Food was yummy, our server Victoria was super nice, drinks were bomb. Highly recommend trying this place! My husband and I ordered the Birria Pho the Tofu Spring Rolls the Spicy Birria Dumplings and the Saltado Shaken with chicken and we were stuffed Reccomend trying the Lychee Lemonade The interior is really nice and pretty and the music choice was A1. Really nice place.

Our server Donnie greeted us and seated us right away. I ordered the Tom Yum Pasta and it was delicious. The creaminess and savory flavor meshed together perfectly. I would come back just for the pasta. The matcha was made well, creamy and not too sweet! My mom ordered their vegetarian pho. She liked the broth as it wasn't too salty. We're surprised by the vegetables portion with the noodles, it's a good sized meal that will fill you up. She wanted to try their ube coffee but wanted hot coffee. Donnie suggested to give her drip coffee and she can mix in the one cream later on and my mom was thankful and she loved how creamy the coffee was! We would definitely come back for some desserts we didn't get to try!

It was pretty easy to make reservations for 7 on a Tuesday night, I appreciate that you can reserve through Yelp. I got the privilege to order for all of us, so we got the Coconut Ceviche, Sriracha Elote, Papaya Salad for starters. The Coconut Ceviche was the star, it was fresh and unique, it had a variety of mixed protein (salmon, white fish, scallops, etc.) and it came with red tortilla chips. We'd pass on the Elote because it wasn't really spicy nor garlicy or anything close to Sriracha. It was just kind of like roasted corn. We'd also pass on the Papaya Salad because it was actually more like pickled daikon and carrots. There was no papaya in it so I'm not sure if they just ran out of ingredients or what. For the entrees we got the Kare Curry with Veggies, Nasi Goreng Fried Rice with Shrimp, Garlic Noodles with Chicken, and Tom Yum Pasta. The Kare Curry was solid, it was peanut buttery curry and it came with white rice. The Nasi Goreng Fried Rice was the collective crowd favorite, everyone enjoyed it the most out of all the dishes. It was the most flavorful, it had the most depth, it was delicious! The Garlic Noodles were good but I wish it had more roasted garlic flavor to it. The Tom Yum Pasta also could have had more lemongrass tamarind flavor. I wanted to like this dish but I wish the Tom Yum flavor was more prominent. It was still decent though. I also got the Pandan Horchata and the Vietnamese Coffee with Matcha Foam which were both bomb, they taste exactly like what you'd expect. The Pandan Horchata is sweet, not too cinnamony which is fine by me, with a hint of pandan. The Vietnamese Coffee with Matcha Foam is creamy and delicious, the matcha flavor comes at the very end of the sip, and still good the next day!Although not all the dishes were amazingly life changing, I'm still giving this experience 5 stars because the service was incredible! The waitress was super attentive, she went above and beyond to find us a lighter since we brought our own birthday cake for dessert, and the food came out pretty quickly! Honestly the appetizers started coming out within 5 minutes or so and the dishes steadily came out so we never had to wait to eat. Would definitely come back to try more of their menu like the noodle soups!

Stopped by one evening while in the area since the aesthetic of the food looks so pretty. Sadly it's only that, pretty. I would say 2.5 for overall experience but rounding to 3 stars as there's room for improvement.Service was nothing to remember. It's just whatevers, nothing above & beyond or anything. My pandan horchata was refreshing but everything else was disappointing.Coconut ceviche: just tasted like coconut milk, a little sourness with the lime. There was a third protein in there we didn't know what, could it be scallop? Or a white fish? Not sure, it wasn't listed. I didn't want to ask as the service was not warm and fuzzyChicken Wings: had way too much batter, this one did not look pretty like the picture.Curry Kare was just ok. My Filipino husband did not like it. There is a weird after taste to it, I am thinking it could be the spice from the curry. Maybe this fusion does not work? I appreciate the veggies not being over cooked and mushy but the meat seems kinda dry.Seafood Lomo Saltado was bland. Had alot of imitation crab. There was barely any sauce in the stirfry, it was pretty dry. Beef Pho: this is what irks me the most. We didn't know, but u have to choose your add on, if u want bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños and lime, when it's standard at every pho restaurant. My husband missed the "choose your add on" section so we just assumed that don't provide that. Maybe it would help if the server asked when the patron does not mention their add on when ordering pho? Just a thought

Would give this place a 3.5-4/5 The food is great here, but just a bit on the pricier side.. don't get me wrong it's good but not sure that I would come back given the priciness. I like the asian fusion style vibe and nice place to come for an intimate dinner or group gathering. I went with a group of 5 and we tried multiple different things.- Congee: decent and flavorful, pork floss was a nice touch- Birria Ramen: this is veryyyy heavy but broth was decent! A couple bites is great, but after this, its a bit overwhelming.- BIrria dumplings: basically just some fried dumplings with some birria sauce on top - Pho with beef bone: this was a solid bowl of pho, but for nearly ~$20 not sure about that Overall, just okay, im glad i tried it but also not sure I would be rushing to come back

Chao XO Asian Fusion is a truly a hidden gem. It shares the same plaza as the Seafood City in National City. The ambiance of this restaurant is amazing. You can tell the owner really put their heart and soul in making it feel upscale, modern, yet still encapsulating the culture.Since it was our first time we ordered the Kare Curry and Tom Yum noodles as those were the most popular dishes.Everyone raves about the Kare Curry and I will say it is very flavorful but after a few bites I started to get kind of tired of it. It had a strong peanut flavor. I actually really enjoyed the Tom Yum noodles. It definitely had a hint of Tom Yum flavor but all the ingredients worked well with each other. It was almost perfect but the shrimp they used I can tell was the regular shrimp you get frozen in the bags. If they used the jumbo or tiger shrimps with this dish, it would truly elevate the dish even more in my opinion. The service was fast and friendly. There is plenty of seating and it was very empty when I walked in on a Sunday evening. I hope they can keep a float as as the dishes we had were delicious and very creative. The portions were great and although it is a bit more on the pricey side I do think it's worth checking out especially if you want to try something new yet familiar.

WOWOWOW ALL AROUNDEverything about this place is just a chef's kiss. From the interior decoration which was so aesthetically pleasing and perfect for pictures to the friendly service to the food itself. This casual establishment perfectly portrays the fusion of Vietnamese and Filipino flavors in my opinionKare Kare (veggie): 9/10. My only potential gripe about this dish would be the amount of rice given if you are planning on sharing the dish; however, it was enough for my friend and me. The flavor was savory and creamy and it wasn't too heavy or greasy feeling.Garlic Noodles (tofu): 8.5/10. This dish was a little greasier than I would have preferred but I also kind of expect that at a restaurant. The tofu was super crispy though and the noodles were perfectly cooked.Tofu Bao Buns: 7/10. My least favorite dish but only because I feel like the entire bun was lacking a bit flavor. It could have used a bit more sauce but it was a good, light appetizer.I love that this place offers a plethora of vegetarian options. I would most definitely come back.
