Channel 2 Sports Bar

Oh me, oh my... what a local bar this is.I have been to many a bar, but this is especially dark... no windows...The bar tender, Tara, is immediately attentive. If I glance at her, she comes to ask me, "How are you doing?"Good beer, full bar, pool tables and sports!What else could we hope for!?

This is a bar not pretending to be anything but a local bar. It has a lot f local flavor and friendly patrons.Bartender was very helpful and made a wonderful lemonade type drink which was perfect for an warm afternoon.Fans were real, regulars were real, just a fun comfortable place to hang.Reporting from Channel 2 Sports Bar , back to the studio.

PCS'd to San Diego in 2021, and found this lil gem of a bar within walking distance from housing. It's literally behind LMH. Popped in for a drink and everyone there is super chill. We were all vibin'.Lots of regulars and familiar faces. Jacqui, Tony, Daniella and Victoria make you feelright at home. It's a lot like Cheers (80's tv show)..."Where everybody knows your name." ;-)Great service, great folks, great pours!#prosit

Super nice bartenders, guy gave me a recommendation for a brewski drank to many got sick everyone there was so nice to me and I made a fool of myself, super kind regulars. Still let me come back and I learned my lesson and I still had a ball there

Now this quaint & spacious sports bar has some of the most polite & good looking bartendresses in the city! You'll get served promptly with a genuine smile. Very comfortable atmosphere. It even has good energy! Plenty of monitors to view & there's lottery.Healthy pours to one's cocktails or shots.

Dude with Tony ponytail "what do you want"Hates his job. Left a $10 tip for two beers of $12 and tells me I left a crap tip. Love this place for pool and availability of seating and music. But this place alone would get a one for that bartender "I work at the hard rock" yeah no, never seen you there and your drinks and attitude suck. Never left a review like this but man, this guy is out of control. My cousin said "what would you recommend " and he said "it's all good I'm not you" and he's a army soldier. He recommended we go 4 miles away to another bar. And we were way better. I like this place but if dude with ponytail works here, walk out.

Been a while since my last review.. Thought it was time for an update.. CH2 is the Neighbhood bars of Neighborhood bars. Ton of TV's. All the staff are awesome.. They greet you when you come in, remember your name and cocktail of choice.. Cant say enough for the group.. Mama Bear Lina, Jacquie, Tara, Tony, Viktoriia, Danielle.. Nice to know that you will know your bartender when you walk in..... All the regulars and staff look out for each other.. They even check on you if you haven't been around in a while and offer to bring you food when youre sick.... We do get the occasional nuisance.. There was a dude (Mark) that was a new comer regular but was one of those very entitled peeps. He acted like one of those spoiled only child who had to get his way or he would have a meltdown and mom would have to drag him out of the store or church out of embarrasment.. He'd bring in his dog (if it is an emotional support dog then excuse me), throw fits and yell at patrons when someone jumped him in line on the juke box (WTH!!) Threw a glass at one of the bartenders when he didn't get his way.. Should I go on? Needless to say three strikes youre out and he finally got 86'd. Regulars and staff definitley more at ease since his banshment. Thank God.. If you're in Serra Mesa you should come visit..

Total local bar. Locals were cool, but the bartender didn't know me so it took awhile to get a drink.

Love this bar but the bar tender Tony SUCKS. He is not friendly and even when there are customers he tells them to kick rocks. Jackie is so awesome love her. . Love this bar but Tony.. you gotta go bro. Your passiveness is not cool. It was 11:30 he started putting chairs up told us we shouldn't order drinks cuz he closes at 12. Bragged about working at the hard rock hotel and told us this spot was just a side job and he "makes all the drinks" he brings in his own alcohol to make drinks. This guy is so into himself he went out of his way to say look around i don't even have security. I havent had security in years because this is my bar. I don't need it. . He is just not pleasant...Everything here was him. . It was just too much. Made me feel like i was downtown San Diego and not at a regular neighborhood bar. Tony stay at Hard Rock because the Channel 2 is a family bar. . We don't wanna see your tantrum fits here.

This is one of my favorite spots in SD! I first learned about it when I moved in to the new condo development several years ago at Aero and Sandrock. I now live in a neighborhood several miles away and still frequent this bar as often as I can because of the atmosphere, bartenders, and regulars. Because of this bar, I have a handful of amazing friends that have turned into family. Definitely give this bar a shot if you've never been, you won't be disappointed!
