while in school. Then moved away but came back to where she loved. She also gave us a brief history of the town. She was so delightful, we wished we could adopt her as a granddaughter! We complimented the chef and she brought him out to meet us!Excellent food, terrific service and what an atmosphere! Well worth a visit. Made us want to visit more small restaurants in small towns. More than a meal - an adventure! We will be back next trip up."

"My partner and I visited for an Offline promotion. We arrived for an early dinner on a Thursday. The place was mostly empty but there was a corporate party in the bowling area. We picked a table that was dirty and moved to the next one. Our waitress was very kind and helpful. We ordered a couple beers for $10 each, not a great start. Cocktail and wine were even higher price. The menu was a decent variety of pub style food, wings, burgers, dis. I ordered the variety platter with cauliflower buffalo bites, brisket sliders, and wings. The cauliflower bites were soggy, the brisket sliders barely had any meat, and the wings were ok.The server applied my promotion from Offline but entered the wrong amount so I had to have them change it, sigh. I tipped well but won't be back. Pins Mechanical and Dave and Busters are highly superior to this place.The place is all gray and boring, little art, no window treatments, no plants, no cool lighting. The bowling area looks like the only decently decorated spot. The other room is full of games with some interesting furniture."

"I'm actually really impressed with this place and their staff. I'm not sure what I was expecting when we showed up here but we were seated quickly and immediately received service. It's a kind of auto shop vibe and comfortable inside.Food was excellent. My husband ordered the buffalo belay and the chicken was super tender, super flavorful. I ordered the Health Nut with chicken and it was also flavorful. Maybe lacking a little citrus; it's a large helping of arugula. The kids got the Mac and cheese and loved it. It was like home style Mac and cheese, not the crap from the box the other places give. The hush puppies are absolutely the best we've ever had, hands down. Staff was all great and very personable."
