I was introduced to Celeste on a random Thursday while out with my girlfriends. I've been to Hubbard St countless times and never noticed the bar. It is sandwiched between other lively bars and across the street from the more popular bars so it is easy to miss. The manager, Omar, called us over and convinced us to check out the bar. I was in complete shock that Celeste has existed this long and I had never visited prior to 2024. I do need to shout out Omar because he is the man! He is always friendly whenever you see him even if it is a busy night. Every staff member I have come across has been friendly. The bartenders are top notch. I haven't had a bad drink in the handful of times I've been to Celeste. The bar is broken into several floors that cater to different vibes. The first level has a DJ that played afro beats and hip hop, they had multiple DJs throughout my visit. It is busy and the bar is bustling on the first floor. They have several booths for people that want to order food and the bar is long with ample stools. I have also observed a few tables that people that order bottle service are seated. There is enough space for dancing even with how many people flow in and out of the space. The second floor is a lounge that has more mellow music. They have more booths and tables for groups that want a slower vibe. The bar is a little smaller so they have fewer stools than upstairs but this is the level you would visit if you want to actually have a conversation. It feel like a cocktail lounge sandwiched in-between all of the chaos. The third floor is a disco, you read that right! My jaw dropped the first time I came across this floor. It is probably the wildest and loudest floor. The floors light up like a disco ball and the music is all fast paced. The music is very diverse and you will more likely hear a good mix of throwback songs and some popular pop songs. I love that they have a space that is purely dancing. I ended up on this floor and after a few minutes my group already met a new friend. The disco floor brings me back to the days of dancing to the point that you left the club looking like you went to the gym! The final level is the rooftop. This is where you will find majority of the bottle service table. They still give ample room to make it to the bar but you are really only coming up here for fresh air because the music is randomly techno. I think for something like a rooftop it should be more top 40s because it is a neutral vibe. I probably spend the least amount of time on the rooftop because the music is meh. I look forward to visiting on a cooler night to at least enjoy the cooldown! I have visited Celeste mostly on Thursdays because it is busy but not Friday busy. I went on one Friday and the line was massive and the bar was packed. I was still able to secure a seat at the bar but it is definitely a different vibe. Thursdays you're able to chat a lot more with random people at the bar because Friday is just too packed and mostly tourist visiting the city. I highly recommend visiting Celeste. If you are looking for a slower night come on Wednesday or Thursday. A bonus is that they close around 4am!

Came here Friday night after multiple reviews stating this was a lit spot. When my husband & I walked up to the line the bouncer looked at us and said " of course you're VIP" and let us in lol. There are levels kind of similar to like Webster hall in NYC. The top level is the club. The bar area was packed with more ppl but towards the front and the DJ it's more space. The DJ plays a good mix of music. Wanting to cool down we went to the second floor which is more of a lounge vibe. I ordered chicken bites which were good. We decided to go back upstairs after cooling off and finish our night.

My little sister got married last night downtown and a group of 20 of us left the venue and headed straight to Disco. The line was wrapped around the block. I spoke with Omar at the door and explained the situation. Within 5 mins he gave us the best table on the third floor with bottle service and a light up message congratulating them. All star MVP like performance by my guy Omar. Will always be back if he's working the door, so much fun. When the floor lights up I just pretend I'm playing Dance Dance Revolution, Thanks again Omar, you made the night!

I recently went on a St. Patrick's Day bar crawl with my friends and one of the stops was Celeste. Expect a long queue every time you visit but The lines were pretty fast moving.I've been there a few times before, and it's always been super busy. But this time, we started on the first floor for some food, ordered fries, and got a nice surprise of free green tea shots from our waitress, who was really helpful. The waitress was patient and nice and offered those shots because there was a mixup with our order of fries. Then we went up to the second floor, which is usually packed, but this time it wasn't too crowded. We danced for an hour and had a blast! Finally, we checked out the rooftop floor, and the St. Patrick's Day atmosphere was awesome. I really like celeste's multi floor concept as it caters to all your moods. Overall, Celeste was great, and I'll definitely be going back. It's perfect for showing out-of-town friends a good time with dining, dancing, and rooftop views all in one spot

First time visitor and stopped in to begin my birthday celebration with dinner. Overall, it was just ok. There are four-stories (Whiskey bar, Deco Supper Club, Disco, Garden) and each floor has a different vibe and music. Had dinner on the second floor, and the brussels sprouts were the only notable dish. The service was alright. We made reservations, we were sent upstairs to find another host but when we got there everyone seemed confused why we were trying to check in. It was just a little confusing and less formal than expected. Nothing bad, but wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

I wish I could give less than one star. The people working here are homophobic and cruel. We were here for my friend's bachelorette party, which included a group of girls and a few gay boys. The security people judged our outfits, called us homophobic slurs and tried to revoke our sense of humanity with their horrid words. Just when I thought it could not get worse, a staff member spit on my friend and gave him the middle finger. We were very poised and very demure and did not deserve this treatment. I have never felt more threatened by an establishment. I am hopeful this place could be better in the future.

I always seem to end up at this nightclub unexpectedly. I have ended up here after going to other bars in the area and I have also ended up here after going to the Lion King musical. Sometimes you just need to dance. I've been coming here off and on for about 4 years and I hope they never go away. There is no cover (As of the time period of this review). This is always a plus. The age demographic makeup is very interesting. I would say that 60% of the people appear to be in their 20's and the other portion of people are mainly 30s-40s. The space always seems to be tightly packed with people. Be prepared to be standing very close to other people. The DJ always seems to do a great job. I prefer true 70s era music, so I like the nights where they primarily play songs from this time period. I did go once where they seemed to be mainly playing remixes of more recent songs, and I didn't like that as much. Drink prices aren't outrageous for a nightclub in River North. I recall most cocktails being $15 or under. I did get a cocktail in a disco ball once and that was a little bit more. If are up for a good night of dancing on a beautiful floor, Disco is a great option to consider.

The bar seemed like it had a lot of potential to be good until until we met the bouncers, saw multiple people enter with the same dress code as us but the bouncers did not bat an eye at it. Just because of that I give them a one star. Place seemed like it had a lot of potential but the bouncers outside suck!
