This place tasted like they cooked their noodles in toilet water. It was absolutely revolting. I ate two bites and couldn't eat anymore. When I asked for a refund, they only gave me 50% even though I barely ate any of it. Do not go here.

Pretty disappointed this place. Gave this place a second try after ordering really bad takeout. The rice was so spicy I couldn't even eat it. I ordered 2 stars. Most Thai places I can handle up to 5 stars, but this tasted as if they dumped a whole jar of chili flakes in it. This time we decided to dine in to see if it would be better. I ordered pad Thai thinking they couldn't mess that up. I was wrong, it tasted like straight ketchup and was just really bad. Also had the red curry and the portion was extremely tiny for lunch. The service was not good either. Waited in the entrance for a while, as no one was up front. They were laughing and chatting in the kitchen until, I had to say "hello?" There were no customers and I can see why. There are much better options around for Thai food.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Columbia City! Spice Room is beautiful, but really tones down the spice level to appease the masses. Bua 9 brings the heat, but doesn't exactly bring the date night ambience, if you know what I mean! Cozy, family-run and relaxing. When I ask for some heat in my curry, they definitely bring the heat! Best yellow curry that I've had in awhile. This isn't haute cuisine, but it's delicious, simple Thai food in a nicely-decorated space. They also have a small selection of decently-priced beer and wine. I can't remember what I paid for my wine, but it was definitely below $10!If you live in the area, this would make a nice date night!

Three stars for hit or miss service. We keep trying this restaurant every few months because it is in our neighborhood & they make their pad Thai with tamarind (not everyone does). Sadly, our food quality varies. Our guess is it depends on how busy they are, or maybe who cooks. Sometimes it is really great. Sometimes it isn't.

The Green Curry Chicken came without coconut milk. it was a thin bright green flavorless mess. I would like to believe this was a mistake, but it was so glaringly obvious that the preparation was wrong. I cannot say that it was not anything but intentional.. that being said, I would not recommend anything from this restaurant.

My friend and I came here for dinner this past week and it was great! The ambiance was very inviting and spa-like. The food was incredible! We ordered potstickers, orange chicken, chicken fried rice, and chicken pad Thai. The orange chicken was most definitely the best I've ever had!

This is a tiny spot located on busy MLK Blvd. We were dog sitting for a friend and it was within walking distance. Since then it's become our go-to Thai restaurant in Columbia City. The prices seem like they are a bit higher than other Thai restaurants in the area, but absolutely worth it.We start with the spring rolls and the pot stickers. Both come in a good quantity. From there, garlic lovers delight is our main go-to. We usually try to mix it up and try other things in every order. We had the green curry recently and loved it.I feel like Chandala is different because their ingredients seem fresher. The vegetables all have great color and texture. In around 10 orders we've never been disappointed.
