**an all around amazing Thai spot**-delicious food-great prices ($30 for two dishes)-lovely staff and restaurant set upThis place is very family friendly and has a bathroom! They are very attentive and quick. One unique thing is their water: HUGE mason jars and a cucumber instead of a lime ! The water lasted me throughout the whole meal AND stayed cold. We got a spice level of 3/5 for both dishes and it was not overly spicy at all. Just enough to give it flavor. We both think we could handle the 4 comfortably. The Thai tea was also spectacular - sweet enough yet still a pronounced tea aftertaste. Definitely a must try for your first time there.

We came here after visiting Arizona Mills. We got seated right away on a Thursday night for a party of 5. Workers were friendly and it was a nice Thai restaurant. The food was pretty average in terms of taste and presentation. The price was decent as well. Location was good if you're exploring Tempe and staying in the area.

Went here for lunch with my friend on Saturday after she suggested it since I LOVE thai food. I have to say it was underwhelming. It could have been the day but I was uncomfortably warm in the restaurant and it was a surprisingly cool day here in Arizona. The service was a bit slow & we had a small mix up. We both got the fried rice with our own choice of proteins and two orders of crab puffs. I was really looking forward to the crab puffs and I have to say I wasn't a fan. We did receive the complimentary sorbet which was a nice gesture but it almost seemed like an after thought, it was just dropped off to the table with no explanation. Didn't snap pics.

We did takeout and ordered tofu/veggie panang curry and tofu/veggie drunken noodles. Both level 3 spice. Ordered online and was ready at pickup. Very reasonable pricing. The spice level was PERFECT and very spicy for a level 3! Very flavorful curry and loved the thicker consistency of the curry as well. Packed with tofu and veggies, far more than many other restaurants. Drunken noodles were also excellent with lots of veggies/tofu and a delicious smokey flavor to it. Portion sizes were generous and it reheated well. Would definitely order again!

Chanpen has long been my favorite Thai place in the valley. I almost always get the drunken noodles with beef, spicy 4/5. I typically order for pick up, but they have a pretty spacious dining area. I wish I lived a little closer.

Location: Plaza on the northeast corner of Baseline Road and S 48th Street. Close to Fry's grocery store and a donut shop. Ample parking available. Wait: It was a busy Friday night, we were seated in about 15 minutes. But it took longer for the food to arrive, I think they were prioritizing takeout orders. Lots of patrons sitting around and not eating. Ambiance: Dim lighting with dark ceiling, floors and furniture. Marble tables with a mix of chairs, wall benches, and wooden booths with minimal back support. Menu: Standard Thai fare. Various appetizers, curries, soups, salads, fried rice, stir fried entrees, and noodles. A few dessert items like ice cream, mango sticky rice, and fried banana. Chicken Skewers (satay) - Six small and skinny pieces. Some were a little fatty, all were not grilled long enough. Drowning in sauce that should have been served on the side. Beef Pad See Ew - Didn't have much soy sauce flavor, kind of bland. Meat and noodle consistency was fine. I understand why they use broccoli instead of gai lan (Chinese broccoli), but it's out of place with the rest of the dish. Chicken Fried Rice - Some grains were hard to chew, protein was tender at the very least Complimentary Sorbet - Sweet and tangy Verdict: Entirely forgettable experience

It is a parking lot with the Fry's. When we walked in, immediately greeted by the lady at the front. The restaurant was fairly quiet, although there were several families inside, we grabbed two menus, sat down by the Order counter, and then decided where we went. We approach the counter, immediately greeted by the same woman, ready to take our order. She took our orders with ease and answered all my questions. We took the food back home, which was about a five minute drive away, it was nice and hot and very flavorful. Definitely get the sauces especially if you like spice. We got a pad Thai level three and a Thai fried rice, combination, beef and chicken level 3 and they were delicious. I came here like a year or two ago, I don't feel like I had asked of experience. We also got the coconut shrimp, and the crab puffs, everything was delicious. Will be back. :)

Very good Thai cuisine, comparable to its sister (or rather, mother) restaurant a few miles away. Very efficient service and our server gave excellent suggestions and explainee the menu items well when we had questions. The place itself is spacious, clean, and conveniently located in a large commercial plaza so parking is no problem.

I recently took my team for lunch at Chanpen Thai Cuisine and everyone enjoyed their food. I arrived first and was quickly seated by the waiter. While I was waiting, he brought soup for the table, which I thought was kind of odd as it probably would have been best to wait until everyone arrived. That being said, the complementary soup was a delicious start to the meal. It's a broth based soup with cabbage, so it's light enough not to ruin your appetite. My group arrived in waves and the waitstaff were very attentive. We all opted for different entrees, I personally selected the Garlic Sauce with Shrimp. For my spice level, I went with a 3 as I had read reviews that their levels are spicier than most. I definitely could have bumped up to at least a 4 as 3 had a little spice, but was pretty mild.Although the spice was mild, the flavor was not! This dish had a delicious garlic sauce and the option was very generous. After our meal we were all served a complementary scoop of orange sorbet, which was a nice surprise! I've never had that at a Thai restaurant, but it was a perfect way to end the meal.Overall this is a great spot and definitely worth checking out!

Waste of money! Not good- below average! On a Saturday for lunch, not busy. The wings were dredged in syrup (not slightly sweet like the waiter said ) and not good ! The Panang curry was way too thickened ( flour? Cornstarch ?) and lacking the multi dimensional, exotic Panang flavor.Yuck- it tasted old and was NOT good quality chicken either - such a letdown.! The Larb was lacking too! Just stunningly mediocre and no real fresh herbaceous flavor and that chicken was also poor quality and there was some thing I can't describe in the salad crunchy that taste like some kind of fried chips or something weird? Also very Uncomfortable furniture!
