We have eaten here several times. The food had been adequate. Once Chef Kolpin took over, the food went to an entirely new level. His food is simple and incredibly flavorful. Do not miss the flatbread with dirty dip. It is amazing. The handmade ricotta gnudi are also not to be missed. Service is always wonderful. When we've disclosed that we're coming for a special occasion, they go out of their way to ensure that they recognize the reason we're coming. We celebrated our anniversary there a few weeks ago and we were welcomed with champagne. Our family would highly recommend Cedar + Elm. It's not only located in a beautiful area, it also offers incredible food.

Just not that great food, especially for the price point. The kale salad was really good, and so was the bread, but entrees weren't good

Met two friends for dinner yesterday at this newish place. Driving into the state park I was wondering: do I need my Discover Pass to park? Not to worry, follow the signs for valet parking (free, though don't forget to tip your valet). The friendly valet pointed me to the entrance to the hotel (not obvious as it's an old seminary building). I was early for our reservation so dropped into the adjacent bar where they had happy hour going on. I ordered their HH white wine, which was a tasty Côtes du Rhône white and a good deal at $8. The HH menu looked tasty but I had to wait for our reservation....Once the first of my friends arrived, we were quickly seated for an early dinner. As we were three, we ended up in this great table that had a love seat for two facing into the dining room. We ended up ordering everything to share which the staff accommodated nicely. Starters were the filet mignon tartar, crab salad and bread; mains included the sablefish and gnudi. All were very well executed and delicious; the seafood dishes were especially good. I was driving so ended up having mocktails with dinner--the Dewberry Drought was tasty. If I had one thing to ding the restaurant on, it'd be that food came out slowly. Not that I ever want to be rushed, but this seemed really slow, especially since the restaurant was not full. However, our server was very attentive and was following up with us frequently to ensure we had what we needed; it was more that the kitchen was a little slow. All in all it was a pleasant experience and I would return.

Decent brunch spot at St. Edwards, but too expensive to justify going regularly. The dining room is very nice and bright, and I appreciated getting a table by the window to look out over the grounds. I had the pork hash which had nice chunks of pork with lots of veggies, and it tasted pretty good. But the portion size is tiny for $21. My wife had the salmon frittata which came with lots of greens and a delicious potato waffle, and that seemed a better deal for $19. But with the others in our group we had a four person brunch cost over $100 with a few iced teas. Just seems overpriced for what you get. They have valet parking which I think is free for the restaurant, otherwise parking yourself is a challenge as you compete with all the park visitors.

Brunch at Cedar + Elm and a walk around St. Edwards is one of my favorite ways to spend a free day. Some of our favorites is the french toast, smoked salmon sandwich, and granola parfait. My favorite cocktail from here is the King Louie.I love the interior with the rattan and the green velvet. Something about it makes me happy. I also enjoy talking to Roberto who is one of the servers here. I like hearing about his family and his stories make me feel more connected to this place and the community.

Very charming place with great ambience. A little bit of an Overlook vibe, but in a good way. Oysters were spectacular! Flatbread is good, get it with the 'dirty dip'.I had the short rib which was also very good. Usually I find short ribs to be over cooked and dry but this was simultaneously flaky and moist with good smoked flavor.

Beautiful ambience and great service. The downfall was that we went on Father's Day and unfortunately the food was served lukewarm/cold. I think they were struggling to keep up. The Benedict's we ordered were served lukewarm. They would have been out of this world if served warm. The mushroom frittata dish was not only served cold but it was bland and the carmalized onions and cheddar that were described in the dish was non existent. It was a big disappointment. We will go again when it's not during a holiday. We would give 5 stars for ambience and service and 3 1/2 for food.

I have been to afternoon tea everywhere Washington state offers it. This is the first place I've ever been where you don't actually get to brew your tea. Certainly not a pot. They bring you a small strainer of tea you put on your teacup (???) and then you pour hot water over it. This is... an interesting take on tea. Some places don't give you a pot, but they do give you an infuser of tea, which isn't my favorite but at least the tea gets a chance to brew. The food for afternoon tea is good, but hurried. You can tell that speed and quantity is most important. For the price? Meh. Save up a little more and go to the Fairmont.

First time I came here the food was out of this world. Short ribs melted in your mouth. Second time now so much tartar had way too many onions and chives that all you could taste.
