Celaeno tasting with Brian
The wine list.
The ladies listening to Brian talking about his wines. Yep, they loved it.

Had a great time here! The staff was really engaging and fun and we learned a lot about the wines. There are awesome tables with fires outside that keep you warm and add a nice ambiance to the whole experience. I recommend making a reservation but we were able to walk up with no issue. The wine is easy to drink and you get a lovely view of the valley. Wonderful for a day of tasting!

My large family and I visited Celaeno on a cloudy, warm Saturday. We made a reservation for 12; however when we came in were told "there must have been a miscommunication" which made me quickly feel out of place and honestly like we were a pain even though the reservation had been settled weeks prior. Maybe in the future we'll call a day or two prior to confirm, though this shouldn't be necessary. The owner/manager quickly changed his tune when the tasting began and did a great job "working the room," sharing stories and entertaining but not a hit intrusive -- the perfect balance if you will. My grandpa is an overly curious and inquisitive fella, but was met with so much patience and love, which isn't always the case. The owner even played his guitar at Gramps' request. I've only visited 4 wineries prior and have only enjoyed one red wine ever...well before I met Celaeno's reds. They were delicious and I enjoyed ALL selections; however I was disappointed by the TINY pours -- seriously -- I had to try to make them last more than 2 sips. Initially, I thought I was showing my rookie-ness, but as the night went on, 4 others in our group expressed the same sentiments and they are veteran wine-tasters. In fact, my mom finished her "sip" before everyone received their first pour. In short -- delicious wine, disappointing pours, great service, but for large parties, confirm prior to showing up to avoid feeling really, really awkward upon arrival.

Was lucky to get in for a tasting with a reservation on a rainy Sunday. Outside there's a nice overhang on the building that provides cover and a couple tables with fires to help keep you warm. I liked being able to try wines that were 100% of a certain variety so I could know what that grape really tastes like. If you don't do a tasting, try the Petit Verdot if you like a bold wine with some annins!

Dog friendly which is nice. Also they honored the wine pass which is good. They have outdoor seating with outdoor gas fire sets, nice touch. The vinter was quite knowledgeable and spoke to us at great length about his wines. He had some interesting varietals and I liked that his whites were not heavily wooded. In the end, none of the wines especially clicked with us and we are trying to pare down our home cellar. But everyone has different tastes and I am sure many others will find something they love here.Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a friendly winery.

Tried this place with our Woodinville passport, I really enjoyed the stainless steel Viognier and brought one bottle back home with us. Their reds also are really good! It is fun to see how Brian the winemaker uses different types of American oak to age the wines. Ask him to tie a handle on your bottle next time you see him!

I love coming to this tasting room. The owner is funny, welcoming and full of great historical stories. He always has great 70's-80's music playing. His wines are so very good and consistent. We love the Pinot Noir and Syrahs. We buy at least two bottles of wine each time we visit. Come support this small winery on the West side of Woodinville.

Unique wines, great atmosphere, love the winemaker and his stories. Only downside is I can't make it in more often. Check the hours and get in there! (From someone who works in the industry)

Solid reds and personable service. We had a great time here, as the owner made his way around all of the tables, talking with everyone as if they were all his friends. Loved that! A group of four of us visited Celaeno Winery on a Saturday. We made a reservation, which I highly recommend doing since they only have a few tables outside during this time (they do not have indoor seating). They do allow dogs, and since it's located in a very small business area with not much else around, parking was plentiful in their own lot. We all did the tasting, which included five wines, two whites and three reds. I did not like the whites at all; the chardonnay and viognier were super sweet. However, the reds were good. We had a syrah, a petit verdot and a blend of cab franc and merlot. Of the reds, I enjoyed the petit verdot the most. It was bold and full-bodied, which is how I like my reds. Luckily, I found Celaeno through the Woodinville Wine Passport, as I most likely would've never known about them. They're off the beaten track, but you'll be entertained by the quirky owner with a red in hand.

We had so much fun at this winery with Brian! Not only did we get a history of wine in various regions but we also got a history of music lesson! The Tempranillo was my favorite. Really enjoyed and will be back.

Brian was so interesting and it was so much fun hearing his stories. His wine was the best we had in all the Woodenville wineries we visited. All made in the room we were sitting. He played Linda Ronstadt music for us! Definitely check him out.
