Again what more can I say? Great food, friendly and helpful staff (this time my Mom went after not knowing what to get-then got samples to try out stuff). Ambiance is divey but you are here for BBQ and family friendly service. Great spot!

One of the best hidden gems in the nation. I grew up eating caveman as a child of the 80s and their food is still just as delicious today as it was 3 decades ago. I now live in the South and I still can't find food like this down there! My go-to is the smoked chicken sandwich with BBQ sauce. Tender smoked white meat with tangy BBQ sauce on a buttered and toasted fresh bread. The Potato salad is a must for the side and there is no rival for this recipe out there. Savory, fresh made with whole food ingredients. No MSG or additives, no liquid smoke, no cut corners or cheating here. It's wonderful Try a dragon wheel as well with caramelized onions that form a crust with the potatoes and carrots and smoked pork. Perfect. The place is old. It has outdoor dining only so temper your expectations. Pick it up to go or enjoy a picnic onsite.The staff are friendly and fast. Do it. Now.

Them boys need to learn how to season the food. Went there today, wife loves their potatoe salad and ribs for whatever reason so I took her. Ribs have no flavor. Tender but a bit overcooked and dry. Bbq sauce is ketchup based and flavorless. Needs seasoning!! To each thier own but if you comment and say this is the best bbq you've ever had, you've never had real bbq at all.

AVOID!!! - overall disappointment - Needs Gordon Ramsay overall - I so regret this waste of money - hope I don't get sickGiven all the old mementos posted on the walls, letters (including one or praise from Julia Childs), plaques of newspaper "Best of Kent" contests.... the quality must have been much, much better years ago ...before the fire and relocation.Despite a friendly front staff and some OK things on menu (e.g., potato salad, slaw, and smoked chicken were OK) ... the food quality and consistency must have really slipped because this was the absolute worst BBQ ever. The ribs were dry and tough like they were overcooked or old, and their BBQ sauce is a flat catchup without flavor, and overall nothing was really good or tasty, just meh.And it is really, really expensive. Spending so much on food that you throw away because it is yuck or meh ... is sickening.And I hope I don't get sick. A search of heath inspections reveals a history of violations... including recent critical violations about food storage (https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/dph/health-safety/food-safety/search-restaurant-safety-ratings#/)I was going to get superior BBQ right around the corner in Kent... but thought I would give this Caveman Kitchen a try ... Outstanding... not that's not enough. This is better than home cooking(cause you don't have to do dishes!) this place feels like family cooking for you after you won the big game. Cooked from scratch, no joke every SINGLE THING is made from scratch even the mustard (Nathan said literally like 3 things aren't made in house!!).Nathan (manager and catering director) and the ladies that seemed to be everywhere doing all things, showed us an amazing first time experience. As such this is and will be our go to any time in the kent area!! Love love love the flavors, huge portions, and all done with so much care to the details. THANK YOU

My girlfriend treated me to cave man kitchen. The food was amazing! We had the salmon dips! They're were super friendly and our food came out hot and quick! Has a nice feel to it when you get there! I will be returning!

Tossed salad was not great, greens were all wilted. Sandwich is tough and didn't taste good. Very disappointed. Salmon in the sandwich didn't have any taste. Not ideal barbecue at all.

Food is always good here. The chicken bacon ranch is the bomb. So is the ham sandwich.But their potato salad? To die for!

Hello,I have been a loyal Caveman Customer for 44yrs. I usebto eat lunch outside with Dick All the time. Hot polish, medium baked bean , lemonade. When I didn't have enough money just bread and baked bean. Dick would bring me a sandwich saying don't do without because your short on money. That being said what happened to the food!!!??It's been a year or so since I have been in. The hot polish had no heat. At least they went back to crusty bread. But the beans!! Not the same at allThe taste is totally different Will not be buying those again.The meat on the sandwich was not caramelized at all. The old convection ovens did so much better Sorry to say. For 27.00 for a sandwich extra meat and medium baked bean. It needs to be better. Dick Donley would not stand for this.

We love their smoked turkey; it's a family tradition and we have smoked turkey soup for the weeks to come.
